He started getting permission first after an incident back in the days before his first LP, when he was still recording solo playing accordion in one of the Cal Poly men's rooms... All his stuff was played on the Dr. Demento radio show then, and he was a frequent live guest.
He did a parody of Billy Joel's "It's still rock and roll to me" and called it "It's still Billy Joel to me" and nearly got sued. I heard it one time on Dr. Demento, then never again. Another interesting datum is that most of Al's backing band used to be staffers for the syndicated Dr. Demento show.

“Brothers in Arms” by Dire Straits is an emotional and brilliant song that could use a reaction. Its the same band that sings “Money for Nothing” and “Sultans of Swing”

Best thing about watching you react to Weird Al's songs is at the start you see your face go from anticipation to enjoyment/happyness in the first few seconds when you realize which song he is parodying and its awesome seeing that!

  • @claude-emiliecloutier8186

More Weird Al please, It's all about the pentiums and Trapped in the drive trough. You are right, beside being funny his parodies are elaborated from the lyrics to the video itself. Can't wait for the next one!

The "Hamilton Polka" is awesome!!! Oh, and "The Saga Begins" about Obi-wan training Anakin Skywalker. And "I Perform This Way" about Lady Gaga. And "Tacky", which is an amazing one-shot video. Sorry, I grew up on Weird Al, from the time of "Rocky Road" and "My Bologna". I'm 46 now, and I still love his stuff! Weird Al still tours and still releases new stuff, which is an amazingly long career in music. Another thing that I love about Weird Al is that he's had the same group of guys in his band all these decades. He also has a lot of parodies of Micheal Jackson songs because reportedly MJ loved Weird Al's stuff. And if you ever watch the movie, "UHF", which Weird Al starred in, that is probably him at his most goofiest.

(THE DOORS & JOHN LEE HOOKER ROADHOUSE BLUES~ RARE STUDIO MIX ). i know you played the doors singing this song but this one is mixed with John Lee one of the great blues singer, if not this one maybe another by him. we need to hear more of these guys like him that inspired a lot of the great bands. he also made some great music with Canned Heat who played at woodstock which had one of the greatest harmonica players of blues named blind owl Wilson who died at an early age. thanks. i guess i am partial to groups like this since i am 74, so i was a young man at the time and it was exciting to see some of the birth of music that started a lot of what is played today.thanks💚
