i dont understand how capcom makes a great ass sequel to dmc4 (dmc5) but fails to do it for sf4 2 times in a row (sf5 and what seems to be another failure, sf6)

It's almost heartbreaking to see all the combos this guy can pull off and my execution sucks so bad I've been trying to get a lot better at this game since the release of Ultra and I still can't do squat for combos. I struggle so hard to even get a DP/FADC/Ultra1 in training mode.
Hey :) it's all about CONCENTRATION, and what you play on :p for me i did all those combos on a crappy old laptop keyboard , but i can't combo using a controller for example, i just got used to the keyboard, the secret is to go realy slow when you train, your fingers have to get used to the buttons, right down right punch? µyour fingers have to do it on their own,
Thanks for the tip. I'll try to slow things down. It feels like everything has to be so fast. After I try for a while I find myself getting worse because I go too slow and then start trying to mash things out faster. I find myself going through a bunch of different characters in this game that each teach me something a little new and just today decided if I want to get the hang of actually doing some real damage I need to start working on some half decent combos so I thought Ryu was probably a great place to start down this road.
Ryu is by far who you should start with, it took me a full year to master him and now i'm learning Evil Ryu and Seth, the secret is to comboing is to go slow we both already know that, lesson one, shoryuken FADC ultra 1. try learn it step by steps, once you main the shoryuken try to fadc, one you main those two just do ultra 1
i used to Fdp my way through easy mode :p

Ryu is not human just because he is Japanese and his eyes are not slant.

basic combo but is very practical during a match, well done !

this might seem a bit of a weird question but i see people alternate between crouching and standing shorts when doing combos what is that all about eh? is it easier to execute or something?
+Riddle Nanngi if you do two crouch medium punch , you can't cancel the third one to a special ( hadoken shoryuken or tatsu for ryu ) but if you do alternate you reset that timer, so for example, you can do two crouch medium punches but if you stand and do a third one you'll be able to cancel it into a special

In trying to learn Ryu in this game, but he seems really weak compared to the rest of the cast. His fireballs are avoidable, and most characters simply overwhelm him. It's frustrating. Any advice on how to play better with him?

freeway230 you can kick ass with RYU the secret to it is a good footsie game, master the basic bnb and fadc combos and patience, lots of patience, most of ryu's damage comes out of punishes
i guess he deals most damage, and if you get a counter hit, probably ryu is the only one who can deal that level of damage, so try getting counter hits. well m a noob too buy ryu is the only one i can play nicely llol

Yes it is, because EX Shoryuken puts the opponent into float state. But U2 is still generally worse than U1

Most combos are corner based combos....put some combos which can be utilised in non corner positions
i just dont like the fact that when super art done along with the combos its damage is reduced, like when a super art is perform directly it deals more damage. idk why they have to reduce the damage

Alas, you have now found out about the woe that is damage scaling. Gen has it worse with his waterfall kick/gekiro combos...
It's because doing a combo before the super lets you remove the risk of wasting your super because you can use the combo to confirm that they are not blocking.

it's all links and setups, you basically press the buttons at the right moment to link, let's say, crouching medium punch with crouching heavy punch, you can then do the hadoken motion , down right punch before the crouching heavy punch animation is finished, i'm not good at explaining but i can try :p

Basically Ryu have only jump attacks to approach the target OR hadoukens... this is pathetic. Also theses combos are mainly based on supers, what the fuck are the normal moves made for in this game?
there's a list of meterless combos in the very begining and yeah the best engage in this game is a Jump heavy punch or kick or a cross up

Meterless combos are combos that dont the EX/Super meter so they're basically free combos
