    Thanks for the review. Couldn't find any information about Omniad M30 frame tho. Is C1 a much better bike than C2? Is it worth extra 1000$?

    • @cyclingskills
      @cyclingskills  Před 7 měsíci +2

      Sorry for the late reply, I actually emailed Jamis about this question since I didn't have an answer about the C1 carbon frame.
      Here is what they said:
      The difference between the C1 and C2 is carbon lay up only. We use different fibers with the C1 having 100% M30 carbon fibers and the C2 having a mix of T700 and FRP. The C1 M30 carbon is lighter fiber and the frame should be around 1100g and C2 with a mix of heavier fibers and should be around 1200g. Using a 54cm frame size.
      Another reason for the $1000 difference between the C1 and C2 is the C1 has upgraded wheel set, shifters, brakes, cassette, crankset, bars, seat post and saddle.
      Hope this helps.
      Thanks
      J.

      @@cyclingskills Thank you for taking your time and the answer. If the only difference between two frames is ~100g then I guess I'll go for C2 since I was planing on upgrading to 2x12 GRX and some other things in the future anyway.

    I bought a Jamis Renegade C1 a few months ago and I could not believe the value for the money! It's rides amazing! It fits me like a glove. Thanks for this great, informative video!

    It is not only a very good gravel bike, but also one of the most underrated bikes out there. You won't find many reviews on the renegade, not many people talk about it or even mention it on forums etc. However, this bike is fun, durable and reliable. I've got the 2016 aluminium version, ridden tens of thousands of miles with it in all types of terrain and has always been amazing. I owned other more expensive bikes, but none like the Jamis in terms of reliability and fun.

    I love my Renegade C2, such a great bike. Good to know you were able to use 40’s for tires.

    Can we call it full contact testing? Best review I saw yet. If my trek disc crocket break, I talk to Jamie's. Double thumb 👍 👍

      haha :) I do play hockey and totally get that full contact reference. I should have been in the penalty box after doing that front wheel lock up video. Thanks for watching - Cheers

    I got Renegade C2 because of this review. It's a great bike I love it! Fast, responsive and very well thought out. Bars for 54 frame are little too wide for me so had to swap to Ritchey Butano 40cm. I only wish the tire clearance was more generous but for my rides 37-40c is plenty enough. I'll look forward to new Renegades C3 and C4, they look more off-roady it seems.

    Great review! What are your thoughts on the Jamis Renegade S3?

    • @cyclingskills
      @cyclingskills  Před 7 měsíci

      Thanks, I think the S3 is good option since I prefer steel over aluminum on gravel bikes (if I can't get Carbon)

    Hello, thanks for the review!
    I'm looking for a bike which would be comfortable in long rides (tours up to 21 days) but still fast.
    Currently choosing between Renegade C2 and S3.
    What's your opinion, is S3 a better choice than C2 for my purpose?
    The weight gap is not that dramatic ~1.5 kg (2.2 lbs), also steel frames are commonly considered to be the most comfortable 🤔🤔

    • @cyclingskills
      @cyclingskills  Před 4 měsíci

      I would get the steel if you are not thinking of racing it. Steel will be more comfortable and can handle a good beating 😬 Hope this helps. Cheers 🍻
