The most affection Tom has ever received from a member of the Roy family, including his own wife.
Marcia is chilly. I mean, I'm sure they deserve each other. I hope we get to see more of her soon. I really want to know her story.
@@xtxpxhx She was too busy doing Ramy lol
Also, the most affection Logan has ever received, including his own wife 😂
Tom started out as a pussy whipped lil Bish tryna get a leg up, and in the end I think he’s gonna come out on Top for sure! Greg too!
roman especially treats him like shit. he just hates him and doesn't make any attempt to hide it
Tom was one of the most sympathetic people this episode. I mean he always seems to make things weird but still sympathetic.
No it’s that he desperately wants to be in the family. So he lavished in the mistaken identity. That’s why he pathetically monitors shiv’s menstrual cycle because he knows he’s gonna miss his chance if he goes to prison.
@@michaeldenham5957 if he goes to prison even as a sacrificial lamb he knows Shiv will move on she was already cheating with her friend from college after they were engaged. And lol Tom doesn't do threesomes even with the thought or proposal of Shiv and another woman he was like he doesn't like sharing when he wants to make love or some shit.
@@Sam19509 Hey man, he's not a hippie, what can he say? lol
@@SuperRobertoClemente lol shiv is pretty hot and she was open to bringing another woman into the bedroom most straight men can only dream of such an opportunity being offered by their wives. I think it has been pretty solidly confirmed their marriage is purely optics and transactional there is no love there and Tom is too afraid to lose whatever standing he has in life to leave the relationship because he knows with being at Waystar via being shiv husband his opportunities on the market don't provide much aside for solely paid employment but no guaranteed career advancement and riches. Lol Logan literally insulted him infront of the family by saying he is under Shivs level not being good enough for her. Then he insulted Tom infront of his sons and other Waystar execs with the boar on the floor thing and implying his dick doesn't work because he couldn't provide him a grand child like Kendall and even Roman have. Add to that he gives cousin Greg way more respect than Tom likely because he is actually family related by blood and will inherit a waystar board seat whenever Logan's brother kicks the can. Lol Logan gives Conner's call girl girlfriend more respect than Tom.
@@Sam19509 I agree with most of that, but I do think Tom is madly in love with Shiv and incredibly vulnerable around her. This is why the threesome doesn't interest him-- he has no control over it, it feels like more cheap manipulation to keep him in line. Shiv will lead him to ruin, no doubt about it-- she is too damaged by her own family to love someone else.
I love how Tom realized something was off only when Logan started behaving affectionately to him. Poor bastard 🤣
"hold the scepter" "pop, papa.." tom has the best lines imo
“Do you need me to hold the scepter?” Lol
A nice double entrende with a touch of for-shadowing.

Starting to think Logan knew exactly what he was calling Tom in this scene after the S3 finale.
Yes! When Tom offered to sacrifice himself for Logan and then betrayed Shiv in the finale. They set this up all season
@@ambition415 the show runners do an absolutely amazing job
yeah, he wasn´t confuse, Tom was building that trust the whole season
Logan, at his worst, asking for Tom to follow him to the bathroom out of everyone else is a sign that he truly trusts Tom.

it was weird to me that tom called him papa until I realized he was trying to imitate conner which is a good assumption to who logan confused him for.
turns out he knew exactly who tom was
Logan knew exactly who he was! Here after the series finale. Wambsgans was truly the most deserving. He stuck by Logan through the end and got rewarded for it finally (in some form).

Extra different now!
Logan knew Tom's loyalty from the beginning
Here after the series finale.
Time to rewatch the entire series with Tom as the main character. :)
If you've see the series finale....this scene is more poetic...
That extra "papa" is so Tom. I love Tom.
Let's just be frank, Tom is the only one that finishes all the training program and did not make any dumb deal for Waystar, he deserves to be the successor of Logan.
(I said this on another CZcams video essay calling Tom the best character, but it applies here!) Thank you so much for saying this! Many people think Greg will somehow come out on top, but Tom and Kendall are the most business savvy and experienced. Tom has now become a killer. I know Greg is devious, but his tactics of self-preservation are nowhere near Tom’s Machiavellian level of playing the game. The difference is demonstrated with how Greg will literally ask Logan (the King), “What’s in it for me?” in a Gerri-esque behavior (a person who Logan tells to her face that she will never be his true successor and it’s just on paper/temporary that she’s CEO), while Tom is the only character who sacrifices for Logan without asking for something in return. If I were Logan, I would value Tom’s willingness to let me decide in what way I will honor that loyalty rather than demanding payment (like every single other character on the show would do/has done to Logan). To be fair, I’m also a big Matthew Macfadyen and Pride & Prejudice/Mr. Darcy fan, so I am biased 😂. But, I still stand by the argument that Tom is the best and most deserving character/it would be the most satisfying outcome for him to be the one on top at the end. If any one else got the succession, it would make me question the writing, which I currently have only praise for, and feel like I’m watching Game of Thrones’ ending, which I think we can objectively agree was a disappointment in terms of all the work done throughout the show. Based on everything from the beginning, Tom is the one to watch/win. Always has been!
Nah, he was very unprofessional in the courtroom, no way he can be a successor. Logan is thankful that he can trust him and will give him a high position but being loyal is not equal to being ruthless and a good businessman.
@@TheEtherny it is a hearing not a court room. And only Kendal did better than Tom
Yup finale so true
OMG you were right
I’m trying to imagine any of Logan’s children attempting to handle this situation, and each scenario seems more disastrous than the next.
I think Connor might have been able to handle it all right. He was the one who first realized that Logan had a UTI. And he would felt honored if Logan actually asked him for help.
I bet it was purposeful of Logan calling Tom ‘son’. Pure genius.
He asks instantly all the things that kendall never asked to his father in these moments in 3 seasons "are u okay?" "need help?" "we need to get u seen by somebody"
Exactly. The contrast between Tom in this scene and Kendall last episode is stark
well he didn't try to send Tom to jail

spot on my guy :)
I believe Logan definitely knows that was Tom, his sickness lower his guard and makes him show affection to Tom.
Logan was trusting Tom more and more. So I don't think Logan would have an issues with Tom being his successor. And in the real world the son in law taking over the company is normal.
That was the first time I've seen Logan really vulnerable. The way Tom helped him almost made me cry.
Tom was the MVP of season 3.
Of the series bud. MVP of the series.
@@kunalbilaney1188 Indeed
Always at the right place at the right time.
Tom's character was the most intriguing to me out of anyone in the show. Such breadth of humanity.
Here after the series finale. It was meant to be Tom all along! What a ride this has been. Huge thanks for the entire cast and crew and to Jesse Armstrong for spoiling TV Shows for me lol.
I feel like you might wanna put a spoiler warning before this comment, never know if someone might accidentally come across it. I mean it’s at least partly on them to try to avoid spoilers but better safe than sorry, you know?
My mother's parents always called my dad "son". He was there when they both died, unlike their real son. They had an amazing relationship. This was not an accident. Tom earned Logan's respect and trust by the end.
The title of this video aged like fine wine
Anytime pop. Poppa.
lol this line never fails to crack me up
Honestly Tom seems like a sweet person if you’re a family member.
The thumbnail almost looks like Logan is laughing and Tom is scared shitless
Foreshadowing for the series finale
this was and excellent foreshadowing
This and the plane scene. Tom being the only one with Logan while his children were not present. Logan knew Tom was the chosen one in that plane. Knowing he couldn't trust the position to any of his children as he had failed to raise a successor is what killed him.
it's very interesting to watch all these scenes in retrospective after the finale
I'm sure that Logan deep down stil misses Kendall
actually Logan meant something to Tom, remember the ending of episode 9 s4 when he shares with Shiv that he had opportunity to say goodbye to him with sadness
one of the most key scenes of the show, and perfectly performed by these 2
So who was Tom playing in Logan's mind? Connor is the only son tall enough, and he's always meeker to Logan, so that would be my guess
Kendall
I was thinking Kendall simply because Kendall was the one giving him his pills and caring for him last season
Brian has said that he believes Logan does love his children, so I wouldn't be surprised if he was "talking" to Ken and if he and Ken, at some point, were somewhat close but obviously no longer the case.
The music here is so perfect
Watching this scene after the series finale. It makes all sense now why Logan called Tom "Son" and why ultimately Tom became his successor. The makers were developing Tom's ascension to the throne arc all along. We didnt notice.
I noticed it.
I had this back on my mind since this very scene.
But it was rather his "Luck."
@@first9_yt I actually thought since the beginning and I think it was pretty clear. Tom was the only one without money, and also was family. He always was with Logan and Logan was noticing him more and more each ep. Like when Greg speaks about how Tom is mean to him and Logan takes it as a cumpliment, then the betrayal to Shiv so he can stay loyal to Logan, etc etc
Logan knew
Its crazy how everyone was really at their peak worst in this episode especially ken tom and greg AND logan even though he wasnt in his right mind lol. Terrific writing for a terrific episode
Maybe it was an endearing term more than confusion?
I can't feel for a malignant narcissist but it was heart warming on Tom's behalf.
Tom can be so cringe, i love it.
He deserves to be ceo after all
I mean, i'm quite sure Tom creamed when he heard the "son" from Logan.
Looking back I feel like This was foreshadowing the finale Logan favouring Tom over his own children.
In retrospect this one moment is when we should have known Tom would be CEO.
Did he call it the 'Sceptre'?
Logan was holding a walking stick, a scepter, so probably not referring to the meaty stick but an actual wooden one
@@BENcsx Uh no, he's definitely referring to his penis here
@@BENcsx i hate that you're probably very right but i also love that it is so on brand for tom to call it a sceptre that many of us, myself included, just accepted it and brushed it off as one of tom's eccentricities lol
Pop. Poppa
that is what Conner calls him when no one else is around. I think Tom knew Logan was not right in the head and confused him with Conner. He confuses Shiv for his wife Marsha later.
Pop Poppa is my favorite west coast rapper
@@Sam19509 omg a brilliant catch! ❤ This looks like the most convincing version to me
This scene reminds me of Jacob hiding his identity and receiving the blessing of inheritance from blind Isaac.
Very keen observation and allusion! That’s an excellent point as Tom does ultimately want to be on top. We know that from convos with Shiv about his place in the company since the show started. He also is the most qualified (and whose track record with Logan is positive) of any of the family in consideration: Shiv, Roman, Kendall, Greg, Marcia, Marcia’s son, Tom.
logan isnt confused
Logan trusts Tom. He knows He is loyal
Well Tom is his son in law
Technically Tom is his son in law
The Tom Logan dynamic was one of the more confusing ones. But in a good way
toms reaction lol completely unphased
Tom my favorite character then Rome and then Getty
You mean Roman and Jerry
The cousin Greg and Tom duo is unbeatable.

That thumbnail is unintentionally hilarious
whos watching this after the season finale?
This all makes sense now!
Well... You can call your daughter's husband that.
It was always meant to be Tom Logan knew what he was saying
Confusing Tom with one of his son's → ok
Confusing Tom with Kerry → yikes
confusing Shiv with Marcia = uhmmm
Tom's such a great character, he does have a naturally sweet, caring and affectionate side but because he has such low esteem is is addicted to abuse hence he gets in bed with a family of narcissists, who treat him like garbage. He is looking for love where there is none. Asa result, he takes his love by social climbing he is also using them in reverse. But being a middle-class outsider he still has an understanding of empathy the rest didn't have, especially the siblings. Even at his wedding he hugged all his family but Shiv didn't touch anyone. This scene makes alot more sense after the finale.
When Tom calls him "Papa", he finally reveals his true feelings for Logan. 😂
*son*
He's a son-in-law. There was no confusion there.
After seeing how it all ends this is kinda funny/not funny 😜
Well, Logan is not confused because Tom is married to Shiv his daughter which makes Tom his son in law.
I caught this arc from this episode(I think even before that, from the very first episode.)
Papa.
I think he means son in law
Which son did he mean?!
I think Kendall, he used to be the one who gave him pills and knew about his health issues the most out of his kids. Also in season 2 he was constantly with Logan helping him with everything.
So he confused Tom with Kendall? Since both Roman and Connor were in the room...
No he wasn’t in the right mind .
Makes sense 🙂
To be fair,Tom is more of a son to Logan than that all those siblings,he stood by Logan regardless the situations,I believe Logan would have been satisfied with the outcome at the end with Tom as the CEO.
Can you post the scene where Logan says to Tome he'll remember Tom sacrifice?
Tom was as much an asshole as anyone else, but he was one of the few characters who could've easily changed for the better if anyone ever gave him the time of day. My guy was desperate for anyone to care about him lmao
He’s such a good boy. Why did he marry Shiv?
I will say they were not bad when they were in DC, though Shiv cheated on him, she still comes back to Tom
you know why. social climber.
I was getting ready for Logan to diarrhea all over the goddamn floor as this episode progressed.
Tom turned tables to get the leverage that Shiv had. He still wants to be with her though but with him being the more powerful of the two.
Shiv was the major loser in S3.
Kendall is a joke every season.
Wait, doesn't he just mean that as if to play up son-in-law, who he prefers as a son?
Whats the song name? Cant find it in the new album
It’s the second half of “Concerto Grosso in C Minor + End Credits” from the Season 2 Soundtrack
lol
💀
btw remember how Ken visited Logan's birthday party, but the real successor, Tom, haven't visited his funerals because of work. This is why he won
Kendall had to attend the funeral because it's his father's; and because he needed to court the gatherers to amass power for himself.
really seems like logan is faking it a bit here
