This album feels like it could have been released straight after Blinking Lights... That's my own head cannon. Not been so excited for an Eels album since Blinking Lights... A return to form for sure. These two tracks are amazing. This is up there with my all time fave Eels tracks. AMAZING.
That’s interesting because I’d rate both of mark’s solo albums and almost everything else eels better than blinking lights. I really liked one song and the album is ok but that was probably the most disappointing eels album for me from my expectations. Probably among my 3 least listened to as well. But I like this song.

So much of what has been released has felt process/some throw away cuts purely for the sake of releasing 🎶 rather than an awesome album. I agree that I love both his solo records too. I remember back in the day when an Eels release was a big deal and it just has not been for soooo long. I get it that we get older and times change, but this record has a feel of the old times with a great concept, art, music. Just genuinely excited and have not been since back in the day.
@@jaymaxx3910yeah that’s fine but hombre lobo, wonderful glorious and tomorrow morning were right after that and without even checking I’m sure would be my top 3 eels of the last 20 years. Blinking lights always struck me as needing something along the lines of pruning, editing maybe a different producer but it always struck me as marks southern accents w/o the producer stepping in and calling bullshit (the story of southern accents is very long and involved but it was supposed to be a double album, it’s not) on the process and really getting it into what it could be. That album is a big swing but I feel it’s his biggest miss. It’s so long ago though I can’t remember what happened when and he might’ve been doing his first divorce at the time. I know I didn’t lie but I also remember not telling him the truth of what I thought of that album. That always stuck w/ me.
I'm very excited for this album now. Truthfully I wasn't expecting one so soon after Extreme Witchcraft, but E does like to keep busy and consistent. The sound on this is unlike anything from his last three albums, it's different for Eels. Catchy, that familiar forlorn lyricism with a bit a silliness. Can't wait to hear how this all plays out together.

@@petitpedromore fun is the audiobook version, the Chet reads it and maybe you’d have actually had to at least been a really long time fan or spent some time w/ him (one of my ex’s friends is friends w/ him) but the Chet does his best e impression for the whole thing and it’s actually pretty brilliant. I think if you didn’t tell most people they’d believe it was mark reading it.
This Tune is Rad and beyond stoked to hear the whole album knowing it's going to be Amazing with a fuckin Stellar come back. y`all better cover Canada on Tour down the road as well from at least Vancouver to Montreal.
