  • Here's Why You Should Buy A Used BMW X5M.....With A Warranty #bmwx5m
This is my universal power adapter; I carry this with me almost everywhere I travel. You can use it in almost every country, it’s very small. I can charge my phone directly to it, and it is very easy to use. But there are two problems; first it’s very expensive and if you brake it, well it’s costly to replace. Second, you can’t charge a laptop so I have to have a second adapter only for my laptop or other equipment’s. But it will charge anything that can be charged with a USB, which makes it very convenient to have…
Which brings me to this. This is a 2012 BMW X5M and similar to my adapter is a car you can use for almost everything. With manufactures moving towards building bigger cars, like mid and large size SUV, they are also making them faster, lighter and somehow better fuel economy - but they aren’t cheap to buy straight from the manufacturer. This is why we have this, a used X5 M for almost the price of a 2019 Toyota Camry.
The original price for this X5M back in 2012 was close 110,000 dollars, today you can buy this just under 35k plus some warranty you would probably need.
    Engine
So what do we have in here, well this X5M it is packed with some serious power for an SUV, it has a Twin Turbo V8 producing 555 BHP and 500 lb ft of tq and it does 0-60 in 4.1 seconds, which it is fast for a machine that weighs 5300 lbs.

You need to do better research. Stock brakes are NOT single piston up front. And that is not a straight pipe exhaust. And buddy - you have a button you press to close the rear liftgate. It sitting right there inches from your face, and it lights up .... My God.

Strange, my 2010 X5M has 4 piston front calipers from the factory and had plenty of stopping power at the track. Ya, they're still standard non-drilled, non-slotted, non-ceramic rotors, but I never had much issues with brake fade even after 30-40 min track sessions. The front rotors and pads are gigantic.
As far as the transmission goes, it's not quite as fast as the newer ZF 8 speeds, or the older twin clutches, but I much prefer a standard automatic for daily driving. Chicago stop and go traffic is NOT good for a twin clutch since the only way for it to "creep" in slow traffic is for the computer to slip the clutch. Considering most owners will track this car once (I've only done so twice in the 5 years I've owned it), I'd much rather have the auto for daily driving than the few tenths of a seconds I'd be able to shed on track times, the one or two times it ever sees a track with a twin clutch.
The only real issue I've had with mine is excessive tire noise, and a harsher ride than the standard X5, even with the stock tires. First off, they're run flats so they're going to ride harsher, but secondly, they're also ENORMOUS, 275 front, 315-325 rear, so they do create a lot of tire noise as they wear. Going from a worn set to a brand new set is an insane different in noise levels, but they get pretty bad as they age. But, I just turn up my radio, and that problem takes care of itself :)
That exhaust sounds awesome though. They definitely don't sound that good from the factory.

Owned one for 2 years. Those brakes are factory, 16" 6 pistons up front. That exhaust is not a straight pipe, these straight piped will make your ears bleed. Thing was fast as snot, but I now own a nearly mint first gen E53 X5 4.8iS (Debatably the predecessor to the X5M) and enjoy it far more than the E70. I however, am a BMW purist and am not terribly fond of the 09ish+ models anyway. Early 2000s was BMWs best era for quality craftsmanship and purist cars, with the late 80's/early 90s era a VERY close second.

Warranty absolutely! My 2012 x5M with 49,000 miles just died. Broken engine connecting rods. Dealer wants $38,000 to replace the s63 engine

Shitty man....sad when it's cheaper to go buy another used one rather than replace the engine new from bmw. But I'm sure it can be rebuilt for alot cheaper than that. Quite sure actually. Just dont ask how I know lol

Pretty lame. And this is a review of an 8 year old car. What’s the point? It’s already been reviewed a million times. Very amateur, and boring. Change review topics, try restaurants.
