  • Hey! This DIY deep moisturizing face cream is made with green tea so its full of antioxidants and is great for revitalizing your skin. I love this recipe because it is easy to make and it makes my skin feel so nourished. I apply it 1-2 hours before bed as a night moisturizer because this allows it to absorb without rubbing off on my pillows ♡
DIY green tea face moisturizer recipe:
    - 1 Tbsp wax www.iherb.com/frontier-natural...
    - 2 Tbsp coconut oil
    - 3 Tbsp almond oil www.iherb.com/now-foods-soluti...
    - 1/2 tsp vitamin e oil www.iherb.com/rexall-sundown-n...
    - 1-2 tea bags organic green tea
    - 5 drops essential oil - I used lavender for its nice smell and skin regenerating properties but you could use for instance eucalyptus, rosemary or tea tree oils for acne, or others for any other effects - a good chart is: www.naturesgift.com/aromather...
Melt the oils and wax. Pour in green tea sachet while oil is still on heat & leave for 10-15min before straining through cheese cloth. Then whip the strained liquid with an electric beater until it is room temperature and creamy. Store in a jar in a cool dry place, should last until finished because it primarily consists of oils.
I hope you enjoyed this video ♡

Thanks so much for this great recipe! Love all of your creative submissions and their simplicity. My skin is prone to be oily so I actually thinned my mixture with aloe vera after it was mixed and then remixed. It works great and has a good shelf life. Kudos!

I love this cream! I just made mine last night and woke up with soft yummy skin!!! I added something extra that I believe you would love as well...dried hibiscus flowers. Did you know that hibiscus flowers have a huge amount of polyphenols in them which is great for anti aging AND has more antioxidants then the green tea does! So I gave your recipe an extra kick and It is UHmazing:) Thank you!

P01029 has made a good point about the Coconut oil and beeswax. Cocoa Butter and Coconut butter is 4 on the comedogenic scale of 1-5, I am assuming that coconut oil would have a similar output, you can substitute it with safflower or sunflower oils which are both 0 on the scale (also 0 on the irritant scale). Although you may need to increase your wax a little to compensate for using the softer oils. Substitute Carnuba wax (1 on the scale) for the beeswax (0-2 on the scale), you could also use Ceresin wax (0 on the scale), or even Lanolin wax (1 on the scale). It is my understanding that using the teabag should be ok because you are not mixing it with water you are mixing it with the warm oils. This would equate with making oil infusions which should be fine for at least 6 months. The teabags would only be problematic if you were to mix it with undistilled water (which may have contaminants in it). This recipe doesn't ask you to brew the teabags in water it asks you to mix the tealeaves with the oil and leave for 15 minutes, then you are required to filter it out of the mix. Vitamin E is actually a preservative as well as being a great addition to a moisturiser, so that should help to keep things fine. The five drops of lavender oil which the recipe calls for and of which you should only be using a very small proportion of each day shouldn't damage your skin in that small amount unless you have an allergy to it. Change it to another Essential Oil if you prefer. Please listen to all the advice people offer, it is a fabulous and generously offered starting point for you, then do your own research, get all the facts and then you can make your fully informed decision. Then make your cosmetics, personalise them to suit yourself and enjoy them!

First please use the comedogenic rating as guideline not a rule because the scientist use rabbit ear as subject so you can tell why the list flawed, i mean read the review from the internet, so many people use coconut oil on their skin with no problem, so try it yourself to see if the oil block your pore or not
And second vitamin e is anti oxidant not preservative

Oh my goodness, I usually don't enjoy seeing pretty youtubers because it makes me feel really bad about myself, but you have this loving, nervous aura. Oh my god you're so cute, ah its killing me.

Thank you ! This is true. Coconut oil helps my face a lot! It depends on your body! Before using products on your face, test them on your arm, or your hand!
