can't wait to cry my ass out watching the movie
And sing every song
I’m crying just watching the trailer and the first singles so I’m gonna sob my hesrt out once it’s here 😭
Same here
“You are not alone”
I will be apologizing to everyone in the theatre when I see it. I saw the show on broadway last year for my birthday and OMG the tears!
Can’t help wishing they had allowed Laura Dreyfuss to reprise her role of Zoe for the film.
She and Ben are just such a great pair!
Laura is like 33 years old now ;(. And people even bitch about Ben's age.
After watching the movie. Zoe seriously had me in tears. She was a great casting choice.
@@alinapasowicz3828 Can’t wait to see it!
@@alinapasowicz3828 totally agree. Kaitlyn was perfect for the part
i agree but i do think kaitlyn was great :))
Ben has the most beautiful voice whether speaking or singing …
he’s soothing! He exudes kindness. He’s humble.
And he likes old shoes!!
🇳🇿🇳🇿🐑🐑
Ben: “I was very scared to re-enter the world of Dear Evan Hansen for a myriad of reasons”
Heather Chandler and Me: “Myriad, nice”
Went to an advanced screening of the movie this week and thought it was AMAZING (and this is coming from someone who has seen the Broadway show 5 times). I think they did an amazing job bringing it to life on the big screen - even added more insight into things/touched on mental health more. Ben was phenomenal (as usual). I personally don't think any one else could have played Evan. I didn't even notice his age (which everyone is complaining about) when watching bc I was too captivated by his performance. I honestly don't understand why the movie is getting bad reviews...
I’m so so glad it’s Ben and Kaitlyn leading this movie. So incredible in their own right but as a team and friends it’s absolute magic.
I do wish I had seen Ben play Evan live on broadway but if I’m going to be really honest I don’t have that many regrets because experiencing the film for the first time without any background on the story was just as impactful and emotional for me! I cried and got teary eyed so much and it was so worth it
words cannot describe my love for ben platt
these two are such sweet and amazing friends. when they were talking about living together, it was just so heartwarming
Kaitlyn was in Booksmart with Ben's best friend Beanie Feldstein and Ben's boyfriend Noah Galvin - so it only make sense that she now plays opposite of Ben.
I cry every time I watch this trailer I just know this movie is going to break me 😭
this movie will break me as much as evans arm
I watched the movie just today i tried so hard not to cry at the scene when Eric told the Murphy family he wrote the note for the exercise for his therapist and that it wasn't that Conner wrote to Eric before he took his own life away. It was a good movie, the music was amazing! Sincerely me, You will be found, and Only Us were my favorite songs
OMG crying my eyes out just listening to them TALK about the filming of WF...can't imagine what it's gonna be like watching on the big screen!
Ben is just the best. And Kaitlyn seems so sweet! Going to cry my eyes out when I see the movie
GREAT INTERVIEW!!! I learned so much about their process, what it was like to film this, the director’s approach, what it was like working with Amy Adams, etc. This is seriously one of the best interviews with the leads in a film that I’ve ever seen. I’ve been so deeply anticipating seeing this film, and this interview makes me just that more excited to experience the premiere!!!
im literally tearing up watching this, what more when I watch the movie
Kaitlyn Dever turns 25 in December, I have to imagine this will probably be her final high school role.
It probably will be :(
Well, Ben Platt is originating his role as Evan Hansen now on film, even though he’s way older than he was while on Broadway.
@@boborambles I'm just saying that Kaitlyn after this will probably try to get more grown up roles now.
Yes, makes sense. 👍
she does look like a high schooler tho.
This movie premieres on Ben’s birthday….very cool. I love this interview. Very well done 👍💗🎶
I want to see this....but hopefully in a nearly empty theater, as I'll be a total wreck.
Same. I'm going to ugly cry unbelievably. :)
omg same here im going to cheer im a whoo girl lol clap and im going to have kleenick go out of business
I hear you, Matt. I grew up feeling alone, isolated, thought of by others as “weird,” disliked by peers because I was intelligent and didn’t “party,” etc. Just from the trailer, I see that this film may not only be the first I’ve ever seen to viscerally explore what it’s like to live like this as a teen, but the fact that the brokenness that’s revealed actually leads to redemption and deep love is a journey that I’m SO profoundly looking forward to experiencing in a real theater, with other people. September 24, 2021, can’t get here fast enough for me!
Don’t worry. Between the plague and the likelihood the movie will flop, you will be alone.
Even if the movie theater is totally empty I don’t think there’s any way to prevent a total wreck from happening. Like- why does his love interest have to pass as his daughter? Seeing them together makes me nauseous.
30 seconds in and I'm already grinning like an idiot. Ben Platt is the most adorable human on the planet.
Okayyyyyyyy editing this because 1:15 ARE YOU KIDDING ME. I thought I was grinning like an idiot BEFORE this. Now my face is splitting in half. It's painful, don't laugh at me.
I am loving the pearls. Almost as much as I love Dear Evan Hansen (obsessed with it btw).
The trailer and just the mere clips are already giving me chills!
Saw it in February 2020, seeing it again February 2022 (thank you Covid). Can't wait to see the film and I would love to see it on Broadway xx
I have already started tearing up seeing the previews of this- not sure my heart can handle it.
Ben Platt is an epic human
He is the youngest man
why did they cut Anyone Have a Map? and Good For You??? Outside perspective is IMPORTANT and cutting those just kinda remove Heidi’s perspective :-(
I smiled throughout this whole interview! Love them and LOVE Dear Evan Hansen!
This movie hurts me because I’m 19 and I have no friends (not even one). I tried to kill and hurt my self multiple times and was at in-person treatment few times following my attempts. Life is hard when being alone and I’m always alone. It’s hard for me to talk and some people in my life bubble don’t understand and I want to change and looking for anything to help me.
hi i know this is an old comment, but if you need a friend don’t hesitate to reach out. i know you don’t know me but i know what it feels like to not have anyone to go to so that’s not the case for u anymore ((:
I will never stop saying this I love Kaitlyn’s laugh 🤍
Considering Pacek and Paul wrote the musical with Ben Platt in mind, I'm glad they formalized the performance. I would also love to have had the chance to see the original cast who introduced the roles immortalized on film as well.
But why does his love interest need to look like his daughter?
Ben is amazing. I am very excited to see this movie. 🥰💜
EDIT: This was a great interview. They seem like besties now. Adorable.
Gosh so inspiring to hear them together. They seem to really bond well and love their job! I love seeing this. Sounds like an amazing yet tearjerker movie. Thank you guys for your talent!
I've had some feelings about KD's casting - she's brilliant, nothing about her talent at all, just that he reads a little older in this movie but she reads younger so in the trailer it feels a little disjointed. But seeing this interview has made me feel so invested in this collab and now I'm really excited to see them together on screen! (PS - Ben Platt is the best human. I just love everything about him.)
He looks like her father in this interview. Gross.
I love and appreciate this interview so much
you can really see he's looking for the oscar xD and i love the idea of him being an EGOT
Ben Platt ❤
omg!!! i already one to see this movie, i saw the musical not live but on youtube and i love it, thank for this movie!!! and Ben Platt im so happy he is in the movie!! and Kaitlynn is amazing too love her too, also Amy Adams etc. love all the cast
i always wanted to watch this live but i am not able to watch this on theaters because im from the Philippines and now that this will be in a movie, i might be needing to keep all my emotions first before bursting it out when watching it soon.
#YouAreNotAlone
I love that it seems like it has the original cast from the original Broadway show coming into the movie or at least some of the original cast from the original Broadway show. I do love that we get the original Evan Hansen for this
it’s literally only Ben lmfao
@@introxgrunt still awesome! Lol
I cry every time I watch the trailer. I’m going to be an absolute mess watching the movie.
Can’t wait 😂
Ahhh Kaitlyn I love her
Thank you for this
Just saw the movie tonight. I had heard and loved the broadway soundtrack, but that's it. The movie was so moving! Everyone that feels alone, or has mourned a loved one should see this film.
Love the film 👍Thank you ❤️ I hope history will find this film defines a generational era ( 2021 ) how positive and loving they are 🤗 born into a crazy world , described in the book “ the fourth turning “
I can hardly wait to see the movie!! So excited for it to be available.
I CAN’T WAIT!!!
Can’t wait to watch the movie!
GEZZ Kailtyn dever is so HOT and TALENTED I can't handle can't wait for this movie
Going to see this in the NOrth American tour in the theater. Can’t wait for the movie too!
This movie is going to have a high tissue count.
It should be sponsored by Kleenex and Visine LOL.
Cannot wait to see! Yay!
Kleenex sponsors this film 😭
And blankets and water and ice cream.
anxious to hear Julianne Moore sing as his mother.
That’s his mother? I thought he was her husband
I'm exited, i know you are too!!
Happy for Colton Ryan to land the role of Connor
I first saw the musical a month or so into its Broadway run & thought it would be a great film & that was 2016😂
Still devo Australia isn't getting the film until December so probably see spoilers of the changes online in the 3 month delay here
I’m so mad about the delay too!!!!
Argghhhhhh last time I checked it was still September, nuuuuuu, how could they change it :(
im so bummed dude
huhu I CANT WAIT TO SEE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!! GRR
I can’t wait!👏🏻👏🏻😍❤️
Not only young people I’m much older and feel invisible 😢
0:26 myriad…nice
Whoever edited this really did them dirty. So choppy, repetitive, and un-organic. This could have been done so much better.
PLS im crying midway the trailers and it cuts back to the interview
Dear god- from the screen cap it looked like an episode of To Catch a Predator.
❤❤❤❤❤
❤️❤️❤️
Fun Fact: Ben Platt is just 27 and is only 1 OSCAR away from achieving EGOT !!! Only '16' people have achieved that till date.
(EGOT - Winning all Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony Awards)
👏
When will it be out in theaters in CA? Is it okay for an eight year old?
I’m sure it will be there Sept 25 like everywhere else. Not inappropriate for an 8 year old but the subject matter is VERY emotional, involves teen suicide and will be WAAAAY over their head. This is NOT “FROZEN”
Definitely not ok for an 8-year-old. The audience will be a collective emotional wreck at the end of the movie and that will overwhelm a young child.
Obvious from promo not
I bet Laura and Ben do have great chemistry together, but after watching last man standing with Kaitlyn, I think she can fill in Laura's shoes.
0:00/21:40 "KHAKIS AND THOSE FUCKING SHOES"
Lol
Myriad.. nice..!
I wonder what fans of the book will say about this alternative ending they spoke about. I’m 99% of the time a bigger fan of the book rather than movie but I’ll go into this with an open mind. I felt the book lacked closure a bit.
Anyway, can the end of September come already? I can’t wait to see this.
Hey Brandi … thank you for this comment! Believe it or not, I’ve never known until just now that DEH was originally a book. Now I want to read it before I see the film!
@@Califraska I didn’t either until my son said he’d read it. It’s by Steven Levenson. He won a Tony for DEH since it was based off of his book.
actually, it’s not! the novel was written after the musical, which is an original piece of fiction. it was based on the musical. not to be that person but eh, tryin’ to help. peace ✌🏼
oh yeah, as for steven, he wrote the ”book” of the musical, which is theatre lingo for the lines/story part of the script (as opposed to the music, compositions & lyrics), which is probably why you’ve got it confused. (easy mistake to make.) the book was written by a completely different author, i think, though with guidance from the original creators (i.e. pasek & paul and steven), but don’t quote me on that
@@lilymihami6097 OK, thanks for the clarification.
i kinda wish they also casted laura 😭
Ben Platt is looking _extra_ hot. :0
Here to see people cancelling Ben Platt after the film fails rather horribly
I think they should have not had him grow out his beard and show his chest hair when he's trying to pass as a high schooler in the movie he's promoting....
I hope amy adams sings
Love that Ben Platt is playing him again, but again I low key wanted to see someone different and possibly getting someone age appropriate for the role of Evan. Possibly other broadway actors aside from Ben Platt
I loved this movie, I just wish that they didn’t totally ruin Jared in the movie. And that they kept good for you! But overall it was a good adaptation.
Girls
P..
Why is he wearing a pearl necklace?
To remind us that she isn’t actually his daughter
BP is getting so pretentious
It's unbearable
Literally how? 💀
He’s so overrated
Yeah, I like the songs but the idea of spending 2 hours in a movie theatre watching a 30 year old teenager whine and wail is not appealing. Neither is being surrounded by teenage girls blowing snot and tears into their COVID masks.
@@KSMaxiefan01 he’s very one-note as an actor, but he’s got an okay singing voice. Too THEATRE! for film.
It’s already too late for him to play this on film. He is a DECADE TOO OLD. They should have captured the stage musical on film the way they shot HAMILTON. A theatrical venue is less demanding of reality whereas film requires a different suspension of disbelief
Agreed. Great voice, good actor, but looks nothing like a teen!!
He’s about the age for a perfect Mr Connors dad.
Why “embrace your queerness” (as he states here) when the movie is about him being in love with the sister?
BP is TOO overtly gay for this role. Not about homophobia but credibility. It may not matter on stage, but in the story, lusting after the sister is a big part of his motivation. I can believe he’s in love with Connor, but not her.
he was gay when he originally played evan. whats the difference? its acting. lots of queer actors play straight charcters. him being gay has nothing to do with him playing evan again
@@melaniepineda8525 not homophobic - I think it’s great that he’s out and proud - I am Bi myself. My point is not about Ben - it’s about EVAN. The character is in love with sister - Ben’s ‘queerness’ as he put it doesn’t factor into it.
@Caedmon Kline not homophobic - I think it’s great that he’s out and proud - I am Bi myself. My point is not about Ben - it’s about EVAN. The character is in love with sister - Ben’s ‘queerness’ as he put it doesn’t factor into it.
When ye mentions queerness it’s bc the play really shows that you should just be y no matter what ppl say and he’s just saying that for him specifically it helped to accept and embrace his queerness. And you say you’re bi this shouldn’t bother you. It supposed to encourage you and be proud and embrace yourself and OTHERS and THEIR queerness
@Caedmon Kline he really isn't and him complaining about Ben talking about embracing his queerness as a queer person himself is sad and is what tears apart the LGBTQ+ community apart and has nothing to do with the character of Evan anyway
I like the songs but the idea of spending 2 hours in a movie theatre watching a 30 year old teenager whine and wail is not appealing. Neither is being surrounded by teenage girls blowing snot and tears into their COVID masks.
Looks awful
