Hey, if you're doing this "why is everyone buying x" series, what about a series "why is nobody buying x" where you look for products (or that the team already knows) that are very underrated, although requiring more work than this series and would most likely be a niche I think it could be interesting.

My biggest concern with a lot of these Amazon best-selling products is that their 10s of thousands of ratings are almost always extremely misleading. Many/most of these smaller cheap Chinese brands is that they somehow re-use/recycle listings for products while keeping the total ratings of the older products. I can't even tell you how many times I've looked at a product that was essentially brand new and had thousands or tens of thousands of positive reviews, where many of the reviews were quite clearly for a different product altogether. I really with Amazon would do something about this because it is the epitome of ratings-manipulation and dishonest business practice. Buyer beware...

    • @Kjtuiono

What they do is they flood their brand with some good but cheap products and some bad and also cheap products and somehow the good product they made somehow ends up with reviews for all their products as a whole on all their items idk why it doesn’t make any sense.

    • @RockingStar1011
      @RockingStar1011 Před rokem +19

@@Kjtuiono No, what they actually do is abuse Amazon's feature that lets you edit your product's details (which is absolutely fair and important to have). They put out a cheap and decent product, generally in a high volume, 'easy' market (like kids toys), let it gather a bunch of reviews, then completely overhaul the page to the tech or electronic product they want to scam off on. It's pretty noticeable if you save one of their 'original' items, wait long enough, and you'll see that one day it magically transforms into something entirely different. Amazon isn't mixing product reviews at all, it's the seller changing the product page itself.

Love pieces like this, as we all know the quality of accessories for gaming is highly variable, and often mainstream big-brand products are priced way over their actual worth. While in this particular case since I have fairly large ears I'm probably not going to purchase this particular headset, I think it's great to point out value products that are affordable. I had a mouse go out on me recently and I had happened to watch the LTT video on a cheap Logitech mouse, ordered the exact same one (at a tenth of the cost of the one I was replacing), and it worked just as well for my needs. Similarly, I grabbed a redragon mechanical (blue switches) keyboard for about $40, and it is quite simply the best keyboard I've ever used. I have EVGA's optical/mechanical board, a $140 Corsair board, and this blows both out of the water, and the build quality feels very solid. You don't always have to throw big money around to get a good product, and the more attention that can be brought to such products, the better. In a world of increasingly normalized $1k+ GPUs, it just makes sense to not blow your wallet on everything else in your build. Not a lot channels routinely review low-end accessories, and I wish more did; you can find some real crap sitting right next to the solid value products in stores. I'm not going to select an apparent no-name $20 part if I can't find any trustworthy reviews on it. So basically: more of this please! :) These reviews are very helpful.

I picked it up for a one-off Back 4 Blood session on XB1 (I mean, it was Back 4 Blood, of course it was a one-off...), and I've continued to use it on my XB1 for games where I wanna have the soundtrack up close and personal, like Shredder's Revenge and Hydro Thunder Hurricane.

That being said, everyone said I sounded amazing and I could hear really well at distance in a game. Of course my hyper x were a significant upgrade - those generic headsets did more than a good enough job. Ears did get hot though. I highly recommend the jeecoo v20s for budget gamers. I use one that is similar to this, but i ordered a pair of 20$ IEMs and a 4$ lavalier mic off Aliexpress just today and based on reviews this combo should be so much better than this piece. Sure, it's two cables instead of one, and lav mic requires a bit more hassle, but i think both the sound and the mic performance will be worth it
UPD: Finally got all the stuff, so time for a quick review: according to my friends the mic is ok and doesn't sound better or worse if placed on the collar, so it's basically the same thing, just with a touch more hassle, however the iems compensate for it: i've never thought the games sound this spacious. To be fair, my 30$ tws earbuds sound about the same(a bit less bass and the highs aren't as clean as far as i can tell, and maybe a touch worse soundstage), but compared to the headset it's much better and i would easily pick the sound quality and hassle of putting on iems and a lavalier rather than the convenience and crappy sound of a 25$ headset.

It was a bit tight on the head, but not that bad. Also the cups were slightly small making them into a sort of on-ear instead of around ear headphone. The mic was acceptable at this price point, but the mute switch didn't actually fully my mic. Rather it reduces the mics volume a whole bunch, but sounds of me clapping or dropping a pencil could still be picked up by the mic. The cup s would get uncomfortable within 2 hours and your ears will be red after 4 hours of use. They are also a bit on the heavier side and the headband cushion doesn't do to well of a job. Your head will be dented if you use these.

I would personally like to see a review from you guys on the RIG 800 series headsets. They are a bit pricey, starting at 150$ usually, but they have some interesting quirks that make them stand out against everything else I've seen or used. The use a more open back ear muff style, so they don't cancel any noise, and the adjustment is, well, different. The entire ear piece pops in and out of the band for different adjustments, which makes setting them up take a little bit longer, and removes a little bit of fine adjustment, but you will only every have to set them up once, because they cannot change unintentionally. My one personal complaint is the fact that they use the drop down mic style for muting and unmuting, which is the biggest point of failure. I had to take mine apart when the mic cable inside the earpiece wore out after excessive use and repair it, but that wasn't all that difficult. I upgraded to their most recent model not very long ago, purely because it comes with a charging dock, and I should probably note, that the headset I ended up with, had a lemon mic. The mic just doesn't work, but that doesn't seem to be a problem I've seen anyone else mention so I probably just got unlucky (I have a desk mic anyways so it wasn't a problem for me)

@@IanDresarie yeah the cloth ones are so much better, my dad has been daily driving his hd595's for the last 10 or so years with the cloth earcups and only now are they starting to wear a bit. while the original pleather ones broke after around a year

This video is how I learned that Sennheiser does still make gaming headsets in some capacity, and I can finally upgrade the set I've had from them for years

For the price, you'd be much better off with the Koss KSC75x (25USD), or for a bit more the KPH30i with Grado G Cush earpads (~40USD, 30USD without the G Cush earpads)
Much better frequency response and overall audio quality, as well as the ability to easily mod them if you're into that (The KSC75 in particular has a ton of mods to do things like adding MMCX connectors for a replaceable cable and adding a headband or mounting them to a VR head strap)

I personally have the DROP + Sennheiser PC37X, awesome headset that has served me well. Great audio quality with strong build quality and a good price. I got it on sale for 80$, normally $120-125. They’re obviously nowhere near as cheap as these are, but they’re an awesome pair of headphones that will last you a long time.

I have the PC38X and they're pretty good too, but I feel like the mic has some trouble sometimes. It's hard to pin down but sometimes people tell me they can't hear me unless I put the mic practically in my mouth. This can change from one call to the next with no consistency though.

I've used this one....twice. This is not that great, but for the money, it's good enough. I find Turtle Beach's cheapest headsets to be much better for not too much more money though.

I only use one type of headphones and that is Soundbot SB221. They are a pretty damn good headphone for around 15 to 25 dollars and the thing that I like the most about them is they last all day and are light weight and work just fine for me. I have had a several pairs over the years. We have right now 6 pairs as everyone has 2 pairs of their own. I have two old back up ones that still hold a charge.

Since 90% of gaming headsets are missing Sidetone / direct Microphone feedback i have switched to Focusrite 4i4 and Beyerdynamic long ago. I can digitally mix channels without any latency, i can mix my microphone into my headphones so i have Sidetone / direct Microphone feedback and then i can also mix it into the microphone channel with different volume - i can therefore configure if i want to hear myself and how loud completely decoupled from what others hear. Also i can use the third channel and mix out my microphone only and use that as Line In for my work laptop. I then mix together my PC, laptop and smartphone using an Yamaha MG06.
So tl;dr i can use the same Mic and Headset for all my devices and i can use any headset or mic i want since i own a 48V XLR converter for normal 3,5mm headsets

Please do a video explaining/testing the effects off thermal paste pump out, i’ve been getting a lot of pumping out effect on notebooks and gpus (cpus are fine) after 6 months / 1 year (or even less time) with noctua nt-h1 and h2… For those who dont know what im talking about, is when the paste physically leaks out of the place that is meant to be.
