Thanks for keeping the top 10 up to date. The technology is very impressive. My most successful lure to date has been a yo zuri crystal minnow, however for distance casting (if distance really matters) it goes to the SG Pencil. That said I've recently used the Razor Claw minnow patterns 28g, and they cast to the horizon with impressive accuracy. Now they must sink like a brick and can get snagged, which is why I use inline singles with an alternating retrieve. Cost? Less than £2. So why not have a super cheap top 10? Of course I could do it but if I did it would be the worst thing on CZcams. 👏⚽

Paul I really like your comments here. Lots to consider 1. The pencil was one to consider too but if I lived in the south west. 2. I’ve started the cheaply top 10. 3. Will check out the razor claw 4. Thanks

High Matt, thanks for the reply 👍
It's not a confidence thing, full of that, guess the fish just weren't around when I was fishing.
I think it was probably more a question of will the lures still work under certain conditions ? ie, a more visual lure in clear water working well, still having just as good a result in merky water and visa versa.
Have you noticed or made any notes on any particular points in the tide, when results might be best ? Low-up or high-down.
No matter what, will still keep plugging away ( no pun intended)
As partly down to you I now have a new rod and several new lures to try.
Although a seasoned angler, I am giving the Favourite cobalt blue a whirl, and yes leader knot is a bit techy on/ in the top guids.
      Needs gentle coxing.
      All the best. Les.

Loverly selection of lures. I always dread losing them, and I lost my zonk a couple of weeks ago! (Replaced already)
I did contemplate stripping off and going in, but was early and bloody cold. Did manage a 4lb 8oz beauty though, on a Dr Fish sub surface, I like them a lot, especially the price. 6 lures for £18.
Also recently using storm Shad weedless, I love them , cast well, great action and managed several follow ins before latching a 4lb fish right under my feet! Water was dirty, and the Shad was dark brown!
Really like the vids and tips Matt. Thanks 👍

I've only got 1 of the lures you mentioned (SG Seeker) and need to treat myself to a lighter (cheap!) lure rod if I was going to use some of the others you mentioned. I don't target Bass anyway, as a lot of the decent Bass marks locally I can't access due to health issues. Roll on 20K subscribers and that lure rod competition! Stay safe & well. 👍👍

My 1st lure out of the box always a patch gets me warmed up eye in the game , then it's the zonk but I feel you have to be careful where you fish it. Black minnow comes out if I'm fishing deep off a ledge so I can work it up and down off the bottom, really random one here dexter wedge tipped with squid caught me a few plaice. One of the biggest advantages of using single hooks on lures is the bass are easy to unhook and you get more fishing time and lastly it does less damage to the bass mouth. ( I spend a lot time in summer standing in the sea up to my waste and found unhooking a bass on 3 hooks time consuming losing valuable fishing time when the bass were going nuts, but as soon as I changed to a single hook It was far quicker to unhook and I caught more bass.)

High Matt, have just watched with great interest your choice for a top ten, some very impressive lures there indeed.
Probably a bit of a difficult task to just pick out 10, out of the hundreds that are available ? and of course i think, and hope, that I would be correct in thinking that your lure/ lures also match your location/ venue ??
I am not quite sure where you might fish for the majority of time but, you seem to be mainly in fairly clean good visibility waters ?
Unfortunately, my main area is around kent, places like Whitstable, Herne bay and the like where conditions can be very murky mucky & weedy so not the best of conditions at times.
But on calmer days it can be that little bit clearer.
Do you have any ideas or suggestions on what or might work well under such conditions ??
I do have a fairly good selection of artificials to choose from, sometimes I think that in itself is a problem, to much choice and not getting it right. Apart from finding different venues, any ideas/ suggestions for such conditions.
    Cheers, all the best,
    Les.

Hi Lee , yes I must admit I’m a bit of a clear water or nothing lure angler ! I know fish can be caught in those Kent conditions I wonder if it’s a confidence thing fish the lures in the same way but expect more missed bites in those cloudy conditions. In other words I see a lot of evidence that bass will still take a lure in your conditions

Quite often you say about changing trebles to single hooks which is fine but you're still using 3 trebles on some of the lures..? 🤔
I use mostly trebles on my shallow divers or sg seeker and tbh never had a bass with very damaged mouth, but if I buy lure with 3 trebles then middle one is off straight away.
