    I love the tip you gave about negative painting a shape; to paint an easy general shape (or envelope) and then use a smaller brush to add the shape details.
    Those 2 steps take some of the fear away!
    Really wonderful teaching!
    Thanks!

    Hello Omta, it's a great question. thanks for posting it. Try enlarging the opening (the hole) of the spray nozzle with a pin. That may do the trick! It also helps depress the nozzle with short, slow movements. Practice over a piece of newsprint so you can see the spray pattern before you apply the water to your painting. Alternatively you can dampen your fingers and flick the moisture onto your painted surface. The droplets will be larger which will make interesting textures.
    Hope this helps!

    Dear Ms. Linda!
    I really like your paintings. I would like to get at least a little practice to master. If it was possible, so please write as you did underpainting and what you farbami.Vodu sprayed on semi-dry underpainting and whether there is also some paint. I do not understand. Possible for your reply thank you in advance.
    Best regards from Slovakia Anna

    Greetings Ms. Linda!
    I would like to ask that what paint you use and still have that or shapes, designs neckline and attach the image or add to a drawing layer. For example, a letter from the tree, and under it the second sheet. I do not know how to do it.
    Sorry, if you bother.
    I send cordial greetings.
    Anna

    you skipped a step! How did you get the leaves on the board/paper that are there.You did not show the most important part of the painting.

    • @rowan757
      @rowan757 Před 10 lety

      It may seem like she skipped a step, but if you understood what she meant when she was talking about how she would paint the oak leaf (with the tracing paper and sharpie) you could figure out that it's just painting the negative space AROUND the leaves, not the leaf itself. It is a negative space painting, so you're leaving that texture she built up in the first part and coming in with acrylic & painting the big shapes around the leaves, then building detail. I know she didn't specifically show that step, but it was easy to see how she did it.

    I'm sorry, but the presentation was inadequate. What materials were specifically used for the first layer before spraying with water? What's the idea of the big leaf? How did all the leaf bits and pieces suddenly appear later? Sorry to be so negative, but was not an adequate teaching tool, although the concepts were interesting.
