Because he'd be more aggy when you stop him lol. I have way too many nephews, and as soon as you try to run interference... they will trip out more. Lol. You gotta let them express and be the calm. They'll eventually learn the calm as well.
This is why fathers are important. Women immediately want to comfort and validate false feelings. The black community is full of violence over hurt feelings.
I'm in grad school training to become a child therapist, and this is so healthy to help little ones learn to manage their emotions. You didn't scold him, didn't leave him alone, didn't tell him what to do, just gave him the freedom to work through his emotions in his own way while staying nearby. It's not uncommon for kids to purposely hurt themselves just to test their limits, and he didn't take it to a point where you'd have to intervene. Good parenting :)
I remember this vid. We can all be in distress for a few minutes. You allowed him to round out his feelings. You reassured him, he would not have to be alone always. (Very important). You let him work it out and when he came to the end of his understanding, you were there for him when he needed you most. You did the best thing for him. Bravo! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Brother, Ion’ know who’s been negatively commenting/questioning you or why, but I can assure you from all that I sense and have viewed with you, your seeds, and your BEAUTIFUL wife, you’re an AMAZING father, and you allllllllll are an AWESOME, loving, supportive, balanced family. I THANK YOU for the LOVING, gentle, yet firm when necessary, parenting perspective that you provide. IT IS SOOOOOOOOO needed, particularly within our community, and GREATLY appreciated. 🖖🖖🖖👏👏👏🙏🙏🙏❤️
You handled that great. This video was my first exposure to your channel and to Uzi. I'm glad you showed what came next in this one. You allowed him explore his own emotions and when he was ready to express them you encouraged him. As a teacher, I see too many children who are not allowed to do this and they end up expressing themselves in most inappropriate ways. I just recall one of my blind pre-K students with multiple disabilities acting out and I had to encourage him to use words and feel safe with me to use them to say how he felt. Later his mom told me that she and the dad had separated and the baby missed his dad so much. No one had said anything at home leaving him confused, frustrated, and sad. You are doing such a good job with your babies. I pray more young parents join this channel. I'll be sure to direct them here.
You are teaching him to self soothe and manage his emotions without judging him. ❤ Its hard not to want to fix everything, but that doesn't necessarily help them grow (in love and safety)
Not a parent, but when I saw his reaction, I immediately thought he was expressing his frustration, as you said, because he couldn't go with his siblings to school. Nothing more.🤷🏾♀️ Same scenario as a baby when they get frustrated & start pulling their hair. 😉
Why wouldn't you just allow your son to express himself and discover what is really happening. As long as he wasn't hurting himself, I do not understand the backlash
Who asked??! They must not see Uzi now To me, sometimes people just look for things to say Everyone who watches this channel knows how wonderful of a family this is, a real family. There are a lot of family channels out, but none like this one.❤
I can tell that it’s not just free, clicks because you were always teaching and it shows. You teach good things too, something I ate 32 year old single woman like to see
Uzi is just so PRECIOUS ❤️ ❤️ this entire family and the i wholeheartedly appreciate the INTENTIONAL parenting 💯💯💯 God will continue to bless them for it!!
I just found your content, I commented this elsewhere but I really appreciate how respectful you are to your kids and how developmentally appropriate you make that respect. I also feel you do a good job of not showing too much and letting your family grow behind the scenes and giving us specific pieces to get points across. You more than deserve all the success you have made.
Kids r cute and they need time to figure out the world and it’s ok he didn’t hurt himself. I caught my daughter doing the same thing. I just quickly left her room door and called her and said when u r really lefts go do wow thing u and me and it worked
As a teacher who went to college for Early Childhood Education which covers infants up to school age children, you are doing exactly what you should 👏🏻
In anycase, he communicated with Uzi, so that's good that he understood what Uzi was doing and why he was doing it. You're not jumping in and rescuing a child everytime something happens because you can't always do that.
The Thumbnailllllll 😹😹😹 It's like an insider joke. Beleaf you could've left your explanation at "I was scared" and let these people *curiously ponder* about your fatherhood, left them to their mystery. We know. 👐🏽💟
Fatherhood. That part. It's so important now a days. These kids have no manly figure in their lives and seek the (bad) influences out there to teach them. I can't blame the single mama's too much, but somethings got to give.
When I was Uzi’s age and my brother went to school for the first time, my mom said I was mad and drew all over a picture of him because I wanted to go with him.
This is too much. I don’t know if I’d ever forgive my parents for following me around with a camera literally my whole life, filming every bad moment just to parse through and judge it with the general public
This is from a while ago he hasn't been posting anything new from them just old clips because they said they didn't want to be filmed stop overreacting lol

great points
🎯😂
This is true.

That clip is so powerful. Watching him process his emotions. I never get enough of this post. Great job, dad.
You are not perfect BUT, you are hands down one of the most amazing fathers I've seen.

You are a great dad! I wish I had a dad like you growing up.
The best part of the experience was that the father was there for his son. That’s absolutely a beautiful connection when raising a family 💗

Wow that’s amazing that you decided to make this channels to show others that. I must say it does feel good to watch.
Love your videos, just came across them recently. You have such a beautiful family. Yahweh bless yours Akhi.

You are a good father, period.

Wow this is almost a classic. Now Uzi is going to school.. it's crazy how much time has passed.
As a teacher who went to college for Early Childhood Education which covers infants up to school age children, you are doing exactly what you should 👏🏻
Miss y’all hope you guys are having a great Holiday❤️🙏🏽

❤❤ You Are A Great Chocolate Dad❤❤
I remember this . . . time is sure flying.
Wow, I'm surprised. You shouldn't have had to take the time to explain your actions. I thought it was self-evident.🤷🏽♀️
Aw I love this video
He gotta learn
❤❤❤❤❤💯💯💯💯
