I'm so addicted to this podcast I'm like a wild animal at feeding pen every time it releases. Scrabbling on my hands and knees drooling profusely every Tuesday.
i swear to god this
literally me i be refreshing my youtube page with the hinge of hope that there will be a new episode
how the fuck did you come up with this LMAO
Literally grabbing onto the cage bars and shaking them violently when she posts

I get so caught up in Brittany's rapid switch between witty humor, unabashed horniness and insightful remarks that every time she randomly belts out into song with the voice of an angel I'm like wow...what can't she do
For real I swear she’s giving her monologue about art or life and purpose and then immediately switches to “Sam Hartman milkies” like wtffrf
and the rage !! love brittany rage
“What can’t she do?”
Catch a break from the feral beasts of broski nation 👹

OUR SUPREME LEADER 🫡
The way that she can just have any conversation and go off on any tangent possible for an hour straight is insane and perfect
same i really admire people who are so articulate and inward-thinking as to go on and on about something they’re passionate about by themselves (and even moreso ppl who are analytical enough to make something hilarious out of nothing)
idk if watching this pod is helping me get to that level myself or not, but it’s fun to watch😂
Brittany we need you to bite the bullet and write a fantasy novel with an enemies to loves trope…I know you’ve got a book in you
Agreed
All of these whack folks with their tees and tours but this? A wattpadesque novel from this lady? Yes.

This podcast feels like i’m listening to my bestie rant to me after her depressive episode ended bc she hasn’t talked to anyone for 3 months and i love it.
this is so real
Yeesh you sound like a terrible friend lol. Not to sound rude or anything, honest to god, but I cannot imagine how I'd feel if my "friends" just let me spiral for months on end--you'd think SOMEONE would try to check up on the friend who "hasn't talked to anyone for 3 months". And you "love that"?
I get you're "joking" but maybe think about what you're writing *before* you post it. Seriously, that is so cringe.
Perfectly said
@@nomoretwitterhandles you read way too deep into this tbh i wouldnt talk to you either if you acted like this LMFAO, and no one said they wouldnt reach out, they said havent talked to anyone, i had people reach out to me and i DIDNT respond bc i was depressed, got real offended over a joke for no reason. "maybe think about what youre writing before you write it" also applies to yourself, friend.
@@nomoretwitterhandles whats so cringe is you taking this so deep like chill wtf
Every time she yells "SHUT UPPPPP!!!" I lose it💀😂
DUDE THE BRITISH GUYS I HAD A VERY SIMILAR EXPERIENCE WITH STRAIGHT MANNN. I am engaged. My fiance (a cis male) lives with me. The house we live in was my grandmothers, but I’ve always been so proud I made it my own. We had a friend over and he disrespected us so badly. He would just leave chaos in his path in our house. We had a conversation with him about not leaving a mess in the bathroom, putting the seat down, FLUSHING, and he LAUGHED AT USSSS. We told him he wasn’t welcome back. So he apologized profusely and we made the mistake of having him back. He did it again and again. It made me cry EVERY time he left. I felt so disrespected.
Could you specify what part of Britain? Because we are very different each other? I’m welsh for example and we have pretty strict respect for each other
@@redwiltshire1816 it wasn’t a British guy that did that to me, it was just a guy.
@@Toefurkeyyou said british guy?
@@Toefurkeywait so is the first part of your comment in caps just completely separate from everything you said after that? 😂
her voice is actually killer, i feel like she is low key a really talented singer but masks it with silliness
I've noticed that to it sounds like she can sing well on top of the ease with which she can acquire accents. Shes very fakented i could see her also do voice actibg on the side. She always sounds so animated 😅
she knows she can sing it’s a big part of her personality just not her main thing
bro when i heard the singing i ws shook istg i didnt know she had the voice of an angel👼🏼
She’s actually talented at EVERYTHING and mask as silliness it’s crazy
she sang with scott from penatonix for his song mars and girl put her whole entire PUSSY in it holy shit and she sang with orville and it was amazingggg
I love that when Brittany gets passionate about a subject, she starts to shake the table and then the bobble heads start all aggressively agreeing with her 😂
sittin here in my literal old tan bra with my size G's feeling so seen.
I was so immersed in that British guy club story PLSSS DO MORE STORY TIMES youre a story teller! A prophet!!
As a Brit - I am very very sorry our lads disrespected your space - there's no excusing that. I hope you're ok x
I think 'lads' is the key here...
Oh no, I haven’t reached this part and I’m already sad
my fella just heard this bit and rolled his eyes .. "of course the muppets would act like that and make a tw&t out of us .. dont know this person but i feel so bad and annoyed for her.. wish she had of come up our end and we could of shown her we arent all nobs like that" .. he didnt realise how popular she is and thought this was a small channel of someone sharing her experience lol when he realised who she was he went "oh bloody ell never mind .. didnt realise how popular she was but my point still stands" lol he was ready to invite her around to ours for sunday dinner and chill and show her our city bless the lad haha
Not gonna lie I think to this day one of the (earliest) reasons I fell in love with my partner of five year (a straight white male) was that I actually enjoyed spending time at his place, he had a nice couch with blankets, a clean bathroom and different sets of sheets and shelves of books with little trinkets (even framed pictures of concert tickets and family members). His space, although small cause we were at uni, felt like his home not just a room to sleep eat and take a shit. When we moved in together years later, I knew he would treasure my furnitures and trinkets just as he did his. GOOD ON YOU FOR KICKING THEM OUT.
this is so lovely but the bar is on the ground if someone overlooks not making your house a home, which seems to be a lot of people, SO, GOOD FOR YOU
i LOVED a court of silver flames. if you’ve been through trauma Nesta can be really relatable at times and her growth and development is so hopeful and something to be proud of
AGREE I started out hating Nesta and after silver flames I understood her, I felt SEEN by her. Her story is incredible and relatable, and she’s high key a FREAK 🤪 Brittany will love chapter 41 🤭🤭
@@A.girl.has.no-nameI really love Nesta as a character, even when she was "a bitch" she was clearly shaped by trauma and her trauma response being to lash out is just as valid as Elaine's being to draw in and Feyre's being to push it all down. Tbh I think the way the fandom treats her is highkey based in internalized misogyny and I really wish she got more love outside of being Cassian's Girlfriend
As a reader and a former library employee, I can’t recommend getting a library card enough. I also am a collector and like to own things but books are so expensive now (and so many don’t come in paperback anymore???) that having a library card is so worth it. Plus! There are so many perks of hat come with the cards that most people don’t know about, like e-books and streaming services!
Brittany, if you’re interested in learning more about the Cuban Revolution and American imperialism, I can’t recommend the podcast Blowback enough. It has real historical transcripts and audio from JFK, Che, Fidel, current Cuban descendants of revolutionaries, and lots of women and minority voices. It’s soooo educational. You’ll never look at the CIA or American operations abroad the same way again (which is a great thing). It’s the perfect antidote to the education we received in American public schools. I think you’ll look at Che and Fidel’s work way differently afterward
They’re currently doing the war in Afghanistan, the season on Cuba is a few back
I second this suggestion! One of the most well researched podcasts out there, it really changes the way you see the world
Yes I second this!!!
Brittany it is so healing to hear you talk about your experiences with men. I swear every time you tell a story, it comes out right after I’ve had a very similar experience. I am so done with tolerating people who never consider anyone else around them.
It's such a small thing but thank you for saying that last part about being done with "people who never consider anyone else around them" instead of giving in to general hate and saying "men r trash lel". You're focused on the right issue, and that shows you have a real passion for dismantling such poor behavior by these inconsiderate people. You're a good person for that. Sorry to hear you've been through some shit, take all the time you need to recover. It can be exhausting dealing with people like that.
@@nomoretwitterhandles Thank you so much for the kind words! I really don’t believe behavior is a gender specific issue, and saying “all men are trash” is kind of lazy. And I really appreciate you noticing and acknowledging that. :) None of us are perfect, but I try my best to constantly grow and change and be better for the people around me and the people I love. And I want to be around likeminded people where my effort is appreciated, and they’re also trying to be better people. I don’t think we as humans are entitled to much, but I think that if you’re putting a ton of effort into people, maybe you deserve to have that effort put back in. And if they aren’t doing that then what am I spending effort on them for? To drain myself and waste time? To have someone to take care of? If I wanted someone to take care of I’d get a dog lol. Something that’s really been helping me is thinking “my support system has to be supportive” I can’t just support them all the time. It has to go both ways or else it isn’t a real support system. The people that we keep in our closest circle have to be putting back in the same effort as we give to them otherwise it just drains us. Or it does for me anyways. I can’t speak for everyone. Hope this finds someone struggling with something similar and helps though
Hi Brittany, im from Argentina and I just wanted to clarify that CHE is not really a filler word, is more so a word to grab someone's attention, like HEY
example "hey can you pass me that thing" "Che me podés pasar esa cosa?"
although it can be used other ways like "che que calor que hace" or "está caro che"
I would say che is more of a word we use for a person or a group of people
anyways that's it your podcast is really fun
In south of Brazil (bordering with Argentina) it is actually used a lot like a filler word!
What is Brittany's GoodReads? We need a Broski Nation book club on there.

ESPECIALLY Gods of Jade and Shadow, and The Daughter of Doctor Moreau! Her writing is the MOST BEAUTIFUL I’ve seen, she is literally so talented in her craft!!

Hey! As a volunteer librarian I cannot stress the impact of having a library card enough!! Not only are they beneficial in saving money for readers and just overall the accessibility of books, but they are often vital community spaces as well that need patrons to justify continuing to get funding! I also am a huge fantasy reader and I found that mafia type series quenched my thirst for enemies to lovers, other worldly (almost) stories. I also would recommend going back to Tale of Two Cities as an adult because I do think that that’s really interesting to put into perspective like the French Revolution and the affect the American Revolution had on France. (I also just think the story is super interesting.) Anyway, I love you and the podcast!!!!!!
i was literally thinking the same thing as i was listening!!! i hope she sees this and tries going to a cute local library sometime, they really are the best!
i always recommend this to every reader i talk to that doesn’t already have one!! the Libby app is a godsend
I hope Brittany knows that she can talk about literally anything she wants and I will absolutely listen

brittany you give me so much confidence. I just set a boundary with my project manager that ive been meaning to for a while and i KNOW its only because I'm listening to your podcast while working. I appreciate the hell out of you
the serpent and the wings of night is soooooo good. not only was the romance amazing but the world building and the father and daughter relationship complexities literally had me crying the whole time. so so good
the expressions you come up with kill me brittany "he wanted a piece of the broski. And you know what, the diner was open that night" girl hell yeah it was
Please never stop talking about books and booktok!! I’m a bookseller and it’s my absolute favorite to hear you go on a book rant!!
One of my favorite books ever is Beloved by Toni Morrison. It’s a ghost story exploring the trauma of formerly enslaved people after the abolition of slavery in the US. It’s so haunting and a difficult read, but an important one nonetheless!
I love how respectful and eager you are to learn about other cultures, I was born and raised in Africa and I think you should read "the legacy of the orishas"it has fantasy a bit of romance and African mythology
your passion about the arts and things you enjoy makes me feel like there may be a reason to stay on this earth. thank you

As a fellow romantasy reader (whose fav author is SJM), other books are still worth it! Once Upon a Broken Heart by Stephanie Garber filled a space that I would never get from Maas's world building. Love the podcast as usual Britney!! You absolutely should sign up for a library card! They have almost every ebook and audiobook on Libby or Hoopla (depending on your county) and you can get free access to so many cool resources. I work at a library in Florida and library systems get more funding from the government when more people sign up for cards. We use it to help the patrons that do rely on the library for various things.

I’m a 22 year old Puerto Rican women living in the U.S. and I can safely say that your podcast means a lot to me because, not only do you feel like a best friend, I feel like we are similar as well. I started reading when I was younger and I’ve learned that I’m the type of person that just enjoys learning. I can’t stay in a job or career that doesn’t push me to learn. That is why I enjoy your podcast so much. The laughs are an extra, but the amount of topics you mention (books, music, life, movies, and more) motivates me to keep on learning. I really appreciate your content.
are we the same person 😳😀
Omg same!! Shes like a big sister and a friend to me
Brittany as a fantasy/sci-fi writer you help me so much with your reviews. I hear your criticism in the back of my head when I’m writing 😂
one of my favorite things to do is going to resell book stores or like used book stores, you find things you would never look for intentionally at a bookstore and it helps save money. also something about reading a book you know someone else has had the ownership of and had their own thoughts and emotions about is so fun. as far as fantasy im not really a huge fantasy reader but i do believe you would really enjoy mythology retellings such as circe. i think you would absolutely eat up circe and it is such a good read, or even song of achilles which is super popular but i thoroughly enjoyed too. just a sort of genre i think you would enjoy madam president lmfao

motorcycle diaries is one of the assigned readings in the first latin american history class i've ever taken (as a college freshman) and this made me so much more appreciative of the opportunity to read and discuss it with other people who were failed by the american education system (many of whom lived on the border themselves)
It was so interesting to hear Brittany talk about Che. My grandfather was from Argentina, & I grew up with a framed poster of him hanging in my grandparents' house. It was a shock to me when he was briefly mentioned in my hs world history class, and how misunderstood the description of his motivations was there. Fascinating to hear another American raised person talking about him. My Grandfather had 65 books on the man (yes, I counted), & I'm sure would've been super interested to hear how Che's story was impacting someone from the younger generations in the current day haha
I genuinely feel bad for Brittany for having her house get throttled like that but all i can see in my mind while shes explaining it is the scene from The Hobbit when all the dwarves come in and ransack Bilbos house for dinner 😭😭😭

Dude yeah!! Exactly!
THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT I THOUGHT TOO 😭😭

GIRL as a fellow romantasy lover, you NEED to read divine rivals and ruthless vows by rebecca ross! in fact anything that she writes is just *chefs kiss* IMMACULATE and she has such a beautiful writing style!! I also LOVED one dark window and two twisted crowns by rachel gillig (they have less of a romance element, but it is still AMAZING)... also sarah j maas is dropping a new crescent city book on Jan 30th, and i just know you would LOVE that series too!
I can’t recommend getting a Kindle in addition to a Libby account, it connects to your local library and gives you ebooks. I can’t recommend it enough for a money and time saver. Yes a lot of books you have to wait on to get but it gives you time to start attacking your TBR pile. Also since you travel a lot sometimes it’s nice to not carry the bigger clunkier books. If I like a book enough then I’ll buy it after the fact (also saves me a lot of shelf space) plus putting stickers all over your kindle is fun. This is coming from someone who strictly used to read physical books but honestly I love it and the transition to the screen isn’t as hard as I thought it would be.
the way the bobble heads shake intensly when she screams kills me everytime
i’m convinced rebecca yarros rushed the writing of iron flame. she talked about how stressful it was to get two books out in a year and mentioned taking more time for the rest of the series. hopefully this makes them better

Hello from Italy, I've been listening to you for a week now while driving to work everyday and I thought that nothing could make me start listening to podcasts instead of music. It feels like having a friend by my side, thank you for making me laugh. Ps: I love when you suddenly scream
I read "The Bell Jar" when I was around 16 or 17, though I can't remember the exact date. However, I do feel that unless you read it before a certain age (maybe around 25 years old), it's not going to resonate with you as much. I may be completely wrong here with that estimate, but I believe that what drew me to it so much at that young age was feeling the constrictions and subtle (or sometimes not so subtle) oppressions that society as a whole was placing on young women (and also young people in general). Now, looking back (with the hindsight of age and how we have progressed in some ways), it's not that I laugh at the naivete of my younger self, but I am comforted by the fact that the fig tree scene (if you know, you know) doesn't affect me as much. In the sense that, yes, it is grotesquely overwhelming to be faced with the multitude of choices in your life, but that's life, baby! It can be oppressing!!! But you can also fight back against those oppressions that 'society' (whatever that means) places on individuals.
Whilst it is partially true that you can only make so many choices that can determine where you end up; there are also endless possibilities within that. You can go back to college at age 40; you can be a mother AND a career women (tho not easily). You can restart a new career, or a new life at any point. Your life is not determined by the limitations of others, only by yourself and what you feel capable of doing. So, I feel that part of the book may not resonate with those who have experienced the harshness of those falsehoods and limitations placed by others. We can eat all the figs we are able to eat!! We can do as much with our life that we want to. But if you read this and it does resonate with you at all, READ THE BOOK. It's worth it - whatever age you start it at.
however I also completely resonate with the fact that when you need to read faerie P{}rn, you need to just accept and embrace that part of you 🤣🤣 Reading should be fun as well as informative! Read what you wanna read!!!
“He wants a piece of the Broski”😂😂😂 bite of boski
I'm honestly surprised our supreme leader hasn't tried to read crescent city. She seems to really love Sara J. maas's writing. Sometimes it's the writer and their style more than the story

South american/latin american/Caribbean history is always the most refreshing and eye opening topics to learn about as an american. My family is from Cuba, but I cannot ask about many famous figures without getting back misinformation and propaganda (and a lot of anger for being curious). God forbid I tell them they might be off! When I’m finished school and finally have free time outside of work I plan to finally learn spanish and learn about the regions that my family originates from. Thanks for talking about this ❤

I believe you will enjoy it and how it makes you reflect on modern day behavior, especially when you meet the “savages”. It's full of themes that you discussed throughout this entire episode, other than the dragons but there is a sense of magic! Looking forward to the next episode 😊❤
Serpents and the Wings of Night is sooo good you're gonna love it sm. It brought me back from my reading slump after finishing acotar
i love how Brittany’s tangents sound like she’s reading a watt pad story
Omg Brittany I never would have expected to hear you talking about Che on a podcast, but it's so refreshing to see you bringing him and his story to an audience that likely never would've otherwise heard about him.
Dude same 😭
I really liked the serpent and the wings of night, it’s super slow burn but I recommend it.
highly highly recommend the "Aurelian Cycle" fantasy trilogy! it features dragons, an enemies to friends to lovers slow-burn romance, but also it's written so insanely well and has so much political intrigue and talks about different ideas of revolution, it's all based on Plato's Republic. sooo fascinating, such a page turner, I finished it during the holidays and I still think about it daily
Out of all of the fantasy romance novels you mentioned, I promise “The Serpent and The Wings of Night” is INCREDIBLE ✨ It’s as if The Hunger Games, ACOTAR and The Vampire Diaries had a narrative baby - so good, as well as incredible characters & romance!
That main books in the Crowns of Nyaxia series and the standalones Six Scorched Roses & Slaying the Vampire Conqueror are exactly the type of story she wants. My favorite series I read last year and there are more books to come!
I’m reading it right now. It got me out of the acotar slump for sure
Yes!!! Imo it's the best out of all romantasy!
I am so excited to join Browski Nation while she reads ACOSF, she's gonna get exactly what she's asking for! I need her take on the AZ bonus chapter too!
Wait what bounus chapter???
okay but the Az bonus chapter was a jumpscare
Wait wait wait whattt??
there are bonus chapters from Feyre's POV, and from Az' POV! You can probably find them my googling it @@livijoy3867
For the classics section, I also recently got animal farm and 1984 because i wanted to digest it as an adult. Lord of the Flies is another school assigned reading i want to go back and review. I believe its about a group of kids being abandoned on an island and having to start a "civilization" to survive (like animal farm: it doesn't go well).
East of Eden is one of my favorite books! The religious symbolism is really thought provoking and I can't wait to see if you give us a deep dive into it 🤞
ok but can we talk about BRITTANY SINGING??? Girl we want MORE
there’s seriously nothing she can’t do she’s so powerful
@@user-bq9so4cn7t yesss literally she’s just too good for us
She’s always edging us
“And now that you don’t have to be perfect, you can be good.”

i love this podcast, when im feeling down or need to get something done it comforts me to hear brittany fill us in on quirky or soulful encounters. shes a really good storyteller and is so respectful while also being humorous. she really brings out the best in the world through her community. overall just really human and transparent as a creator.
