- Today’s feature was part of an internet sensation that went viral in 2017 called Jelly Fam, which really consisted of undersized guards attempting to make not being blessed with the physical tools like size and athleticism cool, by adding more sugar if you will to their moves, specifically how they finished at the rim. Quinerly was not just one of the Jelly Fam, he was a McDonald’s All American who was supposed to have been the star of the show and future face of the brand behind Isaiah Washington. What made Quinerly so special and fit for that role was he had the look, the youth, and most importantly. of them all, he actually had a shot at making the NBA. He was that talented as a ball handler, scorer and distributor, unlike Washington who was really a shooting guard trapped in a point guard’s body that didn’t score well enough or assist well enough, and at his size and disinterest on the defensive end, presented a liability when on the floor for high level basketball. People became hyped about Jahvon because he was still young at that point, with his whole future in front of him and a developing fanbase on the internet. Immediately got off to a rocky start entering college under FBI investigation for corruption in college basketball, then not being a great fit at his first school, losing their support with one social media post, to transferring and having success before going down at the finish line, to watching younger players come in and leave him behind, to now transferring once again to his third school and what would be his 6th year on the NCAA level, almost solidifying an NBA opportunity may be off the table, and the official end to an internet sensation. Was supposed to grow into the face of Jelly Fam. I think he really had a chance to go all the way, and maybe he still does, but it's sad to see all he's going through.
Jelly fam was a one trick pony. Add injuries to that and you are not going to make it to the league.
Ik these players have to dislike you. Why make a video like this when he’s still has a chance to redeem himself? Why create this type of narratives on young black athletes you’re fucking with their image. Prime example Emoni bates you’re stunted growth on him should be deleted
@@Gustowrld He thirsty for content trying to act empathetic. Everybody not going to make the NBA and that's ok.
@@Gustowrld I've noticed that as well G.
Bruh shut up. Acting like he wasn’t getting busy at Bama.
Naz Reid made it to the NBA
big jelly
He’s having a solid career too!!
the goat
I don’t know if you know but Jordan Walker has been THE face of Jelly Fam the past two years killing shit at UAB, though he didn’t get drafted traditionally he got signed to a one year deal for the Mavericks…
Quinerly been ballin tho, he could’ve got a chance as an undrafted for sure
Jordan walker is the real deal. I played with him for my AAU team. We had a kid on the team who's dad was stupid rich and threw $ at the team to make it a dope ass experience so we got a bunch of st Pats kids like jwalker, buay coca (7footer) Jamir Harris, kid named AL(he was a freshman I think) that I think went to syracuse and a couple more from pats. But bro jwalker had this crazy level of finesse that was like no other and was pulling three's 6+ feet behind the three point line. Always knew that him and Al were the real deal. My favorite part of their game was how light they were on their feet. If you cut them off at any point they could so effortlessly change directions as if they had no inertia🤣 It was fun as hell. If jwalk wasn't so little he'd be a top player in a few years ez
@@IMaBeastDoWatDEn not coming off the season he had this year, I fw JQ but the ACL injury derailed him
@@Theguyyouknow34545yup quinerly has always been that dude but realistically no nba squad is takin a chance on a small 20+ year old dude who isn't an elite athlete doesn't due anything particularly elite and would coming off a big knee injury
Shoutout to Naz Reid. The only member to make the NBA and get a bag
Nba dont want any other corporations or movements to be involved with their organization, A major point to take into consideration.
Naz Reid is the member of the Jellyfam that did make it all the way
It gets forgotten often that he’s also in that group
I think Naz Reid is the only official Jellyfam 🍇 member to make to the NBA and be successful. I thought Jahvon was going to be drafted 2 seasons ago when he chose to stay another year at Alabama, he should've played at Arizona.
Jordan Walker just got signed to a one year deal for the Mavericks he official too
@@Theguyyouknow34545 And the star of the tournament, Markquis Nowell
Facts bro I saw her made it I was like wow that’s wassup.
@@Theguyyouknow34545WORD??? that’s wassup wow I saw he was going crazy in college
@@justchillinhowichill Yessir
JQ has always played with such style intensity. I'm a big fan, no matter where he ends up.
JQ great kid great family, will get his shot in G-league on two-way. NJ STRONG the book is not closed
I think he did well for himself, i never look at injury as a stunt. I hope he catches on at Memphis. I think he can do really well there
funny thing is he should’ve left after the 20-21 season i think he would’ve been drafted 🤷🏿♂️
A living testament as to how engaging in social media trends won’t take you to the league and how highlight culture is indeed hurting the game like Austin Rivers said in a video. MJ already told y’all he built his game on FIRE more than flash. Guys like the Jellyfam crew reversed the order and learned the hard way the price of social media fame! Remember, folks… take it from someone who played at the college level… flash = athleticism and “gifts”. Fire = hard work, determination and knowing your fundamentals. That’s why you saw Vince Carter transitioning from high flyer to shooter and stayed in the league as long as he did.
thats why kids these days knows how to "ball" but cant play "basketball"
@@tnsle000 Gilbert Arenas even said it. There’s hoopers and there’s basketball players. Hoopers can play basketball, but not when it’s organized ball and they have difficulty following plays, rely on their “natural gifts”, and struggle thriving in structure. Basketball players can remember plays, remember fundamentals and thrive in a team structure.
@@onlyone23km right! thats why i believe European players are fundamentally sound andskilled they are taught how to play the game.
Dope explanation!
@@Manleyworld thank you! It’s sad how Udonis Haslem and Jared Dudley were made fun of for riding the bench when if anything they’re the guys to learn from as to how to elongate a basketball career! Udonis didn’t rely on high flying, shooting or anything like that. He relied on grit, determination and hustle. Jared Dudley relied on shooting and everything else that doesn’t make Sportscenter Top 10’s.
1:17 was the most insane double dribble i've ever seen, one of the original destroyers of pure hoops LMFAO
That’s a tech 😂😂😂😂
He caught a pass
@@RoccstarLivinYT that could be true but even if that's the case he still travelled off the catch as shown @ 7:51
I don’t understand this video , i feel like he’s met expectations solidly, to have stunted growth u would have to underachieve, he’s performed very well relative to his athleticism that caps his potential, he’s been very productive on great teams for the last few seasons and was going to be considered by teams as a two way or g league player had he come out this year , he’s going to for sure be a professional in a solid league if not the nba if that’s what he desires, I’m actually pleasantly surprised with how his college career has gone after his Villanova stint
I believe in JQ. Idk if he’ll pan out to make the nba but he’s a pro for sure. He can play make, play solid d, just needs the rock in his hands. Bama had high recruits that got in his way.
he was a good player, and you don't have to make it to the league to be considered a success,
Keep up the good work I am up fan of the show
Still waiting for that Corey sanders video my guy 🙏🏿 excellent video as always tho
You could do Shawne Williams from Memphis he has a great story
Think he might have done that one
anther great video
Just by them highlights i would be fooled to think he was up next too 😂
This a good one
Idk if I asked you this before, but can you do one of these on Jason Gardner? Other than his size I never understood why he didnt make it. I just remember him being so damn talented. Like IT before IT. Definitely better than Gilbert Arenas in college. I am in my mid-30s now and I just want a deep dive on him. Thanks.
Yeah it might be the end for his shot in the NBA. He’s 24 now & the league values youth more than anything! He waited too late.
He should've went pro back in 2021 draft when he was a mid to late 2nd round projection
Do a Stunted Growth on KHALID EL-AMIN or SCOONIE PENN!! They were beasts back in the early 2000s in college for UCONN and OHIO STATE! Even JULIUS HODGE..he was a NY legend and nice at NC STATE!
I think he already did Julius Hodge
He already did khalid el amin, but he hasn't done evan burns,Daniel horton,Carlos hurt, deangelo collins, elijah ingram yet though.
Penny finna get this kid to the league
Choices! and Decisions! the Keys to Success!
Jq is a goat in Ny and jersey; he’s chasing a bag and if he don’t make it to the nba he will be a nba trainer one day
Most of jelly fam flammed out
I think naz Reid the only one
1998 lol 25 years old still playing college basketball sheesh lol
Do a Pierre Jackson or Dominic Artis Stunted Growth 📈💹
Do Chase Adams next!
You already promised!!
I'm a fan of his wherever he ends up. Jerz!
🔥🔥
Bro do one on Scottie Lewis and Bryan Antoine. Would be dope to here what the hell ever happened to them.
I remember I was on the computer in class watching all there games on ball Is life tryna jelly like them but ended up being a 3 n D undersize PG 🤷🏾♂️
Welcome to Memphis
Should have left after winning MVP in the tournament. NBA might be out the picture at this point but he will still be a pro. He was the best in the group coming out of high school now it’s Jordan Walker.
Naz Reid
@@suaverico7909 Naz is the best but I was talking about the guards.
Damn JC you kind of counting him out a lil early aint it?? lol Damn he has one more year in college...
Damn 🍇 looking bad fr..hopefully he takes the Michigan scholarship with his transfer lol
Jelly fam..😎
University of Memphis has recently expressed interest in Quinerly
the year prior was his best shot! overseas or CZcams is his best bet now.
He should have left after he tore his ACL. He was projected as a mid to late 2nd round pick that year.
They weren’t gonna draft him after he just tore his ACL…
Hey Jordan “jelly” Walker just got a one year deal from the Mavs … him and Naz Reid are the jelly fam in the league
Please do Jarvis Hays next
This shows you hard it is to get in the nba all the kids in jellyfam was top ranked in high school and only one made it and that was quis and he didn’t even get drafted
A Kelenna Azubuike stunted growth please?
How abt Lavance fields from Pittsburgh...gordon malone from west Virginia
All that jelly and no toast
Kinda felt bad for him when I kept/keep seeing his teammates go pro while he keeps going back to school
If you still feel like he can make it to the league why make an episode about him? & considering the times we’re living in now, hypothetically speaking, JQ could go undrafted and still play in the league. There are a multitude of ways to get in the league! Tell the whole story JC
If he doesn’t tear his knee up he’s in the league
Do Tyshaun Prince next ! @stuntedgrowth
Prince was a great player why would he do a vid on him
Washington was a All American 2.
Absolutely hated that wasted energy and unnecessary move for a lay up but he was always a solid player to me
He’s also just small they list him at 6’2 but he’s definitely is not 6’2 he’s more like 6 ft not even 6’1 and not Uber athletic so by default he is point guard and needs the ball be effective by default so it’s hard cause what team in the NBA can use him like they use trae young?
Ya'll prospective is off. Ya'll are judging TEENAGERS who grew up and played together for not being a success in the NBA lol ALL of them went D1 and that's RARE and one is pretty good in the league and THAT'S RARE. Could've stopped the vid when he decommitted from Zona for something out of his hands and what would've been a great situation for him and having to go to Nova who was set. Now when you don't get mins because they're set with their lineup you lose that year and a transfer year and now NBA scouts are looking at you different because you've now been in school 3 years. It's the most common way actual NBA talent gets lost in politics.
Jelly fam needs to find Quinn cook …and learn how to run an NBA offense and become a knock down shooter at the point!
Naz Reid was a McDonald’s all American too
Can we get a Wilson chandler stunted growth ?
Some dudes game just don’t fit the league that’s all it is doesn’t mean he’s bad or anything there’s
Plenty of mfs that are cooking in college that would probably never touch the league
The NCAA killed the potential of a talented individual, but as the quote goes, "Time haults for no man."
Shoutout Naz Reid
I never heard of this dude, but why would making a lay up harder then it needs to be, be a road to success?
Worse case scenario he should come play pro basketball in Australia after this college season.
My son played for Bmore Nike Elite AAU against this young man for 3-4 years. My son graduated college last May. He’s now 22 years old. When JQ finishes playing, he’ll be 25/26? That means when when my son was 13 years old starting in the backcourt with Immanuel Quickley, 14u, JQ was at least 16?😳
He’s too small, too weak, too slow, a defensive liability, and TOO OLD! Now that he’s playing against kids closer to his age, the game has caught up to him. I know what I’m talking about. We played them in Paterson NJ, NY, DC, Va. Fla., THEY NEVER CAME TO BMORE. Their team was stacked: Reid, Muhammad, King, Nowell, JQ.
Pretty intense games, but it’s disappointing to now realize the age differences. I’m glad my son was not seriously injured. It was what it was…
How many stunted growth videos is this dude gonna make on the same player💀💀💀💀💀💀
I like what you post in a way. Your video is a bit interesting, despite everything I'd say on several points that it's not objective enough and puts forward several negative criticisms not on the player's game but on the "jellyfam" concept and that's a real shame. In my opinion, excellent players like Quinerly, Nowell and Walker can't be judged in this way on such poor criteria.
I mean, what's wrong with having revolutionized basketball with their concept?
They've had a big impact on the game all over the world and have helped and continue to inspire young players of all sizes.
And it's a real shame that your analysis of Jahvon was so poor and full of criticism. I do hope he succeeds as he always has in the face of adversity and shines in the NBA or elsewhere.
Revolutionized? I bet you think BET revolutionized tv
Jordan walker made the league
Need a Sherman Douglas stunted growth.
Why does dude face look like anonymous
NAZ RIED THE ONLY JELLY FAM PLAYER TO MAKE IT TO THE NBA LEAST KEEP IIT💯
Damn he carried @7:52
Even doe they not inna league, they still turned the world on its head an created they own hype, with all the rise of social media, the players that didn’t make the league(I say that because I keep seeing Naz Reid inna comments) all should’ve marketed themselves like the Harlem Globetrotters an went around the world an did shows cuz even doe compared to NBA players, they have things working against them, to a regular 9-5 mf who working check to check, seeing Jelly Fam is the closet they gon get to league talent
Isaiah Was Not A SG He was A Pg . His Jumpshot wasn’t consistent/ good enough for college was never a 2 he was a real Pg
Definitely not stunted growth that acl injury just set him back...He was putting on in 2022 he be good next year after a year of full recovery
According to ESPN he's headed to Memphis, i hope he doesn't hang out with Ja Morant. 💥💥💥
I really thought he gonna be like a one and done first round typa player
He should play in the G league
Just a heads up Naz Reid was Jelly Fam. 1 guy made it lol
Maybe if he stopped playing you could say he’s failed… He’s been written off about 3 times & got bacc up…. Most would of gave up on their dream
He should have never went to nova that's the college spurs no sauce just wins
Devonte green
over 6 years in the NCAA ??? where is your degree mr. busta?
He has one man.
How you gonna make a video bashing him like this ? He entered the transfer portal to now increase his chances of getting to the NBA. If it wasn’t for his injury then he would have been in the NBA already. No way you can say his growth was stunned when he played 36 games coming off surgery lol plus win the SEC championship????? That’s just nuts !
Nazreon Reid is jellyfam
Derrick favors next
Joe Alexander please
He's a college graduate and still playing the game he loves. That means something in a country where white supremacists think it's funny to call our people Basketball Americans as an insult. I wish him the best.
Could play overseas.. nba no. He’s 24 years old. The fact that he’s known more for the “jelly fam” than his actual game should tell you enough
Where’s he transferring to
Memphis mane.
a lot of hype leaving high school but relied too much on talent. Like most college players didn't develop any above average passing, scoring or defensive skills. I wish they had a Rajon Rondo type of coach on college teams to show them how to create a competitive advantage by doing the intangibles . Maybe he finds his way in the G league and then eventually in the professional leagues in Europe or even NBA ✌ ✌
He can go straight to Taiwan
He got hurt , point blank period
Do Scottie reynolds
He's done Scottie Reynolds
It’s money in street ball. Jelly Fam could link backup and be a make shift AND1 team playing against OT, Friga, BallisLife and etc. They trippin everybody don’t make the league.
6 years in college? He’s not making the league.
He still have a season left so another Jelly Fam member might actually make it to the league.
Wouldn’t really say stunted growth, wasn’t that good to begin with….he atleast recovered and made a career out his game
Yeah. He couldn't shoot out of high school and he was almost 20 going into his freshman year of college. Undersized, ball dominant guards with a Shakey jumper and limited explosiveness usually aren't considered high level prospects.
