Holtzman Gorilla Survival - Bloodline- A BushCraft Test and Thoughts

- Holtzman Gorilla Survival has done it again. I absolutely love the look of this Bushcraft knife. The Bloodline is a perfect name for this. The red liners and black G10 handle looks so good. the 1095 High Carbon Steel performed quit well.
I would have liked to see the spine of the knife be sharp enough to use on the provided Ferro Rod but its not a deal breaker as this setup is something you can rely on.
Blade: Full Tang 1095 High Carbon Steel
Handle: Non Slip 1.4” wide G10 w/ Red Liners
And matching Ferro Rod and striker
Overall Length- 8 1/2 "
Blade Length- 4 1/4 "
Blade thickness- 1/8 of a inch

@@JBOutdoorsAndMore Just to let you know, yes I'm already one of your subscriber.
its awesome how a striker is almost always included. that a big plus in longevity of the blade since the coating can stay intact. i would be interested to see a torture test of the biggest knife he sells. surely he must have a larger bushcraft knife as well?
A bigger version i'm sure is in the works . and if i can. get 2 ill torture test one.
thank you for your support.

Thanks! Great video. As a beginner, what’s the real difference between 1095 Steel and d2 Steel?
Thank you for taking the time to stop and look
1095 in my opinion is better than D2 .
D2 will take a nice edge and hold it a long time, if heat treated correctly. It can be a little difficult to sharpen. Best to not let it get dull, or any knife for that matter. A little more corrosive resistant than 1095, but not a true stainless steel.
1095 is a tough carbon steel. It, too, will take a very nice edge and will be easy to sharpen. Stands up better to impact, as when battoning. I believe it will take more flex than D2 as well.
I have always been Partial to 1095
I hop this helps
thank you again and hope you enjoy my channel
