Those are Enviro400Hs, and apparently first is throwing away all of them cuz they can’t get them fixed. Although I’m not sure if that’s the buses being too much of a pain to fix or just first being sh*t at fixing in general.

It's unfortunate that we waste a lot of things in the UK. These buses that are not considered as scarp will gladly be accepted by many countries around the world to help their public transport system. These buses just need regular serving and maintenance and they will go forever.
It was weird seeing 43874 there. I’m from Cornwall and remember these buses being used on the then 47 route which ran through my village but is now run by Transport for Cornwall (Go Cornwall) and has since changed to 40.
Driven pretty much most of these hybrids when I was at scotstoun before I transferred to dumbarton, tbh not the worst buses to drive and were flying machines off the mark, you just didn't touch the breaks or you'd end up through the windscreen due to the engine breaking from the motors at the back😂😂

I'm very concerned about ADL Enviro 400's (the non-mmc ones) like why did the First Bus company have sold them in fairly young age of ecsploatation to scrap-yard more likely than these older B9TL's Geminis which are still regular to catch on several routes. The Enviro 400's were very useful for the route 6, today there's only like 10 of them left in Glasgow
These buses are not old, a shocking waste scrapping them. Not that long ago here in London buses over 20 and even 30 years old were a common sight in service. Now London has joined the throw away bus era.
These modern buses could be repaired and sold on to indipendent operators , small operators are stuggling to survive as they after go into debt as they are forced to buy new

Most small bus companies do buy off scrap yards for parts which may cost a fortune to buy first hand I'm talking about independent bus companies not the big companies like Go a head and first and Stagecoach

- just like the lothian E40Hs, withdrawn for unreliability as the engine in them is pish - Campbell's are processors, not scrappers, they remove engines for resale/spare parts/and other valuable parts then sell the rest for scrap to someone else. Also known as "recyclers" for some reason - 67778 is first-owned but got a mcgill's fleet number for, reasons.
Why have the later ex First Scotland East Enviro 300's gone to the scrapyard? There's fewer seats on the McGills Enviro 200's than there were on the ex First Scotland East Enviro 300's. And the seats were comfortable too.

That is how Manchester Corporation Tramways 765 survived before someone realised it was the only one of it's kind left and restored it, if it hadn't been for someone repurposing it in the first place then that particular design of tramcar would be long lost.
Its very heartbreaking to see all these very nice buses just being scrapped when they could have been given to a community or a smaller bus operator

E400Hs can have a diesel convert tho so why scrap them when you can convert them to diesel

The last bus used to be at blantyre. Sometimes used to drive it on the 266. Great wee bus.

At this yard they just take out the engines and gearbox’s they don’t deal with the body’s that get sent to another yard

That’s incorrect the Lothian ones were retro fitted with Cummins engines and were withdrawn due to not being standard in there fleet
