• feature is used to split an autonomous system into smaller autonomous systems
• Peers inside the same sub-AS are considered to be confederation iBGP peers, and routers in different sub-autonomous systems are considered to be confederation eBGP peers.

Lets say that is a fourth router in the AS600 that wouldn't be placed neither in the ASN 2300 or ASN 4000, it would be place directly on the ASN 600, what would be it configuration? Let say that it would be interconnected between routers R3 and R4. Is it possible to configure BGP confederation in that scenario?
confederations only works with in the same AS , you must configure the router in the Sub-as as then bgp conferations identifier in to main AS.. if you configure AS 600 direct in that case it will not become part of the same AS , treats as other EBGP AS
for the confederation to work correctly every router should be placed on a sub-as? I can say that the proposed scenario could be a limitation in the use of bgp confederation?
