Love you guys! My hubby and I are born and raised in the northeast. my husband is a Jersey boy- his parents are Colombian. I'm a New Yorker - Puerto Rican/Mexican. We bought land, in Atlixco, last year and finalizing our construction. So excited for this move! I seriously feel you guys know what emotions we’re going through at this moment in our lives. Btw we lived in Chi-town for a couples years too 😉. Come visit us whenever you feel like taking a drive to Atlixco!

Same here, we loved San Cristobal, but both got very ill. I LOVED Comitan de Dominguez! So beautiful and charming and El Chiflon was nearby ❤ Palenque was great. I saw wild Macaws and so much natural beauty around it. Campeche was fun, colourful, and unique. Valladolid put on 2 great light shows and was great to explore. I'm excited to spend time in Taxco next trip to Mexico.

I suggest, although not yet a Pueblo Mágico, is my hometown of Tangancícuaro, Michoacán which includes the Parque Nacional El Lago de Camécuaro! The waters are clear and can see straight to the bottom, food vendors, and lanchas that you can take out on the lake for a little chill session while bandas, norteñas, and mariachis walk around complaciéndole a la gente!
    ⭐️⭐️Local Tip⭐️⭐️
Every morning, the waters give off vapors and locals believe the waters are healing. You can walk from the pueblo to the lago and take a nice dip to start your mornings! Then go grab something to eat en la plaza or los guisados de Doña Mari.

San Cristobal de Las Casas: too big and too many foreigners. But the countryside around it and the people in the villages are fantastic. THE Grutas del Mamut only about 10 km outside the city are definitely worth seeing. Sumidero Canyon is a wonderful experience and I floated the Grand Canyon in the USA 40 years ago when it wasn't crowded like today. And the Cascadas de Agua Azul near Palenque are some of the most gorgeous riverine landscape I have seen anywhere in the world. I will definitely return to Chiapas! Coatepec is close to home and we love it. We don't drink coffee, but there is so much more to the city. We especially love the Cascada de Texolo just south of the nearby town of Xico, which is also a Pueblo Magico. There is so much to see and do in Mexico that we will never exhaust our list in the 15 or 20 years we have left. I started in the 1950s and I'm not yet half through.

    • @EatBailaTravel

So many people get sick in San Cristóbal. I went with a group of 12 and 6 of them got sick. When I went again with a friend she got sick, and I have met many others who have gotten the stomach thing. Nevertheless I absolutely love San Cristóbal. It’s probably my favorite so far but I haven’t visited that many. Really want to visit Taxco because I love silver!

Been to Oaxaca and Merida. Been looking at Taxco for awhile now. Looks great. Go Bears (next season). Think it’s below zero today back home in Chicago today. Do you guys miss any of the Chicago food? I’m in Thailand now. Have been in SE Asia for months. Lost 20 pounds here. But I miss pizza and beef sandwiches, and tacos and enchiladas. I’d kill for a gyro here. Good job on the vids. Nice to see people from back home doing good.

I'm fron Michoacán with roots in Pátzcuaro. We go several times during a year. You have to go back to Pátzcuaro when its not noche de muertos. It's nice to experience but very overwhelming. The mercado is being rebuilt. So maybe go back and review the new mercado? Some local spots are tacos nacho in plaza chica and cenaduria lulu. Small local spot but their fried quesadillas are to die for. Also lago Zirahuén. Ruins in Tzintzuntzan. Santa clara del cobre is 20-30 min away too. Estribó grande for a morning hike. I can go on and on.

And, things got complicated with my job. As of last week I no longer have that job. I’m not ready to share more than that right now, but I appreciate you asking.

San Miguel De Allende should be #1

San Miguel de Allende is not a Pueblo mágico it’s actually a city, which caught us by surprise but it’s also a a UNESCO world heritable site.

Found this video as I'm searching for this time of Mexican experience. If you had to select between San Miguel de Allende and Oaxaca; which one ?

      @EatBailaTravel  Před 3 měsíci

San Miguel de Allende, then Oaxaca! Both are very much worth visiting but also very different.

@@EatBailaTravel Ok Cool ! I like traveling the same trajectory in one direction. I'll check flight options arriving in Leon first .. then sweep south. Not interested in beaches as we live in FL and booked a beach holiday on Costa Rica's Atlantic for October. Just got back from Egypt and Mrs. wants another vacay next month. 😀 ... Love your channel and I'm leaning on Morelia as part of the scope - and maybe Vera Cruz, the return from Oaxaca.

    Why didn’t y’all count MAZUNTE ?? It’s considered a Pueblo maxico!

I keep hearing from Mexican people that San Cristobal is either “just for tourists,” since it has a bunch of nice stuff in the poorest state in Mexico and/or it’s for “hippie partiers.”
So far, I haven’t been to anywhere in Mexico that compares to Oaxaca in any kind of total cultural sense.

You know, I can't really disagree with you on that note for San Cris. I kind of felt that, too. Chiapas is a beautiful state with lots of natural wonders and San Cris makes a good "home-base" for taking day trips to nearby places.

Mexico has so many wonderful places, but with so many pueblos receiving the designation it's starting to feel somewhat diluted in its meaning

That's a great point. I did feel it was unnecessary to add more to the list, but another part of me was hopeful that that meant economic development for those areas. As long as the govt follows through on their promise, of course.

San Miguel de Allende would be on the list but it is no longer a Pueblo mágico they have become a city and a unesco world heritage site.

I have been watching your videos for a long time now and I am a subscriber. I just noticed at the beginning of this video that you called yourselves Mexican-American. If you were born in the United States you are American. Not Mexican American. I am white and I was born in the United States and I don't call myself English American (and neither would you) because my ancestors came here hundreds of years ago. So please drop the hyphenated titles. I don't see how it's necessary.
