Why not go mortal reminder 2nd or 3rd? I feel like it has a lot of value (maybe more than pd even) vs gwen in general and especially this game vs 3 tabis and a tanky shyv
Gwen barely buys armor, at least in the early or mid game, perhaps the 850 item to reduce healing would help, but PD as a second item provides more damage than MR, as a third item something more defensive is better, like Sterak, Dead Man or Nature Force.
Besides, Garen already reduces 25% armor with E, I don't see the need to buy Mortal Reminder so quickly in the game.
@@GlitchLamb Short trades with phase rush it’s fair to say that MR is better than PD though vs gwen since you actually get ad and armor shred? Let’s say you’re both 2 items and boots she for sure has tabis then. You’re also opening with q most of the time so you get minimal value from e armor shred.
That’s my 2 cents I wouldn’t say I’m 100% sure MR is better second but a lot of games it feels way more potent than PD 2nd. Darius is another good example imo
@@joshuam4880 The problem that Garen has is that it is difficult for him to eliminate enemies that stack HP, Gwen's first item is Rift Maker that gives her HP, and she usually uses runes that give her even more HP, so buy an item like Mortal Reminder to reducing the little armor she has is counterproductive (At least as a second item for Garen), exactly the same thing happens against Darius, he buys Stridebreaker (HP) and Sterak (more HP), so the Mortal Reminder is very ineffective (I repeat, as a second item), if you want grievous wounds, you take ignite.
I could have gone MR third item and it would not have been bad at all. I usually go for PD second for the insane 12% movement speed that helps with moving around the map faster and decent damage. Since we already had 3 other heavey damage dealers in the team I went a bit tankier build than normal and decided to skip out on MR, which otherwise is a great option vs Gwen as third or fourth item.
Why go Overgrowth? Isn't better to just get like Demolish or something? She has %max hp on passive and R
Overgrowth kicks in a bit later im the game where im going up against the rest of her team as well. So the HP isn’t juat for the gwen but instead for surviving teamfights longer.
A lot of demolishes power comes from getting plates earlygame, but vs Gwen its hard to get in position to get plates because of how much weaker you are than her earlygame.
