1:56 Man... I just noticed how the animators nailed the character's personalities in their combat choices.
Sam, being the most tactical, evades the fight by leaping over her attacker; gaining more space to her advantage.
Clover, being the most reactive, waits for her attacker to reach her; immediately engaging in some risk-reward hand-to-hand combat.
Alex, being the most ambitious, heavily attacks, yet is countered immediately. However, her recovery is very quick and her determination is her strength.
2:18 Once again Sam, as the most tactical, decides to use another opportunity to gain space for an advantage, by smashing through the window. Once she has that space to recover, she also has enough time to defend herself with well-timed, critical attack.
Alex gets distracted, and is almost caught in a crossfire. But, as the most ambitious, she decides to verbally mock her attacker. As a result, she unfortunately gets caught and falls.
Clover, being the most reactive, is still engaging in hand-to-hand combat with her attacker until she notices her best-friend in danger. Without hesitation, she sprints to save Alex. Yet, due to this taking her focus off of any possible obstacles, she gets stuck to the floor.
Since direct combat is not her specialty, Sam's immediately beaten. But, as a tactician, she relies on her gadget to cause a major distraction and win the battle.
Man, this show was so good and I've only noticed the attention to detail now that I'm older...

Sam has always been one of my childhood crushes. Her along with Tifa from FF7, Belldandy from Ah My Goddess, Princess Zelda, Samus Aran, Cinderella, Ariel, Misty, Black Cat, Batgirl, Sango, Relena from Gundam Wing, Hinata, Bloom, & Sailor Moon.

Clover was the one that made the show fun to watch and you can say that she was the best character in Totally Spies! but Sam was the best spy, it was made clear that she is the strongest, most capable and the protagonist. She did the best in missions.
