    Because of Yvan I typically will do a rinseless wash. I love the efficiency and finish with ceramic gloss.
    I do love the effects of quick beads after a traditional bucket wash. The water reaction is awesome to watch, almost like the water doesn’t know where to go.
    A great product to look into would be a glass coating.

    I use both CG and QB’s. I just washed my wife’s SUV after a trip to Lake Tahoe for a ski trip. The road grime and sand residue just fell off without a contact wash, of course, I followed up with a very easy contact wash.
    Having the car already protected made it an easy wash. I used DIY Rinseless Wash to release the dirt and then rinsed with water, I then sprayed Rinseless Wash again on the car before my contact wash with Rinseless Wash.
    This time I used QB’s in the water stream and was amazed how easy it was able to apply this way and being a full-size SUV it only took about 2 minutes max to apply.
    I then followed up with CG on a small towel and dry. Very quick process and fully protected! Super slick when finished!
    Love both products, thanks Ivan and Nick for providing us with great products that work and are fun to use!!

    As context, I believe I have bought just about every one of your products and finally did a ceramic coat on my wife’s 2017 Macan.
    I use your products on her car. However, I use the new turtle wax products on my Hydro blue Jeep.
    It really adds the right amount of darkening to the paint as opposed to both of your products that makes the paint super glossy. Nothing wrong with that, but was wondering if you might be creating a product that darkened the paint while adding some gloss rather than just high gloss.

    Great video! Have a question that may be out of your wheelhouse. Have you ever used your products on aluminum painted hull boats. I trailer mine and fish on the Great Lakes which is hard sometimes dirty water especially at the launch. Water spots are always an issue especially at the stern and the outboard motor. Rarely am I able to wash the boat at the end of the trip usually night time and the boat is already dry when I get home. Would ceramic coatings help or work vs a boat wax in that application?

    Yvan & Nick if using Ceramic Gloss as a drying aid what kind of longevity can you see from your drying towel? Even with proper washing at some point ceramic gloss should prevent the towel from drying. Or does it wash out completely? Love these videos!

    • @diydetailofficial
      @diydetailofficial  Před 9 měsíci +3

      If you’re concerned with that. As soon as you’re finished drying the car, soak the towel in your wash bucket. The surfactants will prevent the drying aid from crosslinking.

      Ceramic Gloss is my go to during Rinseless Wash. As the name states....once you've washed the paint with Rinseless, no need to rinse off. So after washing, on a wet panel, use a spray or two of Ceramic Gloss on the paint and on your towel and go ahead and dry

      I'm wondering the same thing. I want the benefits of graphene, but I want the most gloss. Is the 5 year noticeably glossier than the 3 year? I don't care much about longevity. I also wonder how the gloss of the 3 year + Ceramic Gloss compares against the 5 year alone, but like you I don't want to kill the effectiveness of the graphene. My car is white, if that makes a difference.

      @@nokibuyo Since this post, I’ve applied the 5 year coating. The gloss is real. I’ve also come to the realization that I overthink things. If you apply the 5 year, regardless if you top with Ceramic Gloss or Quick Beads, you’ll have a gloss monster that sheds water like crazy. As long as you’re not parked under sprinklers, water spots won’t be an issue.

      @@nokibuyo 5 year and Ceramic Glass as a drying aid. Be careful not to over apply… made that mistake. One or 2 (max) sprays per panel. I’ll try Quick Beads at some point. Picked up a gallon of both the rinseless and IS, so I’ll be doing both wash methods in the future. Rinseless is… awesome. It cleans everything and for some reason, it makes the truck look different to my eyes. It’s killer. We sometimes have drought restrictions where I live, so rinseless is perfect. I have applied your 5 yr ceramic coating, very easy application btw, and I have your quick beads. I bought quick beads to help with water spots since it has graphene. Yvan, just about to grab some Quick Beads - hoping it’ll help with my insane brake dust a bit. I was thinking, does slickness in general mean anything beyond towel marring? I see that many QDs and traditional polymer sealants are slick, while ceramic coatings often are not. I’ve noticed the slick surfaces seem to be more oleophobic and better for resisting dust etc. Is this one pro of the graphene? Was the industry wrong in chasing insane water beading at all costs and not looking at oil contact angles? Hydrophobicity is nice but a lot of contaminants are oily so I’m surprised no one is talking about it. An iPhone screen is slick and very oleophobic out of the box.

    Speaking of out of the box, you mentioned that Quick Beads is water activated. Is it possible to spray QB into a damp towel and apply it that way?

    • @cebasmb8250
      @cebasmb8250 Před rokem

      Yes you can but you still need to rinse it out if that's helpful

    • @johnfreeman440
      @johnfreeman440 Před rokem +1

      I've seen others use water-activated ceramic sealers on a wet car and spraying the product into a clean, wet microfiber towel or wash pad and spread around the panel manually and rinse after.
      Seems like that would maximize product efficiency and get a much more even application and enhance.longevity.

    • @diydetailofficial
      @diydetailofficial  Před rokem +1

      Yes no need to have the towel damp actually. You can use it the same way you use Ceramic Gloss as a drying aid if you wish!

    • @diydetailofficial
      @diydetailofficial  Před rokem +1

      And no need to rinse. It’s why we recommend quick beads as a clay lube for light jobs. You use it with clay towel and then wipe the panel until it’s dry, no rinsing required

    I am a foam gun guy so I prefer Quick Beads since the contact angle of the the beads is greater and blow dry my cars that are coated 90% of the time. . I will do the Nick method Quick Beads and finish with Ceramic gloss since the gloss is definitely ci greater.

    I stacked quick beads and ceramic gloss yesterday and the finish is amazing. It actually looks better than when I applied my Kamakaze coating about a year ago. I did over apply quick beads though. The next day I noticed streaks coming from the whole of ever panel going down. Sprayed a little quick beads on a towel and they easily wiped off.
