RIP the two members of The Fat Boys Buff Love (June 10, 1967 - December 10, 1995), aged 28 Prince Markie Dee (February 19, 1968 - February 18, 2021), aged 52 You both will always be remembered as legends.
I'm 61 and I used to dance to The Twist when I was 5. Never heard of The Fat Boys but boy love this song and video. Will search for more videos and music of The Fat Boys.
I just randomly remembered this song existed and oh my God I'm 10 years old again. I had this cassette single. Miss this kind of innocence and fun in hip hop.
Fat boys gave us great times growing up n still going in 2022 jamming..love the gold chains more than ever..no curse words or hate but nice fun clean rap with people dancing n having a great time.. what's it all about
Wow this is when music video's and songs were FUN and weren't trying to be something. Im so glad i grew up experiencing some of it, albeit i was young! LOVE IT!!!!
R.I.P. to the legendary Mark Morales A.K.A. Prince Markie Dee I can’t believe it dead at only 52 years old that’s so young I remember growing up back in NYC listening to The Fat Boys music, my dad grew up with Kurtis Blow and my dad told me a story that Kurtis Blow had introduced them to my dad back in 1984 when Kurtis was working on their project debut album Prince Markie Dee will always be remembered as on the legendary pioneers of hip hop.
Who's here upon hearing that Prince Markie Dee passed away? R.I.P to Mark Morales, a.k.a Prince Markie Dee of the Fat Boys. #RIPPrinceMarkieDee #PrinceMarkieDee
That is my husband playing his black MusicMan Sting Ray Bass. on the left in back ! He is wearing a blue tank top shirt. He was in "The Chubby Checker Band" in the 1990's. This song was #1 in Europe for 2 weeks !
The Fat Boys were called a "Sell out" for making this and the song with the beach boys. Don't let the plays fool ya. My point is that great music like this is timeless. Just because you don't like what your favorite artist is doing compared to their past work doesn't mean they are a "sell out." It just means they are an artist exploring their creativity. I wish most people who listened to music could see that. I love this song.
@roeschuxxx I agree.....this is a video that all ages can enjoy. This is also a simple demonstration of how much of an influence Chubby Checker (Ernie Evans) had and STILL has on music and dancing. When Chubby released "The Twist" in 1961, most of the dancers and models used in this video weren't even born yet. Chubby..thanks so much for 50 years of Twistin' !!
I LOVE THIS SONG!! I haven't heard it in about 20 years, and I have never seen the video till now. What big fun! Chubby checker looks awesome, and the Fat Boys are terrific! This is what music should be--fun, fun, fun!
This video brings back so many fond memories of 1988 for me. I saw it while living in Orlando, Florida. It was on MTV. It's been so long. I'm glad that I'm able to see this video against after thirty long years. Thank you kindly.
I REMEMBER MEETING THESE GUYS IN PERSON WHEN THEY WERE PROMOTING THE WIPEOUT ALBUM IN HAWAII I MEET THEM MY CUZINS WORK IN HAWAII SUMMER OF 87' THEY WERE MOST HUMBLE GUYS YOU'D EVER MEET BEAT BOX WAS A FUNNY PERSON IM GLAD I MET HIM R.I.P THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES GUYS
I loved this vid....I met Chubby Checker in Baltimore with my dad in 1981...He's a really nice guy. I danced in front of the stage....He wanted me to come onstage, but I was 2 shy! Some of my friends said I was crazy for not dancin' with him,lol
I was 19 when this came out. Of course I was all into Siouxsie and the Banshees, The Smiths, Cure, Depeche Mode and that WHOLE music scene. But I damn sure had this 45! It was SO much fun!
You just know Chubby was happy to get out and still perform, it was definitely nothing but positive vibes when they did this. And if it wasn’t, let me think it was! 2024
Those were the best times to be living. I understand why you cried. There was more innocence then. Look at what this world has come to in such little time! At least people our age were able to experience the “good ole days”.
When I was young Chubby Checker allowed the gang from Carson Valley to swim in this great pond he had.. our transistor radios blaring out the original version into the air. I had fun watching this and remembering some nice times
A sad end 2 Darren Robinson AKA The Human Beat Box. Passed away on 12/10/95 from a heart attack age 28. No surprise. May he RIP. Thanks 4 the memories.
He was my favorite one too. Yah only 7 years after this was made I think, they were in decline by then but it really wasn't long past the height of their careers. The weird thing is Chubby Checker is still alive, 74 years old. MCA was also my favorite Beastie Boy and he died, what's up with that?
We could sure use all the wisdom that experience afforded you for meeting the challenges facing humanity today, in the year of our Lord, 2020. Chubby Checker, I am so sorry the world had forsaken you - written your off as a cocaine fiend, a sexual predator, has-been. We laughed when we we should have listened... we stood solemnly when we should have twisted...
this is the best frigging thing ive ever seen on a monday night at 10:28 PM wow thank you fat boys and chubby checker for showing out on this one, my hats off to yall
Is music was so successful in the radios of Brazil that the Fat Boys was invited to perform at the highest performers programs displayed on Sunday for the whole country with more than half of the public hearing. . And the presenter Fausto Silva was chubby like them.
I totally agree with you, just for the fact that Chubby Checker is on it, re-working the lyrics to mention their names, but I love the nostalgia associated with hearing the Fat Boys... take me back to when I was 6-7 yrs. old. ah, the good old days...
Ah... memories...Went to Worlds of Fun and saw my first live concert (Twisted Sister) before i was even fourteen all between 84 and 86. I'm a small town guy but back then it was just... so alive and COOL!
This is my generation. Had this blasting on my pioneer. No cussing. No gangster lyrics.. just great music.. thanks Fat Boys...
RIP the two members of The Fat Boys

I miss the 80s period! The Style, Culture, and of course the Music.
I miss that era a lot too!
with a guy from the 60s. Which was the best part of the song
I recently found this on vinyl. Reminded me of my old skating rink days in the 80s and 90s.
More musical talent in this one video than in the whole "musical industry" today!
R.I.P. Prince Markie Dee🙏🏻❤️❤️💔thank you for the memories 💕💙

that was the current "rap" crap's early attempt at corruption...they held out, but they succeeded today
Taking a trip down memory lane, to my junior high years. Rest in peace, Prince Markie Dee.
oh man, I was 12 when this came out. All innocence. Loved it.
Tee Cee I was 14 when it came out, and I was born in 1974.
I was -19 when it came out.
I was 11...
If I could live in the 80's forever I would. I had the best times of my life back then.
Oh God No! There were only Atari 800XL Computers then!!!!
If anyone thinks the 80s aren't the greatest decade in music history then surely they have not experienced the magnificence of this song! Behold!
The 80's. Greatest decade known to mankind. It was fun growing up back then.
59 Year Old In 2019 And still jamming with this song! Clean Fun!

Enough to say, Masterpiece, brilliant. Thank you all
no artist now so talented can dance/write/sing/ENTERTAIN all in one time only one and only Chubby Checker.
Loved these guys and Kid n Play growing up in the 80's. I can remember begging my mom to buy me the cassette tapes of these guys when I was like 12.
Another reason why the 80's was the greatest decade ever....

THE dance of the rock era. This song is just cool as hell. I'd shout out for a new version but seriously who could top Chubby and The Fat Boys?

Adam Yauch aka MCA of Beastie Boys fame. Passed away on 5/4/12 at age 47 from cancerous parotid and lymph node cancer.
😭😭
So sad. They were a lot of fun to listen to and I'm not a fan of rap music.

Thanks a lot for posting this Video. i've been looking for this for Years. Memories arriving on track 4.
one of the best collaberations ever
Still play this on my MP3 brilliant song as ever
Old school rap. Befor rap turned to crap. Good times. I think i was 13 when this came out.
Where did Chubby find that suit?
I’ve heard firsthand from a relative that crazy p1mp/church suits are still seen in Detroit. I imagine it’s the same with big inner cities.
My first concert was Rick Springfield back around 1983. I'm a city girl and back in the 80's it was just awesome. I can soooo relate with you.
Wow not heard this in 22 years bloody love it
This song has answered many of the questions I had about life and universe.

A great 1980s Twist. Miss those years.
Gangsta Rap was just on the horizon and rappers couldn't have fun anymore, without being seen as corny or soft!
The best music video I've seen and listened to in 2020. Great energy, attitude, and explosive👏 fun.⚡️✌️
