    This ramen shop is very popular for its menu that incorporates Italian ingredients and cooking methods.
    The owner is Mr. Gianni from Rome, Italy.
    Episodes such as when he came to Japan to meet his wife while traveling
    40 minutes of laughter and tears.
    Please take a look to the end.

    I'm Italian American and lived in Japan for a few years in the Marine Corps back in nineties. Ramen was always so comforting and gave us a lot of warmth on cold nights.
    Pasta is both a Chinese, Japanese and Italian obsession. Bread, meat and sauce are the same. We can days to make sauces, but it all boils down to our sense of timing, texture and taste. In Italy, there are so many regions and cultures surrounding pasta, herbs, fruits and sauce. It's wonderful to see a person embrace their work and make something beautiful that will be enjoyed by others.

    Much respect for this couple. And much admiration for Gianni. To travel to a country with such a polar opposite culture for the sake of love, truly an Italian romantic at heart! And yes his accent is still present in his Japanese but it adds to his personality, you can take the man out of Italy but you can't take the Italian out of the man. If I ever have the chance to visit Japan again will definitely visit this place.

      @kiwihermit5080 Před rokem +34

      @@wmoule I never mentioned anything regarding nationalism or other political stuff. I meant culturally Italians are more openly expressive while Japanese are extremely reserved, unless you're in Osaka or Okinawa that is. I can understand why Gianni wanted to live in the southern islands. Imagine going from living in a place where you can speak freely and cheerfully in public to a country where you are expected to be dead silent while on the train. From a culture where kissing each other is a friendly greeting to one where even holding hands with someone of the opposite sex is considered brazen.

      Hi Ed! I'm Australian, but my Stepmum is Japanese whose family live in Kobe, and she has been a part of my life since I was 6 years old (1964). I wondered what Gianni's accent would sound like as an Italian in Japan. I don't think I will ever know, but my Stepmum told me that when I spoke Japanese, I sounded like a singer when I spoke to her or her Mother or her Brother (I'm a singer coincidentally). She told me that I didn't need to over-vocalize everything. It taught me a lot and made me feel more comfortable when...attempting.. to engage with other Japanese people.
