- I visited Guimaras early 2018 - a beautiful unexplored little hidden gem! In this video I'll show you the tour over land, and of course the island hopping. All information on what to do and where to stay in Guimaras is down below!!

-WHAT TO SEE IN GUIMARAS-
We did two tours. The tour over land and the island hopping tour.
► Land tour
We saw only half the tour. Normally it features:
- Windmill park
- Holy Family hills
- Ruins of the lighthouse, and you could visit the beach close by
- Mango farm
- Monastery with Trappist beer!
I would suggest you take a taxi instead of a tricycle. I mean: the driver was really very nice! But the distances are very long and you’ll definitely get a sore butt ;)
Wake up early morning, cause you’ll need lots of time to see all!
► Island hopping
We arranged this with a captain in front of our hotel, just on the beach.
We saw:
- the sandbar with the island next to it
- a cave in the water (some boats go in, bigger don’t)
- an other beautiful beach with very shallow water
- A platform / houseboat from where you could jump into the water from a nice hight (not featured)
-WHERE TO SLEEP IN GUIMARAS-
There are a lot of options actually, but we found a hotel that just opened. A really cool place with good rooms next to the beach! It’s next to the popular Raymen beach resort, but less big and the building is very cool!

Visiting Guimaras! A little hidden gem. Mango heaven but also with some sweet surroundings! I'll make a separate video on how we tasted some mango related food :) But first, let's explore!

Another great travel again Gretl. We from Iloilo just see that island every day. The nearest point is from Fort San Pedro they call the lover's lane...big ships passing in between those islands everyday. Donya Paz sank in the 1980's and Iloilo port was used to rescue and take care of relatives.
There's another cave in those little islets you saw that has fossils of sea animals and plants in the roof. Locals doesn't know the history. I think our islands was probably submerged thousands of years ago. The nearest active volcano is Mt. Canlaon but they said there must another dormant volcano around just looking at the sand in Iloilo and Boracay. You're a great travel blogger Gretl.

I suppose to have my vacation this summer in the Philippines and go home for a while in Iloilo. But because of the pandemic now. I've stay put here in Thailand. I miss my home town Iloilo and wanna visit the beautiful beaches in Guimaras. For now, let's relieved the past videos that we had and enjoy watching it again and again. 😊
I'm a full Guimarasnon and currently studying as a Tourism student... seeing this videos make my heart happy thank you so much for promoting our beloved island... Its so hard to even pinpoint in map but people like you is making way for us to be discovered... I am studying this course in order to give back to my community and to fully utilize its beauty and potential in a sustainable way...

Come and visit the jomalig islands in Philippines. It’s untouched island and they have golden sand and pure white and soft sand in each island. Very diverse marine life. I hope next time you come and visit this island.
