Film in 4 chapters about the Boer War in South Africa and 'traces' this war left in The Netherlands. About the Boer leaders, especially Christiaan Rudolf De Wet and Marthinus Theunis Steyn of the Orange Free State. Filmed on location in The Netherlands (Otterlo, Hoge Veluwe & Steenwijk, Overijssel) and edited with excerpts from a slightly older documentary about the war. In this film: the statue of general De Wet at the Otterlose Zand and Marthinus Steyn's 'bench' at the Kröller-Müller estate.
