Could you please lookup DARPA SHAPE SHIFTING WHEELS which go from fully round to triangular-tracked and back again at the touch of a button! I am pretty sure a locally-designed set could be CNC-machined to fit on your Jeep!
These were invented quite a few years back and there are numerous videos on CZcams showing them on Humvees and other off-road vehicles. Use the entire search term "DARPA Shape Shifting Wheels" on CZcams AND Google Search in order see what is being talked about! These are THE HIGH-TECH FUTURE of 4x4 Off-Road Exploration!
I also have lots of mechanical ideas on how to make the tracked AND round-wheel settings work much better on PURE ICE and have much higher ground clearances, so if you need some mechanical design inspirations I can certainly help in that regard!

Conditions have been very challenging! Thought it would get better after the cold front but definitely not. Great to see you and Curtis getting out and being safe! As always, the best storytelling and cinemas on youtube for this genre! Keep it up! 1 Million is gonna be no problem for you.
I love your channel, I stumbled upon it a couple of months ago and I love not only the excursions you go on but the cinematography is beautiful. The shots you capture in your videos are breathtaking. I’ve never been in the outback of Canada but your videos make me want to go see it for myself. Keep up the amazing work and wheel safe!
Awesome, thank you!
I have a similar issue with the piston on my hatchback when it's super cold...they tend to fail a bit...think that's more the issue than the weight on your tent. I got super stuck Saturday, Subaru fell through a 3.5 inch iced puddle...and it was pretty bad...I was sunk/stuck...then the winch cable busted...Axion left me hanging...but the Subaru kept running though slightly submerged. Buddy with a 4 runner came to get us...he had to tie off to winch me out. My 12 year old did well...I use a wheelchair, so wasn't much I could do...next time only going full send when I have another vehicle with me...😊 Thought of you when I was stuck and wishing your team of brothers were there...lol. My friend Scott dropped what he was doing and brought his family to come save us. Great to have good friends. - Mike
Glad you got out safe! The tent issue was just wet snow on top. Was hard to get it all off.
ay the infamous Michael in the wild, funny seeing your comment here, from Crosstrek N Stuff!
@@coderre.22😊 small world... hope you are doing well... I did learn to not go full send alone... lol...🎉
That's what we call quality videos
You deserve million subscribers
bro deserves 1million subscribers at the very minimum off the strength of the Video Quality and cinematic nature of each vid alone. He's cool af and his videos look great... He deserves alot more.
🙏🙏
Man, I want to hang out with you guys! You’re always having fun and overcoming adversity with positive attitudes. The harder it is, the more fun it is to accomplish. I’m definitely jealous.
Nice fart at 4:20 🤣
weather is off her meds this year! You are doing great making interesting content, hiccups and all! I recommend your videos all the time! Blazing new snow is always a lets go!
Thanks! The hiccups are part of the fun!
As soon as you take the tracks off in frustration and put your wheels back on there will be one massive dump of snow.
Dude! I know! That's exactly what's going to happen to me lol. I almost put tires on last week, then it dumped 2 feet at my house so I drove around town on tracks instead and it was too much fun.
I saw that. Looked like fun. @@TheStoryTillNow
Totally get it, hasn’t been a good year for snow wheeling. Thank you for sharing the views which were amazing
Always the best tunes in your cinematic parts
Man what beautiful winter views! Another banger! 🔥🔥
Shaun, your videos are unmatched! Great adventures, and visually unbelievable! Movies can't even create videos as beautiful as yours. Great job sir!
That waterfall scene at the 20 minute mark was stunning! Thanks for sharing.
That lake is called heart lake the road washed out bad in 2004 that was the last time I made it in. There's an old mining camp at the Lake if you continue to the end of that Rd there's a little mine in the hill. It's a beautiful volcanic lake.
A lot of bridges up there have been repaired but I think the road that goes closest to the lake is probably not passable. I’m going to have to go back on tires to explore more.
I can't wait to see it. It's a super cool spot. In the summer there's little salamanders in the lake.@@TheStoryTillNow
Awesome video as always Shaun. Something times a road block can be a good thing because you find something unique and spectacular. Also your Tracked Gladiator is so epic.
lol rocking that I hate @casey ladelle shirt
Great ride in the extreme frozen winter landscapes.
great shots as usual--keep it up!
Another great outing.. those tracks are sick for sure. Thanks for the video
Great shots! That waterfall with all the ice was killer!
19:50 looks like something straight out of a movie…
AMAZING!!!
Freaking LOVE that rig! I just finished my diy camper build (just posted the video a few days ago) and I'm stoked to get out and explore some of the FSRs up here in the Thompson Okanagan! Thank you for being an inspiration!! Subscribed years ago, excited to see you hit 1M soon 😊
Nice! I'll check out your camper build.
I always anticipate your videos. Loving the peace and sense of adventure i get even when im not out there with you guys. Amazing cinematography. Hopefully i can get my life together enough to have a jeep again in 10 years and get out there to explore.
Those waterfall and ice shots wear amazing. Great video even on a bad day.😊
Your videos are always so good man. Loved this one, the drone shots at the end are insane.
Often times the most memorable experiences are the ones we never planned for.
Just wanna say that I have been following you through it all. Your growth personally and as a CZcamsr is amazing to see. Keep putting out amazing material… catch you on the trail… NorthAmerica

Thank you so much that means a lot to me.
Love the Content brother! I dont know how you're not at 1 Million yet! Keep it up!! Much love and Respect from Oregon!
❤WOW an epic video, the drone shots of the waterfall were absolutely amazing
Amazing Cinematography
Love the video and that track Jeep. The views/waterfalls and scenery next morning are fantastic!
Thanks 👍
i have doing offroad ATV on tracks for years. As in your video tracks are meant for deep snow. Its like a snowmbolile, sliders wear out and I swiched back to 2.5" swamper tires. I can get through most any snow
4th scenario just make sure to get a good run at it!!! lol nice work Shawn 🏁🏴☠
Man now that was a trip.very beautiful that's what made the trip for sure.
Those drone shots are amazing!
Your rig looks awesome in the darkness with its lights on!
Those ice shots are insane…
You Do have some Beautiful country up there !! I have been to and seen ice like that in Vermont where my Outlaws live(mother and father-in-law)🤣 Thanks For The Ride !!❤👍
Most canadian thing to say ever "we can fit a tims box here" lol ... much love from kelowna !
Your drone shots are fabulous. Your background music is awesome. Way to go!
Glad you enjoyed it!
You changed up your wrap again already?! Looks great though and looks like you're having a lot of fun with those tracks.
Awesome! I went up to the hot springs Jan 6th, had fun with some snow wheeling. So surprised there wasn't more snow up there with the dump we just had.
When looking over the maps of the area I saw that same small alpine lake and wondered if it's possible to get up there... I'd be happy to join you if you head up in the spring/summer. Cheers.
19:45 O. M. G 😮 My focus was just straight ahead at the ice on the wall .. but.. then something caught completely off-guard at the left-hand, in the corner off my eye and ... I stood there myself!! 😳 Shaun!!! THAT is TRUE cinematography at its core !!!
My word! Giving a 3D experience through a camera is SOOO HARD, and you, together with the phenomenal gift of Story telling..
Exept CZcams, please go and find classes in cinematography, both camera and drone!
Learn about frog and bird angles (although you master those already!) And expand more!
You are Soo creative!
You should realize how much a great cameraman these days get paid, and have YT next to it, you have truly multiple gifts my friend!
Plus, driving and freedom, yeah.. you have options 💪😎💯
Also, I think that you could be better off with another brand of tracks, the other once are beefier, all terrain, better suitable for your Country (imo) but those are crazy expensive, sadly. Well, maybe one day, right ☺️
Mén! I'm still blown away by that shot you made! Gosh dang!! 🧨
Thanks!
That ice is incredible! I would love to see something like that someday.
Love your videos. Hi from Finland
great video again, ty! what red light do you use inside the gladiator?
Love the scenery. The water fall and ice was amazing. Better luck next time for more snow.
Great video as usual. That propane campfire with the huge tank is so yuppy though man.😂
The cinematography is perfect as always! As an audio engineer, I gotta say… I miss your voiceover voice/identity on this one. But as always, your videos are incredible and top notch!
Your videos are so awesome to watch & make me want to be in the mountains!! Incredible waterfall at the end!!
Glad you like them!
Spectacular ice flows
Amazing videos!
19:37 No snow but WOW you had some EPIC breathtaking frozen waterfall
killer video, your CGI skills are on point! ;)
Fantastic video.
Dude your drone shots are awesome!!
Thank you!
The ice at 19:45… 😮❤
Really loved the music at the end of the video. Really awesome
Man, I love the videos and the effort and work that no one notices behind the scenes. Continue to impress us. But do you manage to get further with these snow tracks than with tires? I don't know, they look cool, but I think they're limiting your abilities and those of this incredible beast😁p. s. Sorry for my bad english... Greetins from Bulgaria. A lot of fans here❤️
WOW WOW WOW and what a nice rig
Beautiful location!
🤗💙🙏🏆
Thank you for sharing this
Amazing ⭐️😎🤩
Dude, that water fall was epic!
great vidio folks that ice was amazing! The reason they say beautiful B.C. 😊
Not much snow , but beautiful scenery!!
With what you keep doing pushing the envelope, you should look up Howe and Howe tech.
Not saying you need that, i just think you would appreciate it.
Look at their ripsaw they built on tracks.
And another awesome video, BC is a place I'd love to see 1 day. That waterfall❤❤❤
You guys are living my dream. Y’all inspire me to keep creating content, and hopefully one day reach y’all’s level.
If I could sub twice I would!! Keep up the awesome content! 🙌
Man all your shots are unreal! I have a question about your drone shots following your car - do you fly it manually or use one of the automated follow modes with obstacle avoidance turned on? Specifically the aerials that are below the tree line following the road.
That waterfall was amazing. I could have watched a whole video on that
Love the shirt!
Rather than using tracks, could you have a go at using bigger sized tyres, like the ones they used in one of the TG Arctic specials years ago. Love the content. Keep it going!!
From Russia with ❤, great content, thks man!
I will never understand why this channel does not have millions of subscribers
Hey.. we bought those red snow shovels too
Time to swap back to tires. This is just not the winter for tracks unfortunately.
You could have gone further with your 40’s air down.
But I know I’m telling you stuff you already know. 🤙🏼 Still a fun vid none the Less 😊
Wow awesome video..
Hi from Indonesia
What brand are your lights underneath your jeep?
Can you discuss how your "process" has improved... or not, since you began trailering your rig to the trailhead vs. driving the rig however many miles to the trailhead? Pros, Cons... Thank you!!!
Towing is a bit limiting in the winter due to poor highway conditions. That's the only real downside, and a bit more work. It's just a different way of doing things. Instead of airing up or airing down, it's loading or unloading the deck. Also have to make sure I get back to the truck after, and not end up in a different city haha. Most of our trails are in and out though so not really an issue there.
Watching from Monterrey, Mexico City of mountains
Greetings from Croatia! 🙋♂️
Dude that is a kick ass water fall
what is the red light you're using on the ceiling inside of your jeep? it looks sick!
I see you have axle straps to tie the Jeep down which is awesome, but bro......Get yourself some tie down straps with a spring loaded clasp on each end. With your current setup you will eventually loose a strap due to shifting and or vibration. With clasps on each end of your ratchet straps, even if the straps loosen they won't fall off. Check out Macs out of Idaho.
Brutally honest review from a really long time follower of your channel: The tracked Jeep videos have been almost completely unrelatable for me. I love the cinematography and I'm sticking around mostly for those amazing and beautiful scenes in your videos these days, but I'm finding myself skipping through most of the tracked Gladiator content. It's completely unobtainable for me so it's not something I look at and think "That could be me someday".
Watching you have adventures with the trail wrecker on treads is awesome. But between the breakdowns at the beginning and the limitations that you’re experiencing. Leads me to believe that number one I don’t know if I would ever put these on my jeep. Number two it would be more adventurous for you to put your wheels and tires back on. Many of the trails that you start to go on. These treads cause you to just turn around. Where if you had your wheels and tires. At least in previous episodes. You would’ve kept on going, even if the trail seemed impassible.
Yes but that’s only because the conditions aren’t right for the tracks in this video. Which was unexpected. On the flip side, there was hills that would have been very sketchy with tires.
@@TheStoryTillNow I see your point. I agree. I do love all of your videos no matter what you’re doing. Especially the ones that you involved your family. I can’t wait until your daughter is old enough to go out on these adventures with you. More than likely she will be even more daring than you are. Lol.
Keep up the great work! Keep giving us awesome content.
Myself I wonder if the other brands are a little more robust and durable. The weather though in BC has been so crazy, from freezing arctic cold, to no snow, to a massive dump, and now back to super warm. The interior is going to be crazy in a few days. Love your vids keep it up! Happy Trails.
@@magicalone22 there’s definitely more durable options with suspension tech and such, but they cost as much as a whole jeep. That’s not an investment I’m interested in. The issue of wheel breaking off isn’t a problem with the tracks, it’s a problem with the driver going places without enough snow and hitting rocks. That’s not what they’re made for.
@@magicalone22 there may be other brands. But I have watched plenty of videos with these tracks. Whether they’re on jeeps, trucks, or even side-by-side. All video show people having their own issues. In this video, the story till now. He is right by saying that they are meant for snow and only snow. I have never personally controlled the vehicle or even rode in a vehicle with them. But by observation of the videos that I’ve watched. Like my comment above. The very limited amount of chances that you’re going to be able to drive in, and at great distance, a terrain that these are meant for. I just don’t see how they would be practical. I do love that he is willing to try different things. But on many occasions, while having these tracks on.his trail wrecker continues to get wrecked on the trail.
Let me start by saying that I love your videos and I’m a huge fan of the channel. The tracks make for interesting videos. What I will say is that I think it is time to consider going back to the tires cause while the tracks were cool and unique, they just aren’t the most universally capable or reliable. Big fan of the video though. Keep up the good work!
Those rollers must limit track speed. The original MINI had to use specifically designed tires for highway speeds without 'overexpanding'. The system may be as good as it gets given weight and space....
Frickn spectacular scenery (tires or not...)
Shuan, contact Casey LeDell he has a heavier duty set of tracks that may be more what your looking for in a track. He put them on his Ram work truck (with the utility Box on the back) he has said that they are better than the old tracks he had on his Jeep. (they are expensive though)
You see those wide tracks on Diesel Bros recent video? Looked awesome, but you could hear the engine being overworked.
Those are cool but they’re heavy, and won’t fit on a normal trailer. Lots of problems to get around to actually run them. No problem for someone like Heavy D though haha.
Is track time over yet?
Great video !
So besides the tracks looking cool. What’s the benefit ? Seems they are very limited, why not just use wheels and tires and stop stressing ?
No stress here, I’m having a blast. The benefit is going further than tires can. On this particular trip, as I mentioned, it just wasn’t the right conditions.
Impresionante el vídeo
Do you find that style light bar has any less whistle than the standard 50"?
Doesn't whistle at all for me.
2 Things. I need to know what color grading your using. 😍
And where in Canada are you.
hello TSTN love from India
Do they use tire chains there?
What FSR is that? Looks like you might be near Squamish.
