- Strong solar activity caused two powerful X-flares on May 9, 2024, which triggered a geomagnetic storm on Earth. This was the most severe solar storm since the Halloween event of 2003 and resulted in long-lasting auroras up to subtropical latitudes.
Amazing Jorg! You managed to get both this and the Halloween 2003 storm! Out of curiosity how would you compare the two visually?
