It's awesome, I love how this turned out. I enjoyed working on this video with you and others Simon ❤ I hope you guys enjoy watching this video
I also really enjoyed working with you all ❤To think this all started because I just found some random guy complete Prison in 2021 is just crazy.
Extremely proud of how this turned out. Hope y'all enjoy. In fact, in our discord server, Marc Steene himself did a stream of himself watching this video and providing his insight into it.
So am I! And yeah, the stream was super fun, so glad we got Marc here in the first place!
One thing I was suprised to see not mentioned is slendermans weird movement in sanatorium. When he teleports, he slides across to where he wants to go, idk how common this was, but I remember seeing a video of someone looking down a hallway, and slender just slid into the doorway lol
I actually don't know (or just forgot) why we excluded this from the video and the one following it.
My guess is one of the following:
- We forgot about it completely while we were focusing on the obscure stuff
- We didn't know enough about why it happened at the time, which would lead to another short section (like the donator boards and the Steam port)
- We didn't find it important to bring up
@@itsNatalieAtLeast that's fair, I just thought it was funny seeing slender slide all over the place
it's really one of my favorite horror games from my childhood, the games are amazing, the youtubers who made videos on them are so cool to watch even 10 years later it still makes me happy to know that the slender man shadow community is not really dead and there are still people out there still playing and still looking for theories, and frankly, I congratulate you.
I completely agree, I would say SMS was definitely the peak of Slender games. I should really go back and watch the old SMS videos, I'm glad people are still playing these games, it's one of the only reasons why I kept doing Prison attempts. And thank you!!
I may be late to the party but still, I loved this video! The slenderman's shadow games were always my favourite slender games and I've always enjoyed them a whole lot more than the other fangames or even The eight pages since I was a kid, so seeing people still talking about the original FPSC games brings me a ton of joy and kinda makes me wish that slender was still relevant today, Anyways, Awesome video and keep up the good work!
@@Javier-dj1zy I'm glad you enjoyed :D and yeah I'm basically in the same boat as you, this is easily ny favorite Slender game
The gun ending in Sanatorium, Slender Man is basically saying “You may win the battle, but I win the war!”
That is a perfect analysis!
@@itsNatalieAtLeast by the way, there’s something that wasn’t mentioned: the flashlight breaking in Slender Elementary
That's because it was one of the most obvious ones so we didn't really deem it necessary
@@itsNatalieAtLeast I think it’s because the kids at the elementary were playing around with the flashlight too much, I maybe wrong though
It's just for a quick scare tbh, I doubt a 17 year old who thinks turning into Slender after shooting him is a good storyline would put that much thought into a flashlight breaking.
How much care and passion i saw watching this video, you guys are amazing. I still remember how it was yesterday when i first played Sanatorium and i was fascinated and traumatized at the same time, (10 years ... I can't believe it) i also remember that i was in hype and i couldn't wait for Marc Steene and Wray Burgess to release more new maps. Thanks guys for this great video and thanks to Marc for creating this masterpiece. Happy 10th anniversary ❤️.
While I was only 7 at the time of the maps coming out, I still remember being terrified when I played them on stream 5 years ago, which is why I came back to Slenderman's Shadow in the first place, as I had kinda forgotten it until a stream I did in 2020. And yes, I agree, thank you so much Marc! You definitely left your marc on the Slender community.
Awesome video 🔥🔥🔥 very informative and well done
Thank you so much! It was super fun to work on 😁
Excellent work! Nice to see everything around these games being properly documented.
Thank you so much! I had an absolute blast working on this and it was an honour to work with Marc
Amazing video. I have great memories from my childhood of this game.
Thank you so much!
Yeah, I have a lot of memories with this game as well, it's why I'm so happy to see I'm not the only one playing it to this day and that we even got Marc Steene himself on board
Great video, you really did some great work in the research!
Thank you, I appreciate it!
I actually used to run the Slendermans Shadow facebook fan page when I was 13. the Devs messaged us and demanded we clarify that it is the fan page and not the official page lmao. Still has 18,000 likes
Dang nice!
And yeah generally always a good idea to say it's a fan page
Thank you for this video
You're welcome! I loved working on it :D
W video was fun watching it with the server
Thank you! :D
And yeah I agree, it was super fun!
Amazing video. Well done Simon! W
Thank you! And W to you too!
Absolutely wonderful
Thank you!!
Truly an enjoyable video!
Thank you!
Amazing editing 10/10, I'm very proud of myself for beating 7th Street lol.
Thank you so much! And congrats!
Now i need to beat sanatorium which is going to be hard lol.
Really really good job
Thank you so much! It was a blast to work on
Extremely common W video from the ItsPeaceSimon CZcams channel
Extremely common Slenderman's Shadow server admin W
For me, Mansión It is the most difficult game in the entire saga, Due to the size of the map, the irregular hallways and about 3 floors of the building and most importantly, 12 objects to collect
Interesting, Mansion is usually viewed as one of the easier ones, but if you're just starting out and don't know the route an memento locations it can still be a tough one.
If you've played Prison, what did you think of its difficulty?
@@itsNatalieAtLeast I have never won Prison, but I don't know, when the map came out I did know about the difficulty change and that many said it was a bug that they never patched, that's why I wouldn't consider it the most difficult , because for me I consider it bugged all these years, but watching the video and knowing that they did do it on purpose, I think I could consider it the most difficult . Even so, Mansion still gives me headaches because I always got stuck in the rooms and it was a stress for me to go up and down the floors xD
@@zarkitek I never heard about it being bugged, other than being able to clip out the map. And yeah, I don't blame you, it took me a very long time to finally get a consistent route for Mansion myself
@@itsNatalieAtLeast My colleagues and people on the forums said that it was possibly a bug because it was so difficult and that it took a long time before someone uploaded a winning video.
@@itsNatalieAtLeast pd:For me, the easiest is streets, it's because it was the first one I played and I played it too much until I learned a route and ran constantly xD
Not to Forget: Lunatic1988, the first Horror Letsplayer from whole Germany, helped a lot made it Popular in Germany. Back then i was such a slender obsessed teen, i was faking slender photos with paint and told everbody on school that i saw him and all that, and even made a CZcams-Letsplay filmed with a Camcorder in front of my Monitor. There was a Bug in Prison i discovered back then, you can clip out of the prison, and walk around in a Heaven full of clouds. Did you know that this was a thing? (EDit: Yes you do lol, but it didnt crash by us) I also remember making Fanfictions but they didnt survived the Time. I also remember, that i made it to Page 5 on the First run, but never further than Six, because i was so afraid and scared and wasnt aware of the Mechanics, and just Run all the Time.
Oh god not fanfictions lol - yeah I never beat any of the Slender games as a kid either, closest I got was an 8/8 death in Elementary
Dude, this is an amazing video, it was awesome to watch and see people still talking about Slender in 2022-2023 now! One thing I am very surprised you and Micro did not mention is that in Elementary, Mansion, Claustrophobia, and 7th Street, is that if you listen closely you can hear your characters heartbeat, this can be used as help because if slenderman is close to you after collecting 1 item and slenderman is close, your heartbeat accelerates extremely fast, indicating slenderman is very close to you. And also, how did you start in the box outside of Elementary at the very beginning of the game? ❤
Thank you so much
@itsNatalieAtLeast Nice! what's interesting too, is that in Mansion, if you manage to get out of the map, you can also notice a box outside of the map aswell, this was confirmed by Marc to simply be a placeholder for the Glowsticks, but what is interesting is that if you go into the box, rather than getting stuck, you get the Sanatorium screen of GAME COMPLETE. So if that box in Elementary works the same as in Mansion where the game just randomly completes itself, that's another mystery lmao.
@@Nasus3796 I've been outside the map but somehow never noticed the box, but that's pretty interesting
UPDATE: Just checked the games you mentioned, and the folder with the audio doesn't have any heartbeat sound effect, only Elementary does. I took out the page sounds and there wasn't any heartbeat when getting closer to Slender either. I think you're most likely just confusing it with the constant heartbeat in Elementary
@@itsNatalieAtLeast A good way to test it in elementary is that if you collect one of the bears in the courtyard outside, and go near the Keep Out sign you can notice a couple trees near it, if you walk into the the trees Slender is unable to get you there, you can test it there and just wait for him to teleport close enough to hear it, if the other maps do not have a heart beat, that could have been me with my own game files testing it on other maps with the files from Elementary, so that was probably a mistake on my part lmao, try and keep the page sounds in it too, cause I have messed around with audio files like that before and it kind of bugs out the game
I liked the info dump, but try not to sound like your reading a school essay.
(unless it was,... then, goodjob!)
I wish this had been a school essay, that would've been amazing.
We felt that it would make more sense to write in a in a more.. I guess.. formal manner as this was such an informational video. Besides, this is how I always do my voiceovers. At a reasonable pace so everyone can keep up.
If I spoke at the same pace as when I'm just commentating during a let's play, way less people would be able to keep up. But I totally see your point, still
10% more motivated to complete my Battlefront 1 2004 Iceberg video.
Glad this motivated you!
FOR THE LOVE OF GOD MAKE A SLENDER SPACE ICEBERG
Doesn't sound like a half bad idea, gonna have to write that one down
YESSSSS
SLENDER SPACE HAS BEEN SUCH AN UNDERRATED GAME LITERALLY NO ONE SEEMS TO REMEMBER, AND I WANT TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENED TO IT!
thank you, imma sub
@@kinomiyadomi6528 Please do keep in mind I'm only considering it at this stage, but given I'm still interested in Slender there's a high chance it'll happen!
I did a 12-game Slender marathon for The Eight Pages' 11 year anniversary and I played Slender Space there, so be on the lookout for that video within the next month!
Oh hell yea!
I got excited since you're one of the few people that even aknoledged the game, but hell yea, imma keep my heads up for the next video!
Btw, did you see the slender the arrival remake teaser?
I did! I'm super hyped, can't wait to play it
Dudeeeee your channel is freaking awesome!!!
I was the creator of one of the many Slender fan-made games back in the days... this brings back soooo many memories and I really have to say I do admire your work and the effort u guys together put in making this top-tier analysis of SMS.
Kudos to u, u got a new subscriber today! (つ▀¯▀)つ
Thank you so much!
I want to play all classic SS maps. But when I install them (every single one of them), my character can't move. I am stuck on one place and I just can't move. I have the walking animation but I dont seem to move at all... Can somebody help, I would really appreciate it!
I never figured out what the fix for this was as I never had it happen myself, sorry

This is a collection of every version of SMS (FPSC and Unity) we have been able to find. This is the one most people including myself use, and I haven't had any issues with it.
@@mccecix4247
The standalone games were better than the ones in Slendernan Shadow, it was less scary but this was cool video!
Yeah, I much prefer the standalone maps as well.
Also, the standalone maps are still considered part of Slenderman's Shadow, just the FPSC versions
Oh yeah, and thank you! 😄
Oh! didn't know that. Thankss! I remember playing these maps, it was cool and scary jajaja@@itsNatalieAtLeast
I'm surprised that the weird sliding thing he does in Sanatorium isn't listed on here, not only the fact that he does it to teleport but also the weird occasion that you'll see him just, glide across the room in an aimless, nonsensical direction. best example i can think of this is in DJ Morfar's playthrough of it
czcams.com/video/9cjYOc5h-8c/video.html at 4:30
and then also this guys video at 2:37
czcams.com/video/8tgobJfSOCo/video.html
Apparently this same thing can happen in Hospice, I distinctly remember there being a playthrough on youtube where it happened, they were walking down the troll face corridor when Slenderman just slid right past them and disappeared into the graffiti'd wall, can't find it anymore though.
I'm actually working on a follow-up video that comes out on the 11 year anniversary (Aug 12 '23) where this will be featured!
Uhh so update, it's not gonna be released on the 11th anniversary anyway. But that does mean we don't have an actual release date at the moment
I like this video
I'm glad you did! :D
1:50 Count 13. Even if I didn't recorded it, I managed to beat Prison. Tbh, 7th Street felt more dificult than Prison. It was 2 years ago.
"as of recording this, 12 people have documented"
Documented = recorded
Goo job though :)
@@itsNatalieAtLeast Yeaah sorry, my bad. I didn't readed it properly.
Also, I might kinda have the 1.0 version of Sanatorium, but it's on my old laptop, which is broken and kinda dead. If I manage to turn it on long enough, I could take a look for it.
@@DaniKH1 👀
@@itsNatalieAtLeast If I recall correctly, a friend shared it to me, but it was like years ago. I remember that compared to the SMS version, it looked really crispy. If I'm not able to find it through my files, maybe it might be somewhere on the wayback Machine website on the archive, idk.
I'll comment back later if I find something interesting.
Good video, btw. I really liked it!
@@DaniKH1 we have already checked the Wayback Machine and seemingly found nothing, so here's to hoping you have it

So technically, I am in the video
i´ve watched this video like 50 times now (this is not a joke)
Nice! Now go for 100 :P
Why did you have to pass the prison in less than 130 seconds?
People thought 7th Street was too easy, so Marc ultimately gave the fans what they wanted
@@itsNatalieAtLeast lol
bueno.
¡Gracias!
Okay, first of all some of Marc’s answers sounded as if he wasn’t the one that created the Game 😂😂 second of all after all these Years it really does bother me that sanatorium ( the first Game in the series after the original ) doesn’t have a story about the character and why is he there Collecting pages
1. Do keep in mind that he was 17/18 at the time, plus he works at Microsoft now, so he's probably prioritising that over remembering small details about a spin-off series he made 11 years ago.
2. Yeah I can see what you mean, but I think it's for the better. I mean, take the gun ending into account. Even Marc was cringing at it during his reaction to this video last year
@@itsNatalieAtLeast yeah I know, I’m aware 😅😅 nevertheless he Did a great job and Made 2012 great ! 😄
