I'm a 46 yo white oilfield worker from Montana. Clearly you and I are from two different worlds, yet here we are, listening to the same song, and having basically the same reaction. That speaks volumes to me!! It tells me, that no matter our background, upbringing, political, spiritual, or religious beliefs, we're all still facing that same struggles. This man just happened to be able to put what we all feel, into a couple beautiful songs. Think about that! A SONG....that has stepped right over cultural, racial, political and religious lines, and brought MILLIONS of people together.
Exactly, this guys music has a powerful message which is why they offered him millions in an attempt to control it. The fact he turned them down tells me he's the real deal.

Us dudes have to stay strong for all those who came before us and endured.
When my in laws bought land out in East Texas we helped move their stuff out there. The next morning I sat on the porch of their house and just cried. It felt like home sitting in the middle of a forest on 10 acres. So many trees, so much green. I was able to hear all of the birds for once and all I could do was cry because it felt like home. That line where he says "concrete is the only thing growing around" it truly hit me in the gut. I'm tired of the concrete jungle. I'm tired of the noise. I'm tired of the fighting and bullshit. This man sings the truth.
The truth right here. The first time in years I was able to get out into the forest, I got out of my truck, sat down by a creek, and soaked it in. In my 26 years of life, that was the most at peace I had EVER been, and I admittedly shed tears when I had to go back to my house because I had to work, because I had to come back to all this nonsense in this world.
The fact that he turned down 8 mil really says a lot about his character. He knows he would be censored if he took a deal and be a part of the thing that he is fighting against. I love his message.

His statement on his Facebook page talks about his real life. He didn't want the attention from his music. If he took the contract for 8 million by time the producers , manager took their money the money would disappear quick. And he would be censored. He's independent and making money on the ITunes.

So glad you appreciate the realities he sings about. Oliver has struck a chord in the heart. I was a drug addict from 12 and lived that way for half of my life. I know the pain he feels, for many of my friends lost their lives before their mid-20's. When I came to the Lord, He changed my life and now I take the message to the streets and on CZcams. We may not have musical talent like Oliver, but we can all speak truth.
Oliver needs prayer because his background struggles are difficult and he needs the Lord to sustain him. The bible verse (Mark 8:36) he posted at the end stresses the immeasurable importance and value of the human soul, and to ensure you're right with God, rather than putting all of our focus on materialism that the establishment wants you to put all of you time and effort into.

I'm English and I have no connection, love or history with country music of any kind, but I know authenticity when I see it and I have never seen anything this real. This guy has tears rolling down my face listening to his music and has my anti christian heart melting and reconsidering my non existent relationship with god, that's how powerful this is. I have money and a nice home/car but when I think about it honestly my dogs are also the only thing I have to get up for each morning, I don't have god in my life yet. I really hope the machine does not get it's claws into this guy, the world needs some authenticity in these dark divisive days.

Perfectly speaks to the sense of helplessness and sorrow that many of us in this "new world" are struggling with. Especially young men who are constantly kicked down by the current culture that tries to tell them they are toxic, misogynistic and irrelevant. But...the massive positive reaction (across all demographics) to his music is proof that we are not alone and there is reason to hope.

It’s about the circumstances we find ourselves in, within society, and life, that are caused by greed, and corrupt politicians, and the blind NPCs that follow them. It’s about how their political policy and corruption has created an unjust world full of despair, dependency, and evil and it sucks to be in a world where this is how it is day in day out, and because of the hardships of todays new world, it has created a situation where he is hard on himself and beats himself up mentally daily and it’s exhausting. That said, he wants to be called home to heaven, because having to be here in this world, as is, is becoming unbearable because the rich politicians have created a perpetual cycle that most folks cannot seem to find a way out. This is an synonymous with many folks, and it resonates loudly. Hope this helps.
