- The Pursuit of Happiness is a Canadian power pop group led by Edmonton, Alberta singer and songwriter Moe Berg. "She's So Young" is the first single from their 1989 album "Love Junk".
I liked that juxtaposition of "...she's got the answer/She doesn't need to question..." from the first time I heard it. Moe Berg was a good lyricist.
This song was way ahead of its time. They sounded more like late 90s alternative. I had this song on repeat…i meant I rewound my cassette tape over and over.

I remember using track search to do this, would put a lot of wear on the tape at that point!

I am a tremendously huge fan of The Pursuit Of Happiness!!! She's So Young is my very favourite song from the Love Junk album. The lyrics are so beautifully written and the song is just stunningly gripping!

Great songs on this album. Well written with amazing lyrics and melodies. Very underrated band.
Great album. When Moe Berg was given the okay to record by the record company he wished that his idol Todd Rundgren could produce it. He was later surprised by a phone call from Todd saying he would like to do the project.
It worked out beautifully, when a great song became an even better record.
You can hear Rundgren's stamp all over the track.

This song sure brings back memories. Loved it when it first came out. I was living in Halifax Nova Scotia at the time and would play it on my Sony Walkman on a regular basis. Good times.

Great band from Canada. Had a chance encounter with Mr Berg at McMaster University before a concert. He was very pleasant and unassuming.

im from Toronto...seen him around our city over the years. I was 16 when this song came out ....I loved it so much from the first time I heard it.. honestly the last time I saw this artist was 10yrs ago on a subway in Toronto. ADORE HIM. so many good memories with his music. This is one of MY favorite song truly of all time. Soooo good , such a classic. They DO NOT make music sooo good anymore. Truly a treasure. Thanks for posting. I absolutely love TPOH! I got to see them live here in the states on the Love Junk tour. They blew the doors off the place. They were so tight that all the songs were played perfectly like you were listening to the studio album. I’ve loved them ever since. Have all of their albums. I doubt they’ll ever tour the states since they’ve been playing new gigs. But it’s just nice knowing they’re out there. Todd Rundgren’s production on the first two albums was a match made in heaven. Moe was a huge fan. Great memories of the soundtrack of my life.

First time I heard this song I wondered if Todd Rundgren had started a new band. Only found out later that he produced it. It screams Todd chords.
@@fadingworld5569 In all honesty I stole the term "Todd Chords" from Kasim Sulton. That's what he he calls them.
This song is so great with better promotion could have been a huge hit
some serious Todd chords in there, plus the wacky chord substitutions in the final choruses.
Funny you should mention Todd Rundgren... He actually did work with Pursuit of Happiness on their 3rd album; namely the song "Love Theme from TPOH" in which he provided a guitar solo.

Why do Canadian bands seem to do power pop so easily? The first 5 seconds of this set the tone, while the song over delivers.
