Your box is immaculate and I love how you are regimented to wipe the tools down. Thanks for sharing your box with us. Im just watching this first time 3-12-2021, looking for your video update to see if you have more more tools in your box. I have 5 snap on boxes that I got over a yr from various mechanics who were selling for deals, so I plan on n organizing my tools a bit more spread out. i have a DYI shop at home and just painted my garage floors. I love all your videos and tools finds.

Wow, I'm not a mechanic but I can do most things to get by, but I go on the Snap on truck when he comes to our shop each week and drool over the tools , wow things have come a long way in the last 36 years when I first bought from the truck at previous employer especially the Ratchets, pliers and specialty tools, good quality tools though expensive I prefer them over any other manufacturer.

  • @themountofoliveschannelwit7009

I'm a Ex-Electrician & Cable Technician for 26years and then a massive heart attack forced me into a career change (into a sit down job). In all my years in Electrical work, I never once own a nice tool box. Mainly because Electrical work requires you and your tools to be mobile. . . . . Just a few months ago I bought a new 52inch Husky tool box from Home Depot to put all of my old tools in at home. ........as I watched you video, I was blown away at how similar our tool boxes were set up. (granted I don't have neary the number of wrenches and rachets and sockets that you do) ...I love Snap-On tools, but don't really have that many of them because the Snap-On trucks typically don't visit construction sites and it can be hard to flag one of them down to buy tools unless you are a mechanic at a shop where his regular tool route takes him. And when I did run down a Snap-On truck, it never failed that his truck would be pooly stocked and he had nothing that I either wanted or needed (had the same experience with our local Mac Tools Dealers too ...and for what it is worth, I have never seen a MATCO or Cornwell Truck in my life. . So with that said most my tools are made by either Klein Tools, Ideal or SK. (with some Snap-On, some Craftsman and some other odd brands sprinkled in). ......I really enjoy your videos ...One recommendation, you should try usung Klein wire strippers and Fluke multimeters (just a suggestion)

When you go on sites like eBay and look at used tools you’ll find numerous American Companies that used to make ratchets, sockets and other hand tools. Most are out of business now. I try to buy American tools when I can not only because the quality is good but I want to support American companies as much as I can.
Having said that, I’m like everyone else in that sometimes you have to make do with what you can. I picked up an old ratchet made by Snapon back in the late 30s. To me it’s a piece of history that several generations used to make their living with. I also have all of my dad’s old tools that he used from the time that he left the Navy after WW2 all the way until he passed away in 2014. He had alot of Snapon’s old black oxide industrial finished tools.
    Keep on keeping on!

It's funny, us older gentleman mechanics have way more sae then metric, there wasn't much esp in heavy trucks that was metric, with the exception of autocar, and of course Volvo, so metric for me is scarce now also. Slowly getting more.
Nice tool box tour, great organization as well. I still use the same old snap on box set up from 1989, when I worked at a gmcautocar dealership.
    Nice vid, subbed

Mark Kobza yeah I’m having to buy metric all the time now. Especially larger size metric wrenches. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment and also subscribing. I appreciate it.

Great tour, worthy of an admission price! Hey Clay? I'll give you a nickel to ask Joe if you can buy a set of those Cornwell adjustable wrenches in the metric size.

I used to work as a Diesel mechanic's helper & tire repairman in Fredericksburg, Va. I have a few Snap on tools & some MAC tools but mostly Craftsman due to the cost of quality tools. Especially when you happen to lose some or they happen to walk off! You have a nice & spotless looking shop.Where is your location at?

I cringe when I let someone barrow some of my flank drive combos or snap on ratchets and they put them on the shop floor and take the finish off them

Buy a cheap set from Harbour freight and let people barrow those i dont let anyome barrow my stuff lol when they ask if they can barrow something i give them those sets i have a ratchet set and a drill from Harbour freight i let them use its not being mean or anything like that i just payed top dollar for my tools that i like to take care of them i learned to do this when i let a friend of mine use my torque wrench that he kept tossing to the ground where he had 2 rags every single time he did that i cried and died inside so yeah i decided to just say no to my percision tools and gor ratchets wrenches and drill i let them use my cheap sets that i purchased for that specific reason

I am not a mechanic, but just love watching tool box tours. So i was wondering why some tool boxes are so heavy on ratchets and sockets with others mainly wrenches. Is it a prefence thing or is there practical reasons behind it?

I gotta ask man, and I am NOT hating at all.. How the heck do all your tools look brand new? And how do you find the time to keep ur boxes so super organized and clean??? I get it, I’m sure you spiffed em up for the vid but still..
I’m a lil OCD too and have had a rule I’ve followed for the entire 25 yrs I’ve been a mechanic/machinist. At the end of the day or job every tool gets wiped down and put in their place in my box. Even if I know I’m coming in the morn to pick up where I left off on a job. I do not leave my tools out overnight.. if you have a secret on how to bang out jobs and still have time to spit shine ur stuff I’d love to know. Maybe I’m a trainwreck? LOL. Thanks nice job
