Great video. I've seen that road cut but never thought about looking at the geological layers within. I'll have to go back and check it out.

Glad you documented this road cut from the air. I have been following the digging and was able to visit well before all the ‘keep out’ went up. I wish that it could be maintained for everyone to see, but it looks like those colorful layers are too soft. Indeed in the road cut to the north there was a long (about 1000ft ) sequence exposing the Kids strata including some additional colorful layers, that now has been back graded and covered over, so the same produce is likely to happen here. Well it is still an impressive exposure.

❤thank you so much for your increasingly sophisticated videos of the geology of this enormous region! I am finally getting to understand how the formations are so widespread and how they came to be!

Thank you for this video. Great geology lesson! I also subscribe to Geology Professor Nick Zentner's channel. He would just go nuts over this beautiful geological slice.

Thanks! Ha ha, comparing me to Shawn. We watch his videos all the time. The big difference: he's a geologist and we're not. We're photographers and and I create training videos in my "real job". With Shawn you get him lecturing live with his live-drawn diagrams, which are cool, and with us you'll get a more technically-developed presentation. Oh, and we are "closet geologists".

@@BackRoadsWest1 I appreciate your videos. I am 62 and studied soils, botany and horticulture in college but I have a newfound love of geology starting about 5 years ago after discovering Nick Zentner's channel and his other presentations from CWU. I have been watching Shawn's channel for a couple years now, pretty close to it's beginning. Shawn was a recent guest on Nick's current ice age floods series. Highly recommended!
