U.S. DEPUTY SECRETARY OF STATE MEETS PRIME MINISTER FIAME NAOMI MATAAFA -05th August 2022.

U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman is on a goodwill tour which include Samoa, Tonga, Solomon Islands, Australia, and New Zealand from August 3-9.
The Deputy Secretary’s travel to the region reflects the United States’ commitment to engage meaningfully with fellow Pacific nations in the spirit of partnership and friendship.
Arriving early this morning at Faleolo International Airport, Deputy Secretary Sherman met Samoa’s Prime Minister Fiame Naomi Mataafa followed by a Joint Press Conference.
Sherman is the first senior U.S. official and among the first foreign officials to visit the country following the August 1 reopening of Samoa’s international borders.
