I love Freese & FF but he's still playing this song just slightly "different". 😅 He's a great drummer but I don't understand how he can't figure it out from listening to the album version. 🤷♂️ Nearly every drum cover of MWrench on YT plays it more correctly than Freese. I don't know if he's doing it on purpose or just thinks his version is better? 🤷♂️ It ruins the song for me because I know that drum part front to back in my head.
@@pandasarevicious I never stated anything at all about me being better but I could certainly sit with him for 5 minutes and point out the parts he's doing wrong. Any real drummer who knows the album version of the song compared to his live version can pick it out. Perhaps you don't know the album version of Monkey Wrench very well...??
@@MusicWizard85 I’m gonna guess his version is just fine, considering the man who wrote the song and played on the record stands in front of him and listens to it every night. It’s not “wrong.” It’s just different from the record. If Dave is cool with it, so am I. And I’m gonna assume he’s cool with it. Otherwise Josh would be playing it exactly like the record. And yes, I know the song. I’ve played it.
@@pandasarevicious Thank you for proving my point that it's "different from the record". Taylor played it more like the record albeit not 100% exact. Josh is not Taylor and I expect him to do his own thing with some songs to an extent. I was simply making a harmless observation. It's not a put down. I love Josh Freese as a drummer. He was great in APC and slayed when I saw him live with NIN. I have nothing but respect for him. It's just a minor harmless gripe. Like you stated Dave obviously doesn't care but music is subjective and I care. No harm no foul.✌️
