    From a fabulous 1970s Phase 4 recording with the excellent NPO conducted by one of the all-time greats of film music. Wonderful stuff!

      Played a different ork interpretation of this. But still wondrous. Reminds me of a great time in my life as a classical music DJ! The70s it was

    Oh! I think we played this on KTWN, the last commercial classical music station in Mpls/St.Paul, back in the 70s. Such a glorious time. Love this music.

    I cant help but wonder if Arnold Bax had lived 10 more years would HE have been David Lean's choice to score Bridge on the River Kwai and Lawrence of Arabia!
