This must've been done in some other country. In the USA we DO NOT!! perform a proctor this way.

This is how we did it in the southeast in America, unless you have an automatic proctor hammer

Grading/pipeline superintendent in GA. This is literally the American standard proctor test...better known as ASTM D698 standard Proctor. ASTM stands for American society for testing and materials. It does sometimes look a little different because there are several allowable variations. What state are you and what test do you use?
