This chorus reminds me of Doom, Devil May Cry, Bayonetta, Dark Souls mixed with a bit of FF14 on top.
this is the first trilogy that handong will fully participate in since nightmare era! i think thats why she got so much more focus in this mv for this comeback. plus her vocals are rarely front and center but shes an incredible singer so im so happy they chose to give her more lines and attention this time!

Handong is absolutely crushing it. She's so good and I'm so happy she's getting some love
Handong has had a MAJOR glow-up since her return to Dreamcatcher. Prior to her year in China she was consistently the least popular member, and usually received the fewest lines. The old styling team really didn't know what to do with her either, as her looks in "You & I", "What" and "Piri" were just...not good (she HATED her look in "You & I", especially her hair). Now, however, she seems to basically be EVERYONE's bias wrecker (including mine). The current styling team at Oui Oui built upon Dongie's looks in China (done by the staff of Youth With You 2, her agency in China Catfish Entertainment, or Dongie herself during her long wait in Wuhan), and after her return to Korea, she has simply never looked better than she does now.

Their trilogy is about apocalypse. Maison was about the environment. I think Vision is about war. They said that singing love songs gets boring, they want heavier messages. They want to tackle the subject of violence someday. Rock is perfect for this. Dreamcatcher has perfected their sound and concept. 1st win got them confidence. I'm excited for the future.

Hm, I’m not sure I agree about this song specifically being about war by itself. This song seems much more to be about fighting back against those who perpetuate the destruction of the planet. “They don’t have a reason” and the lines about karma make me think the enemy has no morals to protect or fight for while DC does. I assume this is the response to “please someone fight for us.” Now, DC/the “I,” “us,” and “we” in Maison are fighting for the Earth’s survival.

Dreamcatcher Company just know how to produce amazing music for Dreamcatcher. I mean honestly, none of their discography has missed, and their team, particularly LEEZ and Ollounder, who have been writing their songs since debut, are phenomenal writers and composers. They know how to keep that classic Dreamcatcher sound, but making it fresh every single year. Also, this comeback had a lot of Jiu, Sua, and Handong, and I'm here for that~~

Sadly LEEZ is departing the Dreamcatcher team to become music director at a new company, Hi-Hat Entertainment (assuming he just wanted a change or Hi-Hat made him too good an offer to turn down). Ollounder is staying and I am sure he will bring in some of his colleagues like Maddox to work with him in the future. But we'll miss LEEZ since he has been there since "Chase Me"...
@@Vektorix28205 Was it confirmed that Leez left production team? I mean, I saw that he signed contract with Hi-Hat but I don't think I saw news that he will not produce songs for DC anymore. So there is still a chance to have him in future songs. Will see in future news or in next comeback credits

@@bigparadox9093 Considering it was announced that LEEZ has an "exclusive contract" with Hi-Hat I think we HAVE to assume that that means he will not be working with any other companies - I mean that's the very definition of "exclusive". When Dreamcatcher's original choreographer Choi Sun-hi signed an exclusive contract with SM after "Piri", she had to stop working with Dreamcatcher (which was a blessing in disguise since we got Hwang Sooyeon as her replacement). LEEZ MAY have contributed to the NEXT Dreamcatcher comeback before signing with Hi-Hat - after all these songs are written months in advance. But unless we hear otherwise - and I legit don't think that we will - I think we have to assume that his time as Dreamcatcher co-composer/co-producer is over.
June One was such a great pick for this comeback as a producer. His style and sound match up so well with Dreamcatcher's powerful vocals.
JiU has this to say in a recent interview: “We feel a sense of pride that we’ve pioneered this rock sound and dark genre as a girl group. Now that we’re seeing more rock elements in K-pop idol music again, we feel like we made the right decision to stick to our unique sound. If the music is good, the time for it to shine comes eventually.”
You are sooo right on this. So many other groups are trying to do what DC has been doing all along. And to some extent, doing it very well (Billlie, Pink Fantasy, Pixie)

I can barely describe what this song makes me feel, the chorus makes me straight up wanna march with them, the energy and aura of this song is off the charts. Easily one of my favourite Dreamcatcher songs, it embodies their signature sound and strengths to the maximum while once again doing something new and exciting. The girls are simply IT, they are in a whole damn league of their own.

There was a new face on the composition for the title track in addition to LEEZ and Ollounder - June One of indie rock band Glen Check. The influence of this new person was clearly felt because I felt they really returned to their hard rock roots a bit while still innovating on their new hybrid sound - it was like June One injected a new flavor into what has been already reliable production for the group. The result is a track that never lets up while still being thematically consistent with their intended storyline. MAISON remains my favorite title track musically because I felt it was a compilation of how their sound has evolved, but VISION clearly decides to lean harder into Dreamcatcher's earlier, grittier roots and it shows. Those of us who were fans checked out Glen Check's work when we heard of the credit, and tracks like "Acid Rain", "Dazed and Confused", "Sins", and more got me super excited about what a "dark techno/industrial rock/metal" track would sound like from Dreamcatcher. I wasn't disappointed, and was glad you weren't either. Thanks again as always for the cinematography and film breakdown, it really makes it even more enjoyable.

I definitely agree. It's their best MV and probably one of my favorite MV I've ever seen in kpop. I'm a gamer so the style of the MV speaks to me on a personal level.
My personal favourite MV is Deja Vu due to it be a really coloured visual storytelling it looks like a really nice fashion portfolio shot, other than that structurally and statistically I think this is the best video it have such a power to it and going forward I think they should keep up this kinds of visual

Handong is so powerful in this comeback. And SuA has a rap part when its supposed to be Gahyeon’s part. And I love the fact that they chose to go up at the end of “Ill give you a vision” instead of going down. So cool, 10/10 for me

@@HungLe-br9cw SuA rapped in "BEcause"; Gahyeon has said that since she became sub-rapper it has been entirely up to LEEZ & Ollounder as to whether she would rap in a song or not, and she doesn't expect rap lines the way she does singing lines. SuA's interest in rapping seems to have revived due to her fun side-project with Siyeon and Yoohyeon, Yaja Time, where she was THE rapper. But I know SuA has spent MUCH more time on vocal training the last few years, partly as a means to protect her vocal cords (which have nodules that are slowly degrading her ability to sing) but also to get to the level where she is a credible soloist, opening up opportunities for OSTs like the one she recorded this summer.
I actually couldn’t believe my ears when i heard dami singing in the chorus. Her voice is so unique and great for this type of music. And this song is so catchy ughh.
The fact that Handong got more lines PLUS more screen time makes me so happy, shes wayy too underrated
Maddox helped write this song, so a lot of throwbacks to Ateez's Gureilla. This track was so LIT. I had shakes and started tearing up in excitement on my first listen, definitely my favorite cb since Scream. I look forward to the listening party! Fairytale supremacy!

I know a lot of people in the comment section are still on the MAISON hypetrain, but while I liked it, back then I was more excited about Dreamcatcher's b-tracks from that album, especially everyone's individual solo efforts. So for me, MAISON sort of got buried under all that. But VISION is a different beast all together. It's grabbed me much harder than MAISON did and I'm really digging it. FAIRTTALE is alright, but I think the effect was solely placed on the title this time, as you can just tell the amount of care that went into it both audibly and visually. On the production side of things, I think the girl's hair and costumes are far better than the previous comeback as well, especially for Handong, Yoohyeon, and Dami (for me). They are OWNING this song. The visual style is similar to MAISON, but there is just enough, I don't know what to call it... cyberpunkness to it that it's just that tad bit different. I like the military uniforms they have...which is a not so subtle poke at world leaders who are more concerned at measuring dicks than to care for the planet they live on. SO yeah. Those are my thoughts on VISION.

17:35 I'm glad to hear someone else screaming that besides me; I haven't been able to get that out of my mind every time that shot comes up. It's her muscle definition that she talks about feeling self-conscious about (even though she admires Siyeon's definition) and I want her to get the message that Insomnia don't know anyone on their half of the planet that doesn't appreciate that is what makes her stand out from all the other absurdly gorgeous women she hangs out with all the time. Awesome breakdown of cinematography too, btw.
She knows. Her stylists have posted on their Instagrams complementing Dongie's tone and strength, and I told her basically that at the Los Angeles fan sign in July. She knows. She's just self-conscious about it and is still growing in her self-confidence compared to where she was before her year in China.
I never thought I'd say this, but I have a new favorite Dreamcatcher song. "Vision" has eclipsed "You and I" for me. It gives me an energy I've only gotten from my favorite dubstep live sets. The song is heavy, and the production is freaking amazing! It's like BTSM and Sullivan King meshed into a kpop song...utterly incredible.

OMG! I can't believe I have finally found someone in this fandom that still remembers the absolute bop that is You and I! It's my favorite song from DC too and tho I'm head over heels for Vision atm and both Deja Vu & Endless Night are my other top 3, nothing can top You and I for me, it's such a perfectly crafted song that we'll never see again because it represented a very specific time in their career that is gone now. But Vision is fantastic, June One completely went for it!!!

It's a wonderfully crafted piece of music and JiU's part in the bridge is why she's my favorite to this day, but Vision just gets me so... freaking... hyped. I added it to my dubstep Playlist and it just slots in perfectly, same over the top energy. I freaking love it so much.

Vision has become my favorite track with each listen. The trick is to ju- DAMI CHORUS
I believe dreamcatcher have been doing their albums in trilogies, (just like how there were 3 Dystopia albums/EPs) and now they are on their second EP for Apocalypse, and the theme for this trilogy is being eco-friendly. If they continue to follow this pattern then there will be one more release related to this eco-friendly movement and then they will move onto a new concept. Dreamcatcher have these different eras, they started out with the Nightmare era, and then Dystopia and now Apocalypse, and it is so amazing and well thought out how coherent their discography comes together. It also seems like Dreamcatcher and their entire team have this new confidence since they got their first win with Maison. I'm so happy they are finally getting the recognition they deserve :)
VISION is truly next level Dreamcatcher. Like my god. They came to wreck this year. Phew. AND HANDOOOOONG 🤯

i feel like they're branching out what a dreamcatcher is. Before it was about the dreams we have in our sleep but now its more on the dreams we want to achieve in reality. Dreamcatchers basically trap your nightmares, but now, when applying it to reality, they're protecting our dreams we want to reach which is why I think it extended to protecting earth and nature like in Maison, but its being tied off well by Vision since protecting our home gives hope and opportunity to the future generation to continue on forward. That's what it feels like to me.

I used to be really into Industrial, and that phase came after my goth rock phase, so this comeback feels SO STRONG to me. It really hits hard right from the beginning, and every member gets a chance to shine. Love love love it. I do personally love the Deja Vu MV more, because it feels like a short film rather than an MV, but this MV is also brilliant.
I love the rock being harder this time around. I think one of the members said it (recently?) that people know Dreamcatcher for their rock, so they should keep doing it (instead of trying to switch it up, which they do for B-sides but the title is always focused on a rock-y sound) and I totally agree. I'll take 100 variations of No More over a non-rock title track 🔥

the new album has been #1 in lots of countries and vision's been at the top of charts in korea despite some of the big comebacks that have happened at the same time/recently so i am extremely excited about this era. as a metalhead and rock fan this is the dreamcatcher i love. the more poppy stuff is amazing stuff too!! BEcause is one of my top titles from them. vision is just. . . it ignites my soul.

Same core team. They brought in a couple of friends to help. The arrangement was mostly by a guy from Glen Check, a Korean indie rock band. He also worked on the composition. Maddox, a young solo singer, worked on the lyrics. He's done a lot of work for Ateez as have LEEZ and Ollounder so they know him from there.
They use light sticks to light the faces dynamically. You can see the reflection of the lightstick in Jiu's eyes on her extreme close up. If you watch the making of videos for their MV's you can see how they do this.

I think this song and mv are everything I could ever want out of a Dreamcatcher comeback, I am not sure it can get any better than this. And yes, that means I like it better than Maison. And as an almost lifelong fan of Nine Inch Nails and Rammstein, I appreciate the nod.
There's also a taste of Cyberpunk 2077's trailer song on Vision as well. I personally think Vision trumps Maison and my god, it's climbing up my favorite DC songs list.
Only time will tell if it knocks off my eternal favorite Full Moon, but it's definitely in that upper echelon.

Love this comeback so much. As long time Insomnia its just so great to have those guitars in place. Vocals and visuals on point too.
PD as usual so detailed and spot on with your enthusiasm and technical/professional break-down of the video production. I knew PD would pick up on the fixing of the greenscreen lighting and the progressive angled shot sequences for verse/chorus. And picking up correctly the narrative for the focus for low angle shot = threatening and high angle shot = vulnerable. A classic mix of zoom and dolly shots are used too. Dreamcatcher needs PD as next video producer.
Honestly I agree, this is their best mv! I've listened to this 100+ and I'm not tired! they've always done rock with probably 60+ genres, it's insane how versatile they are!

I know people loved Maison, but it's actually one of my least fav Dreamcatcher TTs (still fantastic though), but I love how this has a heavier instrumental,The guitar omg I LOVE it! And I love the beat during Dami's rap. This comeback did NOT disappoint. I am so happy seeing how Dreamcatcher is j getting better and better. The quality of everything has gone up SO much.

I've been following Dreamcatcher since WHAT era. Definitely agree that this is their best MV. My favorite title track is still Deja Vu, favorite b-side is Black or White, and favorite special song BEcause. I wasn't a fan of MAISON but I respect the direction the girls and their team are going in. Dreamcatcher is the only group I follow that genuinely excites me. They're phenomenal and I'm so glad they're finally getting recognition for their insane skills and hard work.

In fact not only Maison is eco-friendly themed. Their album Apocalypse: save us from which Maison is, is just a beginning of their trilogy "Apocalypse". Maison was about climate crisis and Dreamcatcher were calling us to take some actions to stop it. Now they released second album in that trilogy named Apocalypse: follow us. Vision still talks about climate change, although here Dreamcacther talk about war as well. They realized that no one will fight for them so they need to fight for themselves. That's how we got from Save us to Follow us. They're calling upon us, now not only to take some actions, they're calling us to join them in the battle for the better world. They're concept is so unique in kpop, they talk about so important topics!

Part 2 of the Apocalypse Series deals with War. The V for Vision has a double meaning. V for Victory in War, or V for Peace. Also JiU is shown again as a dual character. Herself and her Doppelganger, as she did in Fly High, Piri and BEcause. Her brooding dark soldier shots are about that. This time this represents our choices as Humanity: The Goddess or the Soldier? And how about Rabbit President JiU being portrayed as a Witch? How Manhua is that? And isn't that a reference to the Witch Academy in Fly High?
In the end, the same Goddesses from Maison descend from the heavens and fight for Peace and call us to follow their Vision of Peace, while those who follow the Vision of Victory oppose them. In the End, Dami deploys the shields around the planet.
With what's happening in the World today, all this is such an important message. And only Dreamcatcher dare to call the world out on this. How punk is that?

I like everything about this more than the Maison comeback, honestly. That said, Fairytale (the B-side to Vision) is the song to end all songs from Dreamcatcher. Vision is amazing and is in my top 5 title tracks. The video is leaps and bounds better than Maison’s was, but I do miss some of the practical effects they used to use back in the Nightmare era, and even Dystopia era. I see what they’re going for, I respect it, I appreciate it, but I hope they pull back a touch on the green screen in the future.
