Why is this not in the manual? Pages and pages of battery warnings, one item about installing and removing the spool, but not even a mention of replacing the line, let alone how to do it!
This video was just what I needed, so a big thank you from the UK. Perfect video :-)
Seriously just read the manual and nothing!!!
BECAUSE THE WANT YOU TO BUY THE WHOLE NEW REAL WITH CORD ATTACHED
I found this video from a QR code printed on the plastic bag covering the manual. I found it AFTER driving to the store again to ask for help. Frankly I had simply ignored the QR codes.
Could not believe it..not in manual
FINALLY, after hours of searching for a video that does not require the searcher to have a ton of experience!!!! Thank you for the awesome, well explained details with close up pics for dual spools!!! If you have common sense, with little to no experience, this is the video to watch for filling a dual spool for weed eater!! THANK YOU....YOU ROCK!!!!
Nice wedding ring 💍
my FSA 56 came fitted with 1.5mm blue line. I bought the Stihl 2.0mm line as per this video but it is too tight to fit into the holes. So, I got some generic 1.5mm line which fits and works just fine.
You're doing it the hard way! Single piece of line about 5 arm lengths and stick ends in holes. Wind string keeping it separated by your index finger so they stay in their own lane. When you get to where you can't go further, clip the strings in the holders and cut the string in the middle. Basically, you're winding both sides at the same time
nice, that's a neat way to do it!
A girl will always find a difficult way of doing something simple...😊
This seems easier to me .. different strokes for different folks
HER WAY!
Great job
Thank you - very helpful!
For the last 18 months I've not let the lawn crew edge or use a weed eater in my back yard. czcams.com/users/postUgkx_rBCFuDW1zD6blTGhLkvAkxU657uR_lG I didn't like the fact that they just kept cutting the edge of the lawn further and further from the rock lining the flower beds and leaving bare ground. And the grass was trimmed or scalped several feet around trees, etc. It was a constant battle with them so I told them to just mow and no trimming. I have Zoysia grass so it grows pretty slow. Obviously after a while it could use some trimming. I'm in my 80's so I can't do much of it myself. Finally I decided that if I could find a lightweight battery powered trimmer I might be able to do some light trimming. I decided to buy the LST201 20V trimmer. And it works great for my needs. I have back yard with about 150' of flower beds and several trees to be trimmed. I can lightly trim the whole yard with a single charge! The grass I trimmed was only a few inches high but the trimmer was more powerful than I expected.
This video is excellent. I agree that all the dealers should watch this site. She demonstrated exactly how to do it and answered all my questions (Is that white restrainer band important?).
Watch the video again
No the withe plastic Thing is not important
Thanks so much!
Very useful..thk.s!!!
Stihl needs to require all dealers to watch and learn how this is done....
MadMarvAK True that... My dealer took one look at that white ring around the spool and told me it wasn't able to be "rewound" and that I had to buy a replacement spool. I told him I'm pretty sure I need a replacement dealer... Stihl, you need to fix your dealer education process.
I took mine back to dealer three times and each time they put that plastic retainer back on. It wasn't until I saw this video I realised the problem. Have had so much trouble with it. Their solution was to buy a new spool but with the retainer left on, same problem. Was told they have had no complaints. Maybe the other people saw this video!
Same things in Russia
LMAO,, having same problem,, but I knew CZcams had an answer
Thank you!
Thank you, now I know how te rewind...
Thanks
Thanks, I only wished I had watched this last year. I just spent $84.00 on 12 replacement spools. Yes, I know, don't say it, I've said it enough. Anyway, from now on I will wrap my own spools. I tried wrapping them before, but I always replaced the white cover: didn't work. Again, My Thanks, Spool Dummy, FR
SaberCut .080” works perfect on the Stihl FSA 57 plus this video for reference.
I had about had it with my FS56 until I found this video. You think STIHL would put basic directions on the back of the spool package - but NOOOOOOO....but they do have the word "Spool" translated into 29 languages.....but nothing else.
I have an FSE52 A new head is on the way, any idea how to change the head for a new one.. Thanks.
I wonder why I'm here. I don't even have a flowerpot let alone a garden.
So you don't leave the plastic on the prewound spools? Could that be why the line isn't advancing?
Maybe next time include this part in the Instructions STHL.....
What if the spool isn't empty but stuck and cant get in and out of the holes?
Using a FSA 130 R here, and the manual mostlt matches what you show here. HOWEVER, the spool on this thing does NOT match the video OR the manual, because there are NO "line holding slots on the spool! Do you have instructions for that type of spool?
The initial little hole in which you stick the line, does not hold on while working. Eventually it will get loose and get lost in the yard.. All my neighbours had done it for me cause i thought i was doing it wrong and still it just gets loose while working. In one hour you loose a whole line roll. The battery lasts very long but what good can it be when you have to suffer because of the line?
Very bad design.
My line is coming loose. I’ve tried 4 times. What am I doing wrong?
@@griggs3 I’ve not experienced this problem with the line coming unspooled. As depicted in the video, the line is inserted in the holes in the spool then wound in the opposite direction. This reverse direction of the line is what keeps the line from unspooling. Watch that small portion of the video again as she doesn’t adequately describe what exactly she is doing. I hope this helps.
Do they make a line feed system like the echo has....just feed an 8' piece of line through the holes and wind it up....easy peasy....takes 5 seconds.
Yes - just not on the smaller electric trimmers yet. The Autocut 6-2 (for curved shaft trimmers) and the Autocut 26-2 (for straight shaft trimmers) works in a similar way - no disassembly required. You just feed the line halfway through and then spin the head to wind the line up.
This design is terrible.
So its two lines we have to put in?
yes 2 lines, each approx 2 meters long
Why can I not purchase the same trimmer line that the grass trimmer came with,it appears to be a textured braided line???
Hello John,
This is a trimmer line that is only used in the factory where this product is built. Replacement .080" can be purchased in a few different styles. Please check with your local STIHL dealer to see what options you have. Best Regards.
Mine doesnt have tabs
Ha, she says to pull 60 feet off of the supply reel but in the video it clearly says it's only 50 ft long on the label of the packaging. 🤔
The line replacement task on this is terrible. Will not buy for this reason. Too bad none of the echo replacement heads are compatible.
There are universal echo clones Available on Amazon and eBay. They come with all the different components to go onto whatever brand you have
How to change the head of weed eater install a new one
Ничего не поняла
She does a great job but is the string length 6' or 16'? Yea, I guessed it wasn't 16'. That's a big deal and she's not clear enough. Bump head is such a poor design for a product that is otherwise well built. Sure wish they made a better head for this unit. $200 is a lot to pay so you can reinsert the string every time it breaks off inside "right" after to extended a minute before. I had expected quality and got junk.
i wonder if shes married? lol damn thats a big ass ring
Has a wedding ring on the video.
They need to junk this system! Nobody likes it!
