    The ratchets look good and are nicely priced, too. I have Capri's hex sockets. No complaints. Even like the packaging - doesn't take up a lot of space in the box and every socket can be seen with a glance.
    Filling a cart with tools and donating it is an excellent idea. You're right; there are kids who can't afford the stuff. Why not help them out. Last year I gathered all the detailing supplies that accumilated over time, but aren't used anymore - abrasives, sealants, towels, chemicals - and donated a big box to a community college car club.

    Just a tip, Snap-on uses Super Lube Synthetic lubricant in their ratchets. So when you reassembly the ratchets and clean them in the future you will have the same exact Syncolon® (PTFE) based lubricant that Snap-on uses in the factory. This lube is dielectric also so you won't have to keep two different products that do the same thing.

    I’ve been considering these but have some Carlyle now. Due to my foolishness my 1/4” began locking up. Took it to my local Napa and they warrantied it on the spot. Capri’s “Original purchaser” warranty is understandable IMO but implies we need to keep receipts. The Carlyles have been the smallest heads I have found and when comparing the two look to be similar in price. Great to have all these Taiwan tools to choose from! Thanks for the great review and generosity.

    I have the Capri 1/4 and 3/8 inch regular (non-flex head) ratchets. I like them. I also have a Capri 19mm combination wrench that I used during a ball joint job and it did very well. I was beating on it with a dead blow hammer and it didn't flex or slip. I am a fan of Capri tools so far. Oh, I also have their 1/4 wobble-plus extension set and it's good too.

    Capri do some good stuff, they really seem make effort picking best taiwan can offer and implement good design elements .
    These ratchets really nice quality, they chose 72T for a reason, it best balance of strength and gives minimal chance of hassle on the single pawl setup .anything over 72T is getting into marketing number benefit rather than tool use benefit .
    If you look at the swivel you also see besides all tolerance nicely done they have a recessed bore for a short tensioning spring which keeps joint under friction .
    Seen these years ago mainly on swivel socket wrenches and it a good design concept .
    For the money they real nice ratchets, way better than ICON swivel head ratchets
    Capri bit sockets are another gem, I got 3 sets of those they that good .

    The only tool I'm going to have to break down and buy a snap-on version of. . . because they're so much better. Locking or non-locking your choice with a flip of a button, and 3x teeth engaging when locked not some flimsy rotated stopper. The non-lock is an instant disqualification IMHO. Thanks for the review. Capri is just another TEKTON, they don't make anything they're a middle-man putting in orders with Taiwan factories just like Harbor Freight.

    Spent many years in the tool business most in California and NEVER heard of Capri Tools. I have to assume
    They manufacture nothing and private brand everything they sell? Not necessarily a “bad” thing but just another
    “ me too” entry into the already overcrowded tool market. I would have to imagine they can’t have much of a market
    share.

    • @RedemptionGarage
      @RedemptionGarage  Před 4 lety +2
