I grew up in Frederick , only two major issues it has is cost of living and traffic on 15 during rush hour! Crime has dropped precipitously since the downtown areas have been gentrified. I was there in 97 and there were sketchy areas on South street and John Hanson, however that’s all gone. Ballenger creek was my spot, great area, close to 270, 15 and 70. Frederick blew up after 2008 crash and was forever changed! I still love the place!
Hey thanks for giving your true local's perspective! Glad you still love Frederick even after moving away!
That’s an old pic of baker park, that weeping willow fell in a storm a couple years back. I miss that beautiful tree! 🥰
Great catch! Something only a Frederick local would know!
Thanks for great video! Just subscribed! 😊
More videos on the way!
LOL, wow stretching it for negatives. Yes, 270 traffic is terrible, been so 40 for years. Always growing.
Thanks for your comment and for watching!
I live just past the warehouse and medical park you showed. The city has been creeping towards us in the last decade. I have no problem with redeveloping downtown and the run down strip malls, but they need to stop the urban sprawl. We don't have the infrastructure for it
I haven't seen too many new projects turned down by the planning commission lately either. I predict this will continue for a while.

I just found your channel. Any suggestions for property managers for long term rentals in Frederick?
Yes, if you send me an email at eddie@showcaserei.com, I'd be happy to refer you to a PM.
Where did you get the fredco map on the wall in the background? I want one haha
I love this map haha. I can't remember the original link but this is it: tedsvintageart.com/products/vintage-map-of-frederick-county-maryland-1858/?gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjwzIK1BhAuEiwAHQmU3qDx3t4PhW0jRGYl7cAbrhIDBWMJnnbr4aGu3s3EJg39Yx5CYvLqdBoC3lwQAvD_BwE
Hey I live in Fredrick to
Too expensive that’s why I moved to Hagerstown
Hagerstown is definitely a more affordable city!
I live in Arlington, VA now, but I grew up in Frederick, was there until I was 18 before I left for the military. Frederick was the best place to grow up. I come back often to visit and it's still an amazing city.
I agree, it's an amazing city!
School overcrowding in the areas where most development is happening.
Thank you for the comment!
i live here. i want out
dont we all
@@macho_mayo true enough
Me too! The building is ridiculous. I've been here for 22 years and seeing it change has been astonishing. No longer affordable or quaint. The hospital has horrible wait times. There is not enough attention given to infrastructure. The roads are just clogged and not just at rush hour. As more people from other expensive counties continue to flock here this situation at some point needs to be addressed. Population will probably exceed 100k in 5 years.
@@richardpace5809 Yeah. Farther out into the countrier-side of frederick, out towards walkersville and others, just more and more modern houses for hundreds of thousands being built.. Pretty much every road you go down, at this point :p
I had to move for more affordable housing as I am nearing retirement. It's upsetting to be priced out of your own area. My son who was born and grew up here said he doubts that he will be able to afford to purchase here. The price of goods/services & housing does not align with the payscale of most jobs there either.
Are your eyebrows real?
As real as they get! Thanks for the compliment!
