This game goes straight to one of most interesting funniest ones ever in the channel. Great game and great decks. Loved that you just agreed on some things happen, like a normal EDH table would do
Great decks if you like losing
Watching that stack battle for Phantasmal Image targeting Dockside put some hair on my chest
At 14:05, the esper sentinel tax was 3 because of +2 from Elesh Norn
Hi everyone. I'm the pilot of dragonlord dromoka. I will be sending the decklist soon (I keep saying that lol) to the PWP team to have that edited in..I'll edit the comment to contain it hopefully.
Between this game and now there's alot of improvement to own decks, gameplans, and ideas. I still firmly believe there is room for GW in cEDH.
Personally. Yasharn is my go to pick for the GW commander right now. It's abilities are superb and ramp on entry is a joy. Dromoka is a huge beat stick that just amused me for a few months.
Anywho any feedback, questions, or shit talk the "dromoka! In cEDH! Blasphemy!" Bring it :^)
But I digress. Anything has the room to be explored for cEDH mindset personally. You won't know until you try things y'all. Have a great day and enjoy the video
What is your reasoning for choosing Dromoka? No disagreement that it's a strong card, but it seems too slow/not impactful enough compared to what was given for the description of your deck and how it seeks to win the game. I really enjoyed the diversity this brought to the table, though.
@@treybrasseale8901 great question. It's probably the most upfront question. Why dromoka?
I could of easily gone towards yasharn or other options or partner pair. Dromoka just is interesting to me for grand abolisher x2 effect and an absolute beefy problem others need to answer.
Since this game I actually am more aligned with playing mono white actually. GW is one I'll revisit with time. But dromoka mocha shake deck is about speed bumps and delaying your opponents while beating everyone over the head or using a few high synergistic pieces together to end games.
I play a Marath Birthing Pod combo deck, and i only run 4 red cards in the entire 99. I feel your love for Selesnya too :) I love your deck
G/W is very good when playing stax. Itâs just finding a decent wincon thatâs hard....besides you know just beating face.
I love this idea. I want to build Yasharn Big Pig, but itâs a beat down deck and Iâm inclined to include dromoka. I saw you play a bunch of ramp, thatâs probably not in your yasharn list, so Iâm curious if you would still include some of the top-end beaters you played this game in the pig deck. Iâll probably end up building Tymna-Kamahl stax beats and just include all the GW beaters lol. GG!
It's nice to see Mike has a mat from the absolute travesty that was CGU, god that whole event was so scuffed it was hilarious
What happened there?
@@alexfisher4442 Look up #secretgp on Twitter.
@@alexfisher4442 it was pretty much a flop. They pretty much met less than half of their expected turn out for events.
The playmat looks like a kid made it. The cedh event didn't fire as they only got like 9 people. A bunch of events didn't fire off and they had to issue refunds.
They also tried to charge a lot for the events.
Yup my buddy picked up dozens of those playmats and has been selling them on Facebook for $40-$50 a piece lmao
@@MrSuperiorTech I did the same thing, had to recoup losses somehow LOL
Idk for sure but I donât think people were paying 3 for sentinel with elesh out
Ahh damn you right
GREAT GAME! Love the last minute angel's grace attempt!
11:33 James attacks with Alela and 2 Fairies, each Fairy is a 2/1 so should have gone from 20 to 14.
The constant rhystic and mystic triggers sounded like a dr suess book.
I loved the Alela gameplay! Been looking to edit mine and James deck is simply wonderful.
â€ïž
That was beautiful! What a fun watch :)
Yooooo this was so fun to watch. Love it
I have myself a Rule of Law Alela deck, and it is a pleasure to pilot it against combo decks ^^
Actually I won several times with Time Sieve XD
Great video! Loved the game thanks for posting these for us to enjoy.
The amount of times you said Sentinel,Rhystic, and Mystic almost sounds like a Dr Seus book
Well done on editing all those triggers
Its like ey 20 min video dont see that often and then the t1 archon explains it all
Great game, love the Dromoka deck!
yeah arcane lab was insane this game. the practical card advantage it generated made all the extra card draw almost meaningless
Glad to see james also plays warhammer 40k.
Mystic and Rystic and Esper. Man those went off a lot.
Awesome gameplay!
damn one of the most interesting games so far, hands down :O
that game was intense đ„đ„đ„đ„
Wow, what a great game! That stack on Phantasmal Image was insane. Keep up the great content!
Man oh man I really thought James was going to get it done there
It's nice that Mike lets his kids draw on his mats
Hard work for Ryan to narrate this episode lol
I really look forward to these uploads
Ahh... Bless this legacy quest reward
I love the arcane laboratory art!
Wow this game was awesome and insane
Great game guys! Where do you guys get some of your proxies from like the old school border Chrome Mox with Eternal Masters artwork Ross has?
Ah yes, olive garden leftovers, cherry dcpepper and cedh. The perfect lunch
Ross has a very good taste for basic lands
What a crazy game lmao!
amazing stack there mid game. great one all round
The battle for that image.
Man the height of those stacks were insane. Sure a few misplays here or there, but who could blame you guys there were like 6 triggers per spell cast at one point not to mention a board full of stax.
Really enjoyed that game though. - Any insults on Alela throw them my way. :D
Yeah the game was great to watch
Ive now seen cultivate and commander sphere in a cEDH game. . both new ones
The best game yet!
6:42 that faerie was blue, but James put on bf a black token, in this case, James could use the faerie to block BUT nothing changes, as Giver could give protection to Blue and everything would be the same.
at 11:45, did Cal search the top 4 for that Tropical or did he search his deck? Because I think that's a Mindcensor on James' field so he should be restricted.
Also, shouldn't teh hippocamp at 13:06 die to Elesh? *Edit* I'm an idiot, always finish watching the video first kiddos.
If I remember correctly it was the top four as we laughed saying that was all his luck for the game gone.
The aven was exiled under chrome mox, not actually on the board
@@jordanferreira7615 No, he cast the Aven at at 11:10
awesome
Wild stacks & stax!
dang haha that rashmi deck sure is pretty cal must be really into rashmi
With all due respect...has Cal ever won with that deck? I'm seriously curious haha
@@krlbcn Definitely not on the channel. Certainly in many other games :D
@@PlayingWithPowerMTG would love to see it!
Mike's biggest play was casting that Demonic.
Finally! Commander, what I subscribed to the channel for!
When Cal fetched with polluted delta, there was an Aven Mindcensor. He looked at the top 4?
Great game
My brain aftee the video: Rhystic Mystic Esper Draw Draw Draw
Polluted Delta hitting Tropical Island under a Mindcensor at 11:35 :p
Mike, how could you do this????
Cal's can only search the top 4 cards of his library when fetching a land when James aven is on the board. đ€Ł
Pure wholesome gameplay. I wish I could get games like this in my LGS lol
I see Alela, I click. I see Alela cedh, I đ
How the hell did Mike play that lot of cards, when the Consulation exiled most of his deck?
This wasnât a very good game, way to many rules mistakes and bad plays
underworld breach
@@smack80 I don't think he have 33 card to escape those 11 spells.
@@thetimebinder good question
Why having a proxy of cultivate Ross??
I just gotta say, heavy early stax, 2 esper sentinels, AND 2 rhystic studies by turn 4 is a crazy game
I'm pleased I had the same MVP card choice.
11:45 didn't James have a Aven Mindsensor when Cal fetched?
I'm sure everyone had fun but, that game looked miserable to play thru lol Thank you for the content lol
Cultivate, the cedh staple
fun game i miss good edh good sportsmanship
SO... MANY... CAST... TRIGGERS...
When are u guys doing another podcast episode? They make my shifts so much better
The Podcast is currently on hiatus and will be coming back in Feb!
@11:40 cal uses a fetch land when an Avon mind sensor is in play
They said he searched the top 4 in a different comment, it just didn't get narrated
11:40 Did Cal only search the top four with that polluted? Mindcensor was still on the battlefield.
Suuure did! Sometimes you just get lucky :)
11:45 aven fetch :S
Shouldnât James have lost the unspent mana from Urzaâs Saga since he tapped it for mana before his first main phase on turn 4?
It tapped in response to gaining the third counter in the main phase.
Because of how Sagas are worded (sacrificed/given a counter after your draw step), knowing that Main Phase 1 happens immediately after draw step, when he tapped the Urza's Saga, it was his Main Phase, he keeps it. For example, look at The First Eruption (a different card). The second line would be pretty pointless otherwise. I honestly think Sagas should just say at the start of your first Main Phase, but...
Putting counter on a saga is a trun-based action which happens right when you move to your first main phase. After that, third chapter trigger and sacrifice trigger are put on a stack, which you can respond to with activating mana ability. It all happens in first main phase, so you can use mana afterward.
omg what a game
I have PTSD from watching SO MANY disrespected Sentinel, Rhystic, and Fish triggers lol đ”âđ«
That was an awesome game!
It is amazing how many times through these videos that the tables groan with the stale, repetitive gameplays that CEDH has haha
What was the intention for casting the sword on the last turn? I donât see a line there at all
Was trying to find any line with what I had in exile, bit there wasn't anything due to the colours of blockers Mike had up.
@@Basskin oh so you were like hoping to untap your lands and draw with the swordâs damage trigger?
@@connorl0204 I was actually hoping I'd exiled Walking Ballista, which is why I kept checking my exile pile. Since the sword wasn't pro-red after I cast it and realised I couldn't attack I just passed to give him the win.
sick ass game
Can Karn actually with his -2 ability get a card from the exile?
Yes
Yup.
11:41 cal fetch with a mindcensor in james board - missplay
Tropical Island was top 4!
@@PlayingWithPowerMTG Lucky!!
Casting a Mana Crypt, not using it, paying 3 life. Masochistic play đ
Loved everything about this match guys. Was great seeing some other commanders that most people wouldn't think could be cEDH worthy. Also didn't know karn's ability actually worked in edh. I always thought of it as a sort of wish effect and those don't work in edh. Learned something new.
Pretty sure he got that one from exile tbh
@@lukecollier2618 he did, I just didn't know karn could work like that for commander. Like I said, I always thought he worked more like a wish card and wasn't much use in commander.
Yeah only good for cards in exile in edh, unless otherwise agreed by your play group
Hey had toxic deluge so he could have wiped the board first anyway right
Exactly!
Wow! fantastic game!
To be fair Mike wins because he cast an illegal demonic consultation, had the outcome been not allowing it to resolve the game would have definitely been someone elses game just saying. Though most cons are exiled you cannot allow a play as such especially when getting a card like breach that essentially wins the game. I have had this situation in my play groups and we literally all agree the spell cannot be played and would remain in exile off Jeskaâs Will, but to each their own
Well, technically he could've cast Toxic Deluge first, killing Magistrate, and then go for consult, so it is not like he had no way to cast it at all.
since it was an illegal play they would have to reset it, they cant just say it doesnt resolve and put it to the graveyard
@@Zaalbarjedi true but folks making misplays is part of the game. Part of the "competitive" aspect is not doing take backs because you missed something.
@@apohto4166 yes, but if you want to fix it, you need to revert whole consult cast, which is much worse, taking into account amount of information that he got from casting it.
TREACHERY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 13:20
Mike could have just Toxic Deluge before casting the Demonic Consultation. But, did Mike have 33 cards in his graveyard to escape those 11 spells from grave?
One week for every game I had to Mulligan down to 4. Granted I don't play competitive but I can just feel the pain of the 2 who had to mole down to 5.
Would you guys consider doing a game where the players talk as they play instead of Ryan doing commentary after filming?
Tune in to their twitch streams!
When will the podcast return?
February!
Rule of law effects are so good at slowing down games
This Game is a perfect example for Rhystic being finally banned.
Honestly kinda surprised at the amount of commenters who seem to think you should never allow an illegal move for any reason but at the same time seems to think that if someone attempts to make one you should break the game in response to try and make far more illegal moves to âpunishâ them. As people stated, the âproperâ response is to just backtrack to before the move which results in the exact same outcome except deluge is cast first rather than second, which ofc is effectively what was shortcut to here, but people seem to think it should have been allowed to illegally cast, but then for some reason just fizzle randomly in order to punish? I get that everyone wants the dromoka deck to get an upset victory but the rationale from many of those angry about allowing that move is confusing at best and immensely hypocritical either way
Very spicy game, loved the players navigating the stax.
It's pretty disappointing that the winning play was a misplay that everyone agreed to let slide...thinking that all the win-cons were gone 15:00
Hmm, that James has some very odd cards in his deck. I donât know if itâs cEDH actually
Also that iKraum deck is like the hottest shit if you ask me
@@guusvanoosterwijk2693 well of course you'd think that
Decks not even on the database. Must be trash.
@@Basskin yeah itâs hot garbage. Canât believe pwp would let âcasualâ decks on the channel smh man this ainât shit.
yeah really odd, I don't know why he'd bring his casual brew to a cEDH table :thunk:
That game was INSANE!!!!
Mike's misplay leads to a win after not compromising with Cal? Wow smh.
While the game was interested there were multiple rules mistakes, the esper sentinels should trigger once per turn but when the yawgmoth will was first time they drew way too many cards, that and also the illegal resolution with the drannith in the bf
Esper sentinel triggers once per opponent, so up to 3 times a turn. I *think* they played it correctly
Super Wack That Mikes win, at that point you should just scoop instead of taking the W.
Anyway we can give you some tea and honey for that raspy voice? I mean if I had talk for almsot 20 straight and all that interaction? Yeah i would want some too
You can't cast spells from exile with a Drannith Magistrate on the field.
