    15 minutes from Arlington to Maryland? LOL! Yeah, 15 minutes could easily turn to an hour with that traffic. Born and raised there. Glad I moved to SC although the DC area is nice in many respects. But being from there, I just couldn't anymore.

    Hello! Firstly, I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed the video and have already subscribed :D
    Just for some context, I'm a single 20 year-old male in Charlotte NC, and am a cybersecurity consultant earning $96k/year. I'm considering to move to the Arlington area this summer and am looking for a more exciting place to live. Given my salary, do you think living in Arlington is feasible, particularly with or without owning a car? I remember you mentioned it's possible to live there without one, but I'd be interested in your perspective when it comes to affordability.
    Also, are there any neighborhoods you might recommend given my circumstances from a social and financial perspective?

      Hey, thank you I'm really glad you enjoyed the videos.
      Arlington is a great choice, and there are plenty of exciting things to do there and nearby, without needing a car. Yes, based on your salary Arlington is feasible.
      To help you nail down the best neighborhood(s) for you, it's as simple as a handful of questions on zoom or phone. As a buyer or renter there's no cost to you during the process.
      Theres one development that will be appealing but you need to know the facts about, before considering.
      Happy to discuss affordability and if there are trade-offs.
      As a high level answer I would say the Roslyn to Ballston Corridor.
      PS, I'm originally from Charlotte.
      Brad

    So when did they change rt 50 from dividing N and S?

    • @LivingInWashington-DC
      @LivingInWashington-DC  Před 7 měsíci

      Hey Steve, Rt 50 is still the dividing line. I highlighted and talked about several roads, so perhaps it was confusing.

    Are there 2 bedroom rentals for less than 2500 a month? Im looking into relocating there but im scared i will be priced out of rent

    • @LivingInWashington-DC
      @LivingInWashington-DC  Před 4 měsíci

      Yes, if looking at a studio or 1 bedroom you should be able to find something in Arlington. Perhaps a 2 bedroom, depending on what part of Arlington.

      @@LivingInWashington-DC I would potentially work for Amazon, so I would need a close proximity to Amazon or a direct line using the metro. The most important thing for me is walkability and access to public transit

      @LivingInWashington-DC  Před 4 měsíci +1

      @@gurdoman If working at Amazons new HQ2, the closet area would be National Landing/Crystal City. You could likely walk to work, restaurants, etc, but still have access to metro. They are developing alot in that area since HQ2 came. The Roslynn to Balston area is very popular as well, you can walk to most anthing and metro to Amazon. It's a short metro to work, but you would be changing trains.

    I’m a single teacher and I wonder if I’ll be able to afford my own apartment there even if it’s a studio, in a safe area…. On a teacher salary

    • @LivingInWashington-DC
      @LivingInWashington-DC  Před měsícem

      Hi, I’m not exactly sure what teachers salaries are, but yes I have clients who are teachers and have found places in Arlington. I would also look at Shirlington.
