Every one knows she should win this contest but becouse of political reasons she was 2nd(the country of the winner is the host of next year contest)so its a shame that it happens so often...

Politic... economic... geographic reasons always were an issue on the voting of this contest as far as I remmeber! Very hard to fight against it. The good ones always pursue with their carrers! Thanks for sharing your opinion, Wojciech!

Polish is very harsh language, but at some (poetical/lyrical) point, it gets beyond 'sz', 'cz', etc...

Poland came second to Ireland (the host country) that year. Ireland probably did NOT want to win and host again! The problem was that Edyta sang an English version of her song in the jury dress rehearsal, meaning that if there had been a problem during the live broadcast, this rehearsal would have had to be used, and singing in English was against the rules. Many feel that the juries of other countries who did not or could not sing in English penalised her slightly... in revenge. Whatever the case, it was a masterclass is how to sing a song and how to introduce your country musically to the world. Bravo Poland.
