    Pioneer DDJ 1000 Flight Case Custom Modifications (YOU CAN DO THIS TOO!)
    /// In this video, I show you a Pioneer DDJ 1000 flight case modification project that my friend Tamer and I embarked on earlier this year. This is not your ordinary flight case build video, as it was important to me to document the entire process of a flight case DIY. These DJ tips and tricks should provide you with great information when putting together your own audio rack.
    The video highlights the three phases I go through when putting together an audio rack setup; planning, purchasing the parts and of course, the installation of the various powercon, XLR and other audio connectors that make up a custom rack panel.
    For the most efficient mobile DJ and wedding DJ setup, I absolutely recommend putting together your own custom rack panel.

    This is dope and definitely something I would be interested in. Thanks for sharing. My only issue is I'm 6'3" and I typically take my controller (DDJ 1000SRT) out of the case and place it on top. I also use a 24" x 12" x 2" dense piece of foam under my case to raise the height even further and provide stability. It saves my back big time as I couldn't DJ with the controller in the case. Not sure if there's a work around for tall peeps!

      I know this is a couple years old, but I’m glad I found this! This is actually what I’ve been looking for as I just got a Pro X case for my DDJ 1000SRT (I assume it’s exactly the same measurements?) I am not a fan of drilling holes into the actual case so that panel with the connectors looks like what will work for me. I also don’t want to sacrifice any ports that are available. My question is that my case does not have the bracket or frame to attach the custom front panel in your video, so how would I go about doing that? Is that something I can add myself? If so, would you mind giving a name of what to look for? I would appreciate it.

    • @djkanoya
      @djkanoya  Před 3 lety

      Hi there ... well kinda crazy, but I have video responses to both of your questions, so I'll comment on each one individually.
      I just made a video comparing ProX and Odyssey. I think you'll be fine with either, as long as your Odyssey case has the FZ designation in the model number. The FR case, while more slimmer, is not as protective. The FZ (or Flight Zone) are comparable to ProX. A ProX reached out to me and did say they spend a little more on their rubber and foam, so take that for what it is worth.
      You can see that comparison video here: czcams.com/video/HN5uzAW2pms/video.html
      Regarding the sliding shelf, definitely get one that has it included. It will protect the controller in transit and you can always remove it when you set-up. And you never know, you might be in a situation where you need it (so it's good to have, just in case).

    • @djkanoya
      @djkanoya  Před 3 lety

      I 100% support the use of an external mixer at most events, but especially when microphones are an important component.
      A good upgrade for you would be a digital mixer, either from Mackie, QSC or Soundcraft. One of the greatest assets of a digital mixer is the ability to remotely control it from anywhere in the room (via tablet or smartphone).

    • @djkanoya
      @djkanoya  Před 5 dny

      Not sure, but the best thing you could do is compare the size specs of the two. I would err on the side of the SX3 being a bit larger, becuse you could trim the foam to fit. If it is smaller, then you would have to get some spacers or something to fill the space.
