  • In this video you’ll see an outboard motor comparison between the ePropulsion 1.0 Evo and the Suzuki 2.5HP gas motor. I will also do an unboxing of everything I will be demonstrating in this video. This is the ePropulsion 1.0 Evo paired with the Spirit 1.0 Plus battery. I’ve got a lot of information in this video to share so hopefully it'll be very helpful for anyone looking to purchase a motor for their boat. Additional information can be found on the ePropulsion website www.ePropulsion.com. To contact a dealer, visit www.tbnation.net.

    The aerial views of your video was amazing. the quality you put into your videos is awesome. Of course the content is what I enjoy. Props to you for all the time and effort you must put in to produce this content. Plus all the time and effort in the content itself. I love the ePropulsion. The upfront cost is high but over the life of a boat motor, I'm sure you'll save money. Plus as these motors become more popular, they will get cheaper. Greay video. Tight Lines!!!

    That Suzuki is a super lightweight motor. There’s another guy that tested different 2.5 motors and said he got the best top speed with the Yamaha 2.5.

    I have been thinking about setting up one of these boats and I like to run both a gas engine for main cruising and running up rivers and larger lakes and a troller for fishing and use in some local impoundments which are electric motor only.
    Been watching a lot of reviews on the Hangkai 6.5HP 4Stroke outboards.
    The weight on one of these from what I can find is about 68 lbs, inexpensive at under $900 brand new and most people seem to be overall pleased with them.
    The reason for preferring a little larger motor than really needed is the f-n-r gearbox and a 4 stroke to be able to idle around not worrying about a 2 cycle loading up and fouling a plug along with not needing to run the engine wide open to get a comfortable cruise speed on such a light boat as one of these 10ft bass hunter designs.
    In your video you were talking about run time between the gas motor and thee E-motor but with the gas motor a $4 gallon of gas gets you going within a couple of minutes again.
    How long does it take to charge that battery pack in the middle of the lake to get going again? LOL!
    I really think we need to advance the battery technology a bit more before depending on them for any type of transportation use land or water.
    I am not positive what I will buy for sure yet and I am looking at one 12ft aluminum Jon boat and trailer in nice shape I can buy for a good price.
    The owner of that is supposed to call me when their father drops off the titles to the boat and trailer to them right after the holidays so I may end up going that route.

      I have just watched a blog by a sailor who is testing his new electric outboard. In two weeks he had never had to plug in a charger. His sailing mileage had kept the battery percentage above 75% through the regen. The technology is there, what are you waiting for?

  • @nathan00campbell

    Those electric outboards went almost be interesting, if you could just use a normal battery and not a proprietary one. Batteries in general are already expensive. But once they become proprietary they're pointlessly expensive. That being said you can get small gas four-stroke outboards that are able to run on an external fuel tank and drastically extend your range for pennies on the dollar compared to electric. Electric sounds like a good idea in theory but technology is just not there yet.

      You can use a normal battery on the E Propulsions motor ! It will run on a lead acid battery.

    Gotta say I love the look of that electric motor. Just wish it wasn't so expensive... oh well. Maybe in the future it'll be affordable.

    You are using a short shaft, on the Bass Raider, but the formula from epropulsion indicates a long shaft for a 20.75 transom on this boat. I am very interested in the motor for my Bass Raider NXT. Do you definitely rec the short shaft? Love the video!

    • @BassBrothersFishingDMV
      @BassBrothersFishingDMV  Před 4 měsíci

      Interesting. The ePropulsion distributor recommended the short shaft to me. I personally feel like the long shaft is too long but that's just my opinion, having never used the long shaft on my PBR.

    My mechanic charges 400 for winterization on my yammy. New water pump every few years plus gas and lugging fuel aboard. Long run prob save money with e-prop!

    How does that motor do against weed and growth? your in clear water... i've got salad from the spring all the way through. where i live gas motors are not permitted anywhere. so the electric would have to be the fair choice.

    • @BassBrothersFishingDMV
      @BassBrothersFishingDMV  Před rokem

      I haven't run it through any weeds. But I would imagine it would actually like any other outboard prop. It's not a weedless prop.

      E propulsion is poor, made the locking system breaks and the battery catches fire . Put this motor against a 4kn current, and you will stop.. 1kw =1.34 hp NOT 3hp they claim..

      Andrew Stone is a douchebag with ulterior motives. He leaves the same untrue comment everywhere.
      The thrust/torque is equivalent to a 3hp ice motor, as this and other videos prove.

    • @davidmatthews3093
      @davidmatthews3093 Před 2 měsíci

      @@andrewstone1868It provides the same thrust as a 3HP ICE motor. Electric motors produce instant torque and that’s what’s needed. Sorry to burst your bubble but the electric motor is simply more efficient. How do you live with such negativity?

    Just a little advice. If you’re gonna go through the trouble of making a whole video about testing these things, at least make sure that you’re control test are in the same type of environment with the same type of conditions. Otherwise the entire thing was for nothing and nobody learned anything.

    I will take the suzuki 2.5 anytime over that expensive 3,129 dollar e propulsion. It doesnt make sense when you have a 799 dollar pelican bass raider then put 3,000 dollar electric motor!!! I paid 650 dollars for my 2022 suzuki 2.5 motor and if you dont go full throttle you can get over 2hs run time on the motor.

      Well I’m amazed. The dinosaurs’ price guide has dropped $1000 dollars in a few minutes of reading. Another half hour and they might even have researched the real price.
