इस गीत को हम संगीत प्रेमी जब भी सुनते हैं ,तो इसके गीतकार ,संगीतकार गायक और अदाकार की याद आती है। ये सभी स्वर्गवासी हो चुके हैं लेकिन अमर संगीत के रूप में यह गीत छोड़ गए हैं । संगीतकार सज्जाद हुसैन साहब को शास्त्रीय संगीतकारों ने भी देश का सबसे बड़ा मेंडोलिन वादक माना था। गीतकार राजेंद्र कृष्ण जितने जानकार हिंदी और तमिल के थे, उतने ही उर्दू के भी थे । गायक तलत साहब का तो जवाब ही नहीं और अदाकार दिलीप साहब तो अपनी मिसाल आप हैं।

Talat Mahmood sahib is most difficult singer in the bollywood. Even Rafi sahib can't sing his sings.
Talat sahib was classically educated singer upto University level. So all other singer don't have such a high classical knowledge.

In my personal opinion, this Talat sahab classic is probably Sajjad sahab’s best composition, and "Sangdil", his best soundtrack. The story behind this song is stuff that legends are made of. So obsessive was Sajjad sahab's quest for perfection that the song was finalised in the 17th re-take. This masterful composition based on Raag "Desh" was matched by Rajinder Krishan ji’s brilliant lyrics and Talat sahab’s silky voice. Thanks again for this outstanding upload.

Yes, what a voice he had. Well, I did the best I could with the movie and its songs, but the sources are pretty bad. What I'd really like, rather than a DVD source already butchered by the Indian media companies, is a decent quality VHS tape with which to work. I've had good luck with some of the PAL VHS tapes that have come my way. Or more western company DVDs, such as the Carlotta DVDs of Sholay or Pyaasa or Sahib Bibi Aur Ghulam. Or the Criterion DVDs of some of the restored Satyajit Ray films. All much better than anything produced by the incompetent Indian companies.
India's pride, Dilip Kumar. RIP.

If you'll forgive a nitpick, the translation of the refrain is inaccurate. The lines mean:
This breeze, this night, this moonlight, all would give themselves up for the sake of a single one of your graces/blandishments/mannerisms ("terii ek adaa" = a single graceful mannerism of yours; "pe nisaar hai.n" = are ready to sacrifice themselves for the sake of).
Why should I not desire you? The freshness of spring itself searches for you. ("terii justajuu me.n" = in search of you; "bahaar" = spring, freshness, flowers).
So you have the first half of each line right ("ye hawaa ye raat ye chaa.Ndanii" - "mujhe kyo.n na ho terii aarazuu") but the second half is inexact.
Pick as many nits as you like. :) However, please understand I don't speak the language at all, didn't create the translations, and have to rely on the crummy translations that come with the DVDs. I do go through every line to correct the timings and any obviously bad English, but can do nothing about inaccurate translations.
