One thing I learned after making the video is that the light sensor only works in Auto mode, it will turn the LEDs off and turn the fan down to silent mode. I like to keep the fan on high mode and occasionally on turbo so for me that makes the light sensor useless. I tried covering the air quality light with various tapes and it either would do nothing or completely black it out so I ended up covering the frosted light cover with a black sharpie and also the clear lens with the sharpie as well and it’s cut down the light enough that it’s not blinding in the dark. For the control panel LEDs I cut little squares of duct tape (I had to use two layers) and put them over the LEDs. You can still see the light through them but it’s not nearly as bright. Since I leave it on 24/7, every so many days the clean filter light blinks but I noticed if you open the panel and then close it the light goes off as the pre-filter only seems to need vacuumed every few weeks in my situation. Any time the unit is off, when it comes back on it will say the air is bad for 10 or 15 minutes even when before I shut it off it said it was fine so I’m not sure how well the air quality sensor actually works. I’m very happy with how quiet it is, how much air it moves, the build quality, long lasting filters, and features however it isn’t able to do to much as far as the downstairs loser neighbors’ stench is concerned. (Hopefully that’s a problem Bill Gates can solve for us!)

Once Bill blocks out the sun, that will solve all our problems. Bill is so caring.

Great review man! Thanks to your video, I bought this as a Christmas gift today for a loved one!
Btw I can definitely guess your downstairs neighbor's political affiliation LMAO!
    God bless you, my friend!

I'm glad it helped. The best part is I noticed they wear masks when walking outside and into their car even when it's just one all by themselves. I wouldn't be surprised if they wear them indoors as well. If only they figured out bathing and having hygiene would do a lot more to help them than wearing a mask 24/7. Maybe the next government mandate will be daily baths (that one I'm all for.)

Just got mine a few days ago! I thought this was product made from a Bullshit artist, so I tested it. I put it on Auto and let it filter my room in until the light was blue. Eventually, when your air doesn't need filtering it goes into a sleep mode. So I smoked a whole cigarette and it lit up real quick and went straight to red and ran in high speed. This product does indeed do what it says.

It releases ozone I saw in one video about Himalayan salt lamps

Do you have central air? If so, get your air ducts, cleaned and sanitized that will help.

So what you’re saying is that you live in the top floor of a pea-try dish, and yes I could see the need to figure out where the air enters your living space from the rest of the mushroom growing experiment house. I would believe that you made a good choice buying the AlexaPure Breeze, I bought mine used from a guy that said he had five cats and he was kind enough to leave the used filters in the unit and he didn’t have to tell me about the cats, I am allergic to cats and I knew within seconds of turning it on. I could almost taste the barbecue feline because if I had cats that close to me they would already be skinned and seasoned on the stove ready to be my dinner guests.

I’ve had mine for a few days now but I find auto function does not work. When you first put it on auto the air quality indicator will go to red and fan to high. eventually the unit goes to sleep and and stays there for literally days. it will never comes back on, seems to be it’s stuck in sleep mode it seems.

Let me know how you like the Alexa. I’m an IAQ specialist and it looks like that Alexa is built well . Just wish it had an ultraviolet light built-in.

It's the best air purifier I've used but it still can't remove odors completely from the air but for air circulation and removing dust and pollen it's pretty good. I've been using two since 2020 with no issues. However due to the filters being fairly expensive I only change them once a year but I vaccum caked on dust off them every few weeks to hopefully help them last longer. I do remember seeing a really heavy duty air purifier online years ago that did have a uv sanitizer but it was around $600 and was huge and I saw no way it would work in my situation. It might have been called an Envrio-cleanse or something like that.

Can you have Alexapure on its front? Like laying down wither way?

    • @Mr.Everything
      @Mr.Everything  Před 2 lety

You probably could because it doesn't block any of the inlets or outlets but I wonder if it would cause premature wear to the fan for operating in a different orientation.

Is this product worth it? I live in California and we sometimes have wildfire smoke

It helps but it's not going to make a miraculous difference. They're definitely better designed and performing than most cheap store units and less expansive than ones that are considered high end but are very similar to this.

Hahah thumbs-up for the hilarious comments about the downstairs neighbors, especially the political affiliation.
As for cutting down the LED brightness I think I would have tried beige gaffer's tape. It's like masking tape only way thicker. One could also just use whatever tape which blacks it out but use an exacto knife to cut a very small slit.

It's a shame but the offset is the rent in my area could probably get you 4 apartments for the price of one NYC studio closet apartment. I first tried blue painters tape as I quit using regular masking tape because it usually leaves behind residue and doesn't peel back as nicely as painters tape. That tape didn't really do anything to stop the light and electrical tape blocked it completely. One nice thing is I put my tape on the inside of the removable door so you can just put a couple of pieces over the light and don't need to cut it down to size since the door covers all of it except for where the lens is.

I've noticed they're still worried enough to wear masks 24/7 but not enough to ever hear any running water or improve personal hygiene.

You can have fun with it to try placing it across the room from you and farting and watch the unit detect it and start clearing the air. It’s the things that you do while waiting for the Planned Dimick to be done/over.
