If you use cotton string (a la Wal-Mart), as many of us do, you won't have to melt nylon to keep it from fraying, and possibly burn the (non) "surgical" tubing or pouch. After tying the constrictor knot, we secure it with a square knot, cut off the excess, and secure the square knot with a dab of glue, like Duco cement. Thanks for the vid- nice sharp resolution you've got there. "THWACK!"
I like it. I believe this is clove hitch(?) aircraft electricians use it for spot tying wire harnesses; incredibly strong. I use a square not on top with one extra twist for granny to lock it down. When I was with UAL they wanted a surgical knot; of course I added a square knot. The clamps are hemostats they come in all sizes. Very cool thanks!!! :)
cool thanks for the video, i was always curious how to attach the tubes. Do you have plans on doing a tutorial for making the slingshots you show, or are you trying to keep it on the hush? It would be sweet to see how to make one of those.
I have been thinking about making a video on how to bend steel rods. I dont care if any one copies my design. If someone wants a slingshot bad enough they will make their own or buy one. Thanks for the comment and thanks for watching.
If you clip the rubber tube with pliers it will be prone to cracking ... but if you slip the end the rubber tube in the hole punch then bend the tube and cut a single hole in the side of the tube it will not be prone to cracking. Another thing you can avoid doing is pulling the tube trough the hole. Instead use the clip to keep the tube open and the slip the other end in while the clip keeps the end opened. I'm going to make a video on this because it's easier to do it then explain it. But you still can't do double tube with the tube reroute trough itself method.
Really cool but how do you do the actual bands and not tubes and i know some people say that with bands it gets more wide the closer to the forks of the slingshot is their a certain ratio that you need for that?
damn i cant get it to pull through after i make my slice in the tube! Im using the same tweezer / scizzors you are and nomatter how hard i pull the tweezers keep slipping off instead of the tube sliding through.
I enjoyed your video. It is great but where do I get these tubing for slings? I will appreciate if you can direct me to the source where I can buy these tubings. Thnka
I know 550 Para-cord is awesome and relatively cheap, but wouldn’t waxed floss “work better”? Also... if you use your hole punch to cut a smooth “notch” out of the tube/band, it should last much longer. With the hole being smooth, no stress riser because it’s round, instead of; a “straight” in, jagged, open ended cut made by the nippers/baby dikes starts to tare the second any stress is applied to it. It won’t last forever, but you won’t have to replace them because the band ripped at the pouch knot. 🤓😎
@daboyzful1 I got my tubing from a hospital rehab centre. I have the stuff that people use to strengthen their arms and stuff, and my Grammie had some, but she no longer uses it, so I got it C:
The quality of the video is good ----- however ------ the actual actions are showing in the top third part of the screen only and sometimes the actions disappear at the top. I do not want to see the tools at the bottom of the screen all the time ..... rather the actions the demonstrator indicates.
Very informative video and I thank you for it. However, the time spent with your hands and the work outside of the camera view just about caused me to turn off the video. Just a little feedback to help with your next video. Thanks.
The knot you're tying in the nylon cord seems to be a "clove hitch". (I searched for "cinch knot" and found nothing like what you're tying.) Does a clove hitch really hold through repeated uses of the slingshot?! What size surgical tubing are you using?
+MrFreeman1776 Perhaps cuz he shows the 'why' he switched from one method to another.. and some of us might profit from that knowledge and see 'the error of our ways' and change! If there's NO downside to the 'old' way, they'd not BE a new/better way ....
I am interested in both methods. Considering that both methods will work, it's good that he showed us both. He refers to the first method as the 'old way' because he is letting us know that the second shown method is his preference.
Half the time your actual focus area of work is off the camera! Would be great if you recreate the video with proper camera angle! For a novice it's difficult to understand what is happening 😂
Be careful shooting doves. They are protected by international treaties, and it is unforced with big fines, even for harassment. you must have a license and dove stamp.
Thanks, this was just the piece of info I was looking for. Just made myself a few pouches with different tubes.
Great !

Very Cool !!!!
@redrider187x try dipping the tubing in alcohol before pulling it threw. You can wet it with spit as well. It let's the tubing slide threw.

On the micro slingshot.
Do you sell your slingshots and how much are your Scorpian Micro's.
Just love looking at loads of blank desk space.
Your desk must be a cluster fuck just like your brain.
@johojo37601
It's a constrictor knot, similar to, but not quite the same, as a clove hitch.

Please do a tutorial!
His name is Joerg Sprave and have a slingshot channel so check it out it's awesome.

remake this video, since position of your hands are not seen, they are vanishing at the top of video.

why do you keep saying "the way I used to do it"??? Why can't you stick to what you ARE doing now??? Used to do isn't why we are watching
