Once I was playing this as USSR and I had Baltic States and Ukraine but Germany had a huge amount of stuff in East Poland. I vacated East Ukraine and Most of Russia into Caucasus and Belorussia and then he invaded East Ukraine with everything except like 2 infantry. I then encircled his phat army and hammered it hard with the vacated troops. He only had around 10 infantry and 4 tanks and I easily crushed him and England helped by naval invading France. America was busy fighting Japan.
Turn 7 End Game. Victory! I predicted that Germany would concentrate the bulk of it's forces towards Karelia, Russia. He took it but with the help of the British I took it back. I captured Bulgaria Romania, East Poland, Poland and Baltic States. Japan attacked Buyarita but failed to take it. I didn't really need help from the Allies but it helped secure a quicker victory.
I was able to hold Germany back, but Japan was coming up from the east, and trhat sealed sort of my doom. Can you make a video how you can protect yourself from Japan?
Turn 2 , I found Russia to be a lot better economically and strong military than the 1942 scenario setup. I've blocked the Japanese from pushing into Siberia from Manchuria with mass infantry. I have retaken Ukraine from the Germans and my opponent is weak in that area. He is a threat to Karelia but I think I'll be able to hold out. I like Russia in this setup.
This is only an ask but could you do a run through on 41 and 42 where you do all the exact moves you would do for each nation it would be interesting how the board would look and how and exact strategy would look instead of strategy guidelines or predictions

I love playing russia. For me, slowly building up an airforce is critical to mounting an active defense. I know, I know it's anathema for russia to do anything but infantry spam! But I'm telling you, building your airforce up to at least 3 fighters over time and keeping a trickle of tanks in your armies gives you an amazing counter punch ability! The fighters give you the ability to hit anywhere, as well as eliminating single unit pockets which might otherwise be used for nothing more than a supply path for enemy tanks. Eventually, with a savvy british player on your side you'll be able not only to halt the Germans, but push them back! Now, keeping Japan from fisting you from behind is a dilemma I've yet to remedy but I'm working on it 😁
