I wish they'd do what they did with the Masterpieces, and implement the same idea in these recent to future sets. Kaladesh was my intro-to-mtg set, and I loved it. I managed to pull a Masterpiece Chromatic lantern from buying individual boosters. I was so happy...only to eventual trade it in to my LGS for some cash. Mans gotta eat.
Opened a mana crypt masterpiece from a Kaladesh bundle. Traded it for 3 standard boxes in a stoned & drunken opening rush.
Wish I would have kept that damn masterpiece.

I've pulled 2 masterpieces from the gift boxes. My walmart randomly kept stocking some they must have had in their warehouse. I bought two, then a few days later, there were two more. Bought 6 in total for only $20 a piece. Totally worth it in the end

My partner opened an Aether Vial masterpiece from a bundle and then a Chalice of the Void from a loose Aether Revolt pack. I opened a Mox Opal from a loose pack from the same store. But I did manage to open a total of 10 Zendikar Expeditions and Amonkhet Invocations all from loose packs. :)

Kaladesh was such a joy ride for opening gambling Timmy me wishes I would have did things differently pull the Mana vault masterpiece and foil mythic rashmi in my first box then sold it and bought 3 fat packs all containing masterpieces aether vial gauntlet and some other lower value one and got rid of em all to chase the dream and thrill of opening more boxes. So much fun
You were right, 500+ a box now. Was not into Magic then, still do not play or know how but I love the cards though. Will try to buy some of these when I can afford it hopefully before they end up too expensive like most of the older stuff. Thanks for the content love the openings especially the Pokémon.
Wow no expedition lands when I got lucky 4 years ago I'd say and got 3 packs at Walmart and got 2 exp. Land cards sold both next day for 150 a pop lucky day I was having I wouldn't believe it if I didn't do it myself.

Lol I got back into Magic because I bought one Battle For Zendikar pack trying to get a cool looking Eldrazi, and pulled an expedition Blood Crypt. I looked up the card and was surprised with how lucky I was.

Why didn't Aether Revolt spiked with the kaladesh one? Is their such a big difference? I always thought they where a sibling set.
I pulled a Masterpiece Verderous Gearhulk from the Nissa starter deck, and then a Masterpiece Meekstone in a Aether Revolt fatpack.
Apparently I have great luck for finding the rarest versions of mediocre cards lol(at least, when compared to the other Masterpieces)

Kaladesh is the top box of an era (The lottery card/ pre-Eldraine). It'll always hold a special place for that reason and value: although IMO BFZ or Amonkhet were better for drafting (of the lottery card sets).
That first box in 2016 would have been so good.
Have my cloudstone curio and chalice of the void masterpiece cards still...not crazy expensive, but decent value :P

The difference in foil quality between this set and something like Commander Legends is just astounding. I have a foundry inspector foil in both and the CL one is so dark and dingy that i'll never play it.

Fun fact: UK experience buying a single from the US at Kaladesh release:
So I bought boxes as we all did, cracked em in drafts, tournaments, and for fun. Made decks. I loved my deck and wanted to pimp it a bit: I wanted a Verdurous Gearhulk Masterpiece! In Britain they were £50 sterling (about $80 at the time). Then I saw one in Ohio, US of A, for $22, reputable source too. So I bought it. Waited 2 weeks. Then got a Postman Card saying You have to pick up this item in person from the Post Office with Official ID. Ok I thought, let's go. Because the gaming store had printed a sticker on the bubble wrap envelope of the order contents, and didn't pay full shipping costs, I had to pay £8 postage and 20% tax as they knew I was importing a luxury item. It worked out only slightly cheaper than buying locally.

If one of these old lottery boxes starts handing out a ton of mythics, chances are your gonna get shafted on the lottery card itself. There are exceptions but not many.
Low odds onthe same mythic? I had an Ixalan box with only, 5 mythics all Rowdy Crew. I was soooooo pissed

First set for me was 4th revised it sucks I didnt know about magic for the first 3 sets and I dont think maryland got much of alpha beta unlimited
I opened a pack of aether revolt and got a foil rare along with a masterpiece card, it's actually a video on my channel (horrible quality though)
Kaladesh was my worst box opening experience, had a box with only 1(!) Mythic, no rare foils and even didn't open all the uncommons in the set

If you have 2 boxes, and the odds are 1 in 4 to open an Expedition, you have a 50% chance of pulling one. If you open one of those boxes and don't get an Expedition, you now only have a 33.333% chance of opening one in your 2nd box. Strange how the math changes.
Yes, I said that 25% + 33.333% (if the first one fails to find) = 50% total.
